She moved forward to hit him again, another snap kick, but Ilmiwyrth merely stepped back, and as she dropped her leg. He was about to move forward, when he was interrupted by Vichante's acid interjection.

Vichante: Tell me, where you intending at any point to actually touch each other, or just dance around?

Ilmiwyrth: I should have thought the evidence was abundantly against that....I would have also thought interruption was unneccessary.

Shalistrae: I agree, but circumstances are mitigating.

Lifé: What this time?

Shalistrae: Come and see.

OOC: You know when you have absolutely no idea what to say?

The two disgruntled beings followed two even more disgruntled beings to a cliff overlooking the village below. Shalistrae gestured not to it, but to the land beyond it. Lifé's home. She sharpened her gaze and followed the Dragouret's arm.

Circling ravens. Could mean one of two things.

Shalistrae: War.

Lifé: Or famine.

Vinchante: It would work either way. The gods aren't feeling terribly overjoyed about our daring midnight escape.

Ilmiwyrth: So we don't suffer for it. But Lifé's family does.

Shalistrae: I suppose so. Lifé?

Lifé wasn't there. She had spread both wings and leapt. Down to her family, to see what was really going on.

OOC: I could kill myself, but I can't find my knife and my window is locked.

OOC: So you take it out on poor Lifé? How malicious....

IC: Shalistrae followed unhesitatingly, Vichante and Ilmiwyrth were forced to use some less mundane means. Ilmiwyrth focused on one of the circling ravens, the carrion birds that existed more than half in the aethereal realms, but were still tied to the earth by their concern for mortal dead and affairs. Ilmiwyrth slid himself and Vichante into an incorpreal state, and moved into the astral cord that tied ravens to all things, and relocated themself to the nearest spiritless bit of mortal flesh. Unfortunately, it was a dead sentient, in the village. Vichante and Ilmiwyrth gave the area a quick scan, didn't like what they found, and waited for Lifé and Shalistrae.

Lifé and Shalistrae were further down, inspecting a half burned corpse. Only the village was intact. ....any people were mostly dead or dying. Lifé found a little girl, horribly blackened by fire, but still able to speak. Her voice was a piteous whine.

"...she came for us...but we resisted."

Lifé: Who?

"....Primen.... It was so dark, she came outta nowhere....demanded everything we couldn't give.... ....she cursed us...and....screamed and shouted....and dying....the blood...the.."

Her eyes opened wide, then rolled back in death. Shalistrae crossed herself and closed her eyes for her.
