Anime Is Yu-Gi-Oh Evil?

I never actually thought of comparing the cards to real life events. If you think about it though, it does make a lot of sense.

However, eairlier today I was having a conversation about this with my father. He said that some authors and cartoonist are seeing the future or the past and don`t know it. Then they create what they see and we see it as forms of entertainment. Or something like that he said. Anyway I said I hope the YGO story is not true because I find it pretty weird but then again who knows.

You know, on this certain subject, it made me wonder about a few things. Since like you said, some of these "soccer moms"(I HATE classifyin people by religion like most have done, because in my view, religion has nothin at all to do wit this. So I think I'll just use the old school term of "soccer moms". And so you know, thats not degrading those that play Soccer. I respect yall that do so. As a matter of fact, lately I've been gettin into the sport a bit. But this is just an old school term for those that try to find evil in EVERYTHING, even little things like shows on PBS and what not.)pretty much say that Yu-Gi-Oh! is evil, is this probably the reason that they havent dubbed the rest of the series just yet(or maybe its just because they just havent done it yet. But I was just thinkin about this yesterday).

Meh, spoiler warning ahead. Its not really much of a spoiler since I'm not talkin about who wins or whatever, but its still somewhat of a spoiler none the less.

Reason I say this is because yesterday, I was watchin a Japanese ep of Yu-Gi-Oh when [spoiler]Yami Yugi and Yami Bakura were against each other, and in episode 2 where a Ouji board came into play.[/spoiler] And as we all know, in the past, there has been ALOT of controversy over the Ouji board. Obviously, I honestly think that this ouji board nonesense is fake, but still, there are many people out there that believe in that stuff and well, think that its really evil. So maybe, 4Kids(bein the idiots that they are), decided not to dub the rest of the series(which unfortunatly, may turn out to be like the second season of DBZ where it ended with a certain episode, and then went back to the first episode of the saga and kept runnin reruns from now until someone else picks it up.). I mean, from what I watched so far(which I feel the rest of the series is the best anyway), there is alot of stuff that I personally feel is gonna be somewhat hard for them to edit. [spoiler]Bakura cuttin his arm, Yami Malik killin his father and always tryin to kill Rashid, the Ouji board incident(IF they decide to edit that),[/spoiler] and all sorts of other stuff that I'm sure most of these ignorant...let me rephrase that. Ign'ant people will complain about sooner or later.

So, is this quite possibly the reason they decided to stop dubbin the rest of the series? This thread got me thinkin about that when I was watchin a few of the eps(wont tell my source. ^_^)yesterday.

Again, like I said, IT'S JUST A SHOW, but unfortunatly, those people that think its evil have alot of pull on things, thus could quite possibly be the reason they decided to rerun things. But then again, maybe I'm wrong and they're just showin reruns to get people caught up before they show the rest of Battle City. *shrugs* But this quite possibly could be the reason. A little somethin to think about. :D

Well Jinzouningen, I really am expecting they will. They will just change the letters. Cause that entire set is already out in the english Labyrinth of Nightmare its known as the Destiny board and spells FINAL. I think they ended the BC eps for now because of the season finale or something. So they are gonna go on hiatus and dub the rest of the eps. I'm just saying this because a lot of the tv shows are having the season finales now. And I agree it will be hard with the other things you mentioned. That' why I think Toonami should get Yu-Gi-Oh. I mean yes there will still be editing. But not as heavy and restrictive. So eh. Time can only tell. And plus if they did stop with the season then WB and 4kids would be shooting themselves in the foot (metaphorically speaking of course.)

FINALLY! Someone else who agrees with me. :D I too believe that Yu-Gi-Oh! needs to be on Toonami, and quite possibly, dubbed by a no so..whats the word I'm lookin for? Oh yeah, "Kiddish" company. ^_^

Actually, after seeing Bandit Keith do that with his hand in DK. I thought Toonami should get YGO. But since they dropped like a full hour off their time slot then there wouldn't be a way for them to fit it in. Unless they dropped something. Actually. since G-Gundam ended i think YGO should take that time slot and that be that. But since X-Men evolution has been sent to CN also. I take it as a sign that WB is giving up a lot of cartoons. So I won't be surprised to see YGO start airing on TN. Cause Zeta Gundam won't air till late this year or Next. But I am definetly going to say this.

If YGO got worked into Toonami. It would probably replace either Kenshin or YYH. Well seeing as how YYH will be over soon. YGO could replace that. Oh well. I'm just rambling. Sorry.

Well my friend told me about lots of stuff they edited out of YGO like cursing and stuff. Mabye they should make YGO T.V. PG and put it on Adult Swim. Wait thats bad because not many people would see. However YGO is not really for kids under 10 because I read a bit of the first manga and some of the things said is not what most parents would like their children to read.

I think mabye thats why they did not start YGO on the anime like they did in the manga.

Umm... I don't know where you got your "facts" J17, but the battle city season 1 American version of Yugiou will go all the way to the second episode of Jounouchi and Rishiid's duel, then show reruns for a while, than a new season will come. This is strait from the horses mouth. And the board will be none other than the spirit message obviously, in which you spell "FINAL".

But anyway, it seems like you were right anyway. I'm lookin at a rerun ep of Yu-Gi-Oh! right now, and they just showed a commercial for new eps of Yu-Gi-Oh! beginnin this comin Saturday(beginning wit the tag team duel we talked about earlier.). So we'll see if they'll continue to show new eps all the way through the Ouija Board Conflict wit Yami Yugi and Yami Bakura(then we'll see how many sensitive parents start complainin over nothin. :rolleyes: )

I am starting to have second thoughts about YGO though. The othe night I had this weird nightmare about YGO. I know it sounds stupid but YGO usually gives me nightmares. I am noot going to stop watching but until these nightmares stop, I am going to cut down on dueling. I am very superstious(Probably spelled wrong)

Oh wow...I never thought they'd hack right into the separate Battle Ship season, lol. I'm currently watching eps from the new season after Battle Tower, and I can say, I'm sorta interested. However, I am sorta more interested in the direction the magna is going.

Anyway..hope they don't screw up Holy Beast Selket or anything like that. --;

I have noticed that some of the cards look demonic. *shoots death glare at Pegasus for creating them* I don't collect those kind, I give them to my little bro, but that is beside the point.

My 'rents were getting all hyped up because of the "Ancient Spirit Guy Living Inside Yugi" thing. They thought that was demonic. (Amazingly, I get stuck with parent that care ^_^)

All in all, I think YGO is just the same as HP, Magik, and Pokemon (EVIL POKEMON!!!)

i know how u all feel. i've followed some of the fads. when pokemon was the fad, my mom was against it 100% (she forbid me to watch it)and then i picked up digimon. i actually got to collect the cards. she still said it was evil. and now i'm stuck on yugioh and i guess shes tired of getting me to stop my old ways so now i pretty much watch and collect whatevers out there. ive tried explaining things to her and she shakes her head and walks out of the room.

First off, what actually defines demonic, i mean you see something in Yu-Gi-Oh, and they say, thats demonic, well, "Have you ever seen a demon, do you know one when you see one?' thats like when people say, ew that/he/she looks like an alien, "Well, how would you know, have you ever seen an 'alien' before?"

Also, Im pretty sure the religious fanatics (btw, im a christian) are the same ones that tried to get pokemon out of the scene, and when people start lying to make their proof of something, it really shows that they are probably lying completely. They said that there was a pokemon named "Beelzebub" after the demon that was talked about in the bible, when infact, it was "bulbasaur" which did not come from that demon's name but from "bulba" (it has a plant bulb on its back) and "saur" (cuz its a dinosaur thing). They also said that the "Psychic" poke'mon were witches, even though it was just a name for the type of PKMN that used brainpower (*hint*education*hint*) for their attacks. All I can say is they make up stuff to try to make kids stop, they think its evil, but they just make up false accusations. If its so evil, and they have proof, why dont they use it, instead of using false things to back themselves up

Yugioh is not evil. Just because it has demons or monsters doesn't meen it's evil also what would keep you from thinking the same thing about magic card game?:demon:

Pokemon are very evil, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a really cool show (It's not demonic!) I collect all kinds of the cards, my parents don't give a care (my dad dun like it too much) and I pretty much collect what I wanna collect and watch what I wanna watch...like .hack//SIGN and InuYasha. (I got bored of InuYasha after the first eppy though.) -_-;;
So, all in all, Yu-Gi-Oh! may seem demonic, but in reality, IT'S NOT REAL SO WHY CAN THEY JUST UNDERSTAND THAT?!:flaming:

Sure, it has darkness and evil and sorcery...

But let's remember, the hero (Yugi) is always overcoming the evil.. ('course, he is using dark cards....)

And besides, it's just a game. As long as children don't go around trying to summon zombies of doom and worshiping Ra, it should be fine.

the powerful guys in dragonball z are aliens arnt they? and the same in dragonball gt? how are aliens evil? yugioh is not evil, it teaches kids to good to your friends and that if you do bad or cheat (like weevil) you will lose. 'sides its a cartoon, might as well say scooby doo is coz that had people dressing up as ghosts and stuff, and a talking dog (scooby himself).
