to me, being at home celebrating with my presents family is what makes it so special. plus, there's also the presents fact that I've become one year closer to reaching adulthood. I couldn't care less about gifts.

Knowing that I'm one year closer to owning a motorcycle, and getting the food I want to eat. Even though it's traditional Irish food, (bacon and cabbage, ohh so exotic), I still like it.

Then there's just the laughs. I like being with my friends and all my close family for one day of the year, and just having one great big joke around.

I would say presents, but as I'm getting older I'm realising I'm not getting as many presents I want, but presents I need.

Ah, birthday hits. Stupid idea.
Some people take it WAAAY to far. Like the jocks. My circle of friends don't do it at all, but I've seen someone (a jock) who was floored after someone else (a jock) gave him a birthday hit with a chair. Really. It was just last week.

ChibiV - Presumably you've never actually done the horoscope thing in you Sig?

I love birthdays.^^ In my family we have alot of September birthdays, including mine and my brothers'. My grandma is the only one that lives in the same state as me who does though. ¬_¬ Hers is 4 days after mine, my brothers' is 5 days before mine. ^_^

Its fun though. When we where younger we had it combined a few times. Now we usually have family ect. over. I love decorating for birthdays, especially my brothers' because him and I like alot of the same things so its easy, same with shopping for him. We usually have cake and dinner. Last year I had chocolate cake and Chinese food, mmm.. :tasty: My favorite part is the realization that it is my birthday, like in the morning, presents, and family. 5 months from tomarrow I'll be eating cake and opening those presents.:excited:

My birthdays are okay I guess. For the last three years they have been in different continents (this doesn't help), and I've never had much luck with parties anyway. I just stick to getting stuff from my family, I don't need to make a big deal about it.

Hey hey, Elite, me, and your grandma all have the same birthday. The 19th, right?

Well, I'd like to say that getting together with my friends and having a party is the best part about celebrating my birthday..but that was 3+ years ago. I always enjoyed getting together with my best friends, and then going out to some place like Dave and Busters and just having a great time. Since then, however, I grew out of parties, so that isn't an option.

After that, it's great to have my family come together, but even then, I am only in high school and still live with my parents, and I see my grandparents at least every two weeks. Presents? Well, it's not like that's exculsive to birthdays, and the same can go for money.

I suppose that having a day designated to myself is the best part of celebrating my birthday. Selfish? I don't know..after all, it's my birthday.

Overall, I'd have to say that birthdays were a much more enjoyable experience when I was younger. It's not that big a deal for me anymore.

It used to be getting presents and that when I was a kid, but nowadays I just get a few birthday cards and maybe go out with my friends at night

I'll be going to the US early July, and I'll be making my way back to the UK just a while before my birthday, heh
