Krillen
I remember watching the Radditz Saga in DBZ when I was in 5th grade. My friend wanted me to watch it. I thought it was so cool and I watched it everyday. And now Im in 9th grade and have most of the japanese videos. I got into other animes later on and I love almost everyone. My Favorites include Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Evangelion, and much much more. I love anime.
Guest Steiner
My first anime experience was when my older brother got akira movie out from the video shop and decided to watch it in my room, I was about 6 years old and i had nightmares of a giant teddy bear filled with milk for about 2 months

pbfrontmanvdp
I love this question. Well probably like most people (even though after seeing more serious anime i changed my mine on DBZ) i started watching DBZ at a young age (around like 8). Finally started buying dubbed movies and episodes from a store like 10 mins from me of Cowboy Bebop and Excel Saga. Anime is basically one of the greatest things ever besides maybe paintball. Lol almost forgot also saw like Akira 2 years after i saw my first DBZ episode.
kiddy_phenil
god, and to think, it wasn't that long ago that anime was really just a specialty thing, where you'd have to hunt and peck through the sci-fi shelves since it didn't have a designated area of its own.. Kwai
It wasn't like that in Japan :) sadly though, i never had a chance to get to c anime until last year cuz my parents were strict and they thought anime was 'corrupting'... psh... yeah right... i knwo they read manga and comics and watched earlier animes like 'astro boy' and what not and now they deny me the pleasure? NO!!!

animegmr01
I really just got into it about a year and a half ago, but I've watched anime sice pokemon came out. I know a lot about anime already but not nearly as much as the others on the bourd. But pokemon technnically got me into anime. But what really got me into it was Evangelion. klinanime1
I drew my way into anime. Didn't know what it was called, but I liked the style. Then someone got me hooked into watching it... Oh, and I don't think they'll have Evangelion on adult swim. They had to edit several episodes of Cowboy Bebop, and that was just all the blood gushing out of a guy's jugular vein. Still, one hopes they will. I can't believe they restarted Trigun again, too. These theme songs are SO going to be stuck in my head the rest of the year. kiddy_phenil
ah, eva was also what really got me into it.. i think they played a few eps a while back on adult swim, but yeah, even on a.s. it ain't completely uncut. bit of a limit of how much blood they can show with out making it green like in dbz, and either air brush the naked reis or put them all in sporty underwear like melfina in outlawstar... :P
Zidane
Well it all started about 4-5 years ago,I sat in my favourtite arm chair sipping my 20 year old brandy, I slowly picked up my remote and clicked it onto SBS (a really poor australian channel) and thier on the screen was the face of a huge robot, it as Evangelion i sat thier and watched it and was hooked after that time on. Flashlight
While surfing the net, I came across a Evangelion website. After buying collection 7 from my local electronics botique, I thought "Wow, this is pretty cool". Then I rented Akira and didn't want to see another Anime for 4 months. After buying collection 8 of Eva and Rourouni Kenshin: Requim for the Ishin Patriots (Samurai X: The Motion Picture) I bought the Slayers Box-set and I was hooked. A year and-a-half later I love Anime and Slayers Next is my Favorite series. I love Anime.
InuyashaDeamon
I see a trend most people started watching anime with toonami. I started when i was in fifth grade. I saw anime, i can't remeber what it was or called. But my dad didn't like anime because of that one saying that animes can cause seizures.(i suck at spelling sorry). Then i started to see a few here and there and i didn't start watchin Dbz until i started the seires again. But i seen most that my friends haven't heard of and thier big anime fans too. Birdy, the crest of the stars, and Bubblegum Criss.
Vertigo
Well, the first anime that I ever saw was Sailor Moon, but I really didn't get into it until much later. I was at camp again, and everyone seemed to have seen some anime, not just my Eva-obsessed friends. I had heard of Cowboy Bebop, and so when I was off for the weekend, I decided to check it out on Adult Swim. As soon as the opening finished, I basically knew I was going to be a fan of that show.
