Gaming Halo 2: Combat Evolved (someone had to do it!!!)

[color=green]Well as thread title says someone had to do it! Well this is the sequel to perhaps the greatest game for the Xbox so far, hence perhaps. Overated in my eyes; yes, but still a great game; indeed! It brings out lots of essence of fun especially in multiplayer options!

There were so many rumours about the first game, so of course there is speculation about this game. The first game was supposed to have a flamethrower among other things. Discuss what you would like to see in the game, what you think the game will be like and also when the game arrives in the shops tell everyone what you think about it then! :D

Well for one major thing the levels should be NOT SO REPETITIVE! I got very bored playing some of the levels and realising I had done the level earlier but for a different objective. The multiplayer on the first one was pretty impressive, but they should include more game modes and weapons and vechiles. The story mode should be more than 2 player, because I think it would make it last longer and you would get more enjoyment out of it. The levels are very detailed I think and not much needs to be changed around the graphics aspect. I think the computer AI on your side is pretty good as they help you out with firing and jump on vechiles when you are driving and give you covering fire.

As long as the first area doesn't require me to go through 20 vents and past what seems to be the same tunnel over and over, I think I'll be a bit happier with it.

The areas in the game were extremely repetitive. It's the only real reason why I don't find the game that enjoyable personally.

Bungie has room to improve on it, and I'm sure they most likely will... so I'll probably be checking this game out when it finally comes out.

It's been delayed til 2004, so there goes the supposed 2003 release date.

*tear comes to eye* I can't wait for it! I loved the first one. Fun, great graphics, cool weapons, awesome story. ^_^

I can't wait until we get to fight on Earth. :D That is going to be so cool. Wonder what places we will see in the game? The capital? Oh my god...that would be so cool.

I want to see a human thing(jets....etc.....) that we can fly around in. And go into dogfights with some Banshee's with human weapons. :D

[color=limegreen]Ahh! *Feels stupid* I was suppose to erase the Combat Evolved bit on the thread title as that was the first Halo, but oh well.

*Moves on swiftly* I agree when saying Halo was very repetitive, because well simply it was. Also the fact that you can't really die as in game over made the game way too easy in my opinion. It brought a lot of fun in co-operative mode though when clubbing my partner in the back every second an still being able to carry on with the mission. Grenades are also a thing of beauty! :devil:

Things to improve on are a bigger selection of weapons, vehicles, enemies, storyline (longer!) and vary the levels itself.
Weapons- not a problem really, just add a few more!
Vehicles- I have already seen shots and sketches of varied versions of the warthog and boy do they look good. There seems to be one for snow with like Lamborghini style doors, three other variations of the warthog, a quad bike, more hovercrafts (one called shadow I think), etc. Sounds good to me.
Enemies- looks like there is going to be a new race of creatures when looking at images of Brute (a monkey like creature) and also the Convenant forces will be there attempting to take over Earth with new additions to the force like Prophet.
Storyline- Well Bungie could do a lot on Earth if they put there minds to it, but I doubt it will be too long unfortunately. Halo's storyline was to basic and brief in my mind and the few cut scenes I saw didn't really make it any easier to understand. Master Chief should talk more!
Levels- Well Earth should be full of different scenary and by the looks of the snow warthog and the camouflage like jungle version, there should be different areas to explore. As long as they don't return often and make loads of repetitive objectives its should be fine. Haven't seen any pics on Earth yet. :(
Graphics- even though they don't need to be improved I have been assured the detail is better by far.

[size=1][color=darkblue]Well, although the first one was special with great graphics and playability, I found it a bit dissapointing. The game modes were very repetitive, the enemies weren't too hard, there wasn't an azmaing set of weapons or vehicles, and with a little extra time and effort it could be amazing.
Online capability should make the game a lot more challenging, and a lot more fun. You'll more play than ever out of a online game, as they are forever changing. Downloading features from Live to the game would be a great option.
I feel the game could also be improved with more cut scenes, turning it into an experience, more than just a standard first person shooter. Maybe even some options, so you choose how the story is going to end, a bit like Resident Evil games use, so you have around 4 endings. See, this post took me 4 minutes, think of how much better the original could have been if there was more ideas being used![/color][/size]

I would like to see a helicopter or a boat that you can drive in the second. I doubt that would happen though. Maybe in the third if they make one. More weapons, yes. Mostly because my neighbor cheap-shots with the rocket-launcher and sniper. I just show him my shotgun in the back. Just more weapons and way longer storyline. That's about it.[/font]

[size=1][color=darkblue]If this game is in the making, why are you saying we should wait until the third for helicopters and boats? It would make sense for them be included now, so people keep interest in the game.
More weapons is an obvious improvement, but their are many little things that could be improved. As I said before, a group of alternate endings that you get by doing different things. Things like more realistic deaths as well. It could be so cool.[/color][/size]

But we all know what we want to see in Halo 2!!!
Banshees in multiplayer!!

That would be so cool. 16 player split screen, possibly over XBOX live. Someone's in a scorpion. They shoot their cannon. I last-second dodge. I swoop down and fire my cannon. KABOOM! No more wise guy who cheats by always running to the stupid tank in Blood Gulch!
