:D Ok well while talking with Jinzou today, we started to remember some old anime series of our time. Does anyone remember one of the very early 80's revolutionary anime called Voltron. I use to watch this show 24/7 as a kid. My favorite character was obviously Keith, because well he was the babyface of the team and we all know the Princess was in love with him.

Oh, and how can we forgot the villian of all villians! No not Laucorn, but the dastardly prince Lotor! Remember the silly catch phrases like Form Legs, and Arms, form torso and body, and I'll form the head...you know as a kid you -___- fail to realize when a show has hidden meanings. So does anyone remember Voltron.

And obviously here's the question of the day does anyone remember season 2 with the cars?

Although I only vaugely remember the show, I know that I was obsessed with it when I was young (much like He-Man). I actually had all of the Voltron toys, they combined to create Voltron (yes I had both the lions and the cars, I also had the constructacons...but that is another story), but they didn't form quite right. My friends dad often traveled back and forth between DC and Hong Kong...he bought the toys for me as a birthday gift.

I remember that when power rangers first came out, I thought it was a cheap, live action rip off of Voltron.

God, Voltron is great ^_^ I remember watching it when it came on Sci Fi channel early in the mornings, and later when Toonami brought it back in 97.

I've heard rumors lately too that the recent wave of '80s comics will spark a Voltron comic, probably courtesy of Image Comics. Hopefully it'll come out pretty good.

Ah, sweet Voltron. I really liked watching that show when I was little, and I was happy when Cartoon Network brought it back for a short while. I don't remember any cars, though.

I thing I do remember (and really disliked) was Voltron: The Third Dimension. That show was so boring, and they had nothing new to offer to the Voltron legacy.

I certainlly agree with you on that, they even -___- had a new Voltron upgrade that I think was called Stealth Voltron which served no purpose. Though it would of been nice if they at least finished it. Though with the popular revivals of some odd school 80s stuff like Robotech, He-Man, Transformers, Care Bears, TMNT, and countless others we may still yet see another rivial of Voltron hopefully in an animated format.

I would be extremely happy if that did happen. It would be cool...

And if they were to (which they should. If not then they're stupid.) there should be new characters...

Yeah the Ro-Beast and who could ever forget Laucorn's Dark Witch who made the Ro-Beast Haggle! She was one evil women and butt ugly too. As for the revival of Voltron I checked up on JC's claim about a comic series coming out. That actualy is true, image comics is currently working on a revival of the Voltron series in a comic adaption which should be interesting since, Transformers Armada was brought to the US thanks to the Generation 1 comics that Dark Horse is publicating.

You know, why is it that now that I really want to know it, the Princess's name leaves me? It's right on the tip of my tongue...

Anyway! I loved that show. I used to watch it, too. And of course, being a girl, I LOVED the Princess, especially when her hair was all down and pretty. And hey, she was all about the pink, so she definately gets two thumbs up from me. ^_^

I remember Voltron, but I didn't grow up watching it. I first saw it when it was part of the Toonami block on Cartoon Network. It was one of the first shows they put on there.

As, for the show it was pretty good. Some of the monsters were pretty cool, and Prince Lotor was a bad(insert obscenity). My only gripes about the show was that none of the pilots' suites matched their robot lions. I mean the guy in the blue (Lance I think his name was) rode in the red lion, while the guy in the red (Keith) rode in the black robot. What is up with that?

Also when the robots joined to make Voltron, why did Keith always tell the others what part of the robot to make. I think they would know what to do with out him repeating it every time they were in a fight.

The Princess name that you can't seem to remember is Princess Alura! As for the Keith telling them what part of the lions to make, you have a very valid point after doing it so much it would be pretty obvious..

Yes, oh my god, do I remember voltron or what...

I saw this thread when it first came up and was hesitant... so I didnt respond.

The just now, I got impatient and decided to search "voltron" on the net...

I saw the title page of a net page and instantly went way down memory lane.

I was amazed.

I just couldnt believe I would forget something I loved so much with such ease.

So yea, ... hell yea I remember voltron.

And I thank you rick for jogging my memory.

I also wanna say that voltron was my bread and butter...

Its odd too, because I didnt think of voltron as anime; infact, anime wasnt in my vocabulary, nor did this stuff seem foreign.

Oh well...

Thanks again, its good to have those memories back...

BTW, my favorite piece of the toy set was the green one... I had them all.

I knew it started with an "A." I really liked her name. I miss that series. It was really cool...of course, it seems that more guys liked it than girls, but that's usually the case with most old-school anime anyway.
