Ok well most of my closer inner circle of OB friends have know about this for almost a week or so now. But I really couldn't keep it a secret for much longer. Some of you probably heard or who have spoken to me know that one of my life long dreams was to make a film that would pay homage to anime and scifi genre's. I worked on the script which to most is know as Rage of the Inferno for about 10 years now.

After 10 years of trying to get this script into some production form or another, it's finally paid off. This week I was notified that 3 studios were in fact interested in bring my script into fruitition. I went with the best deal possible after a lot of legal consultation and have struck a deal with Miramax. So sometime within the next year to approximately 3 years give take on the production process.

Everyone will finally get a glimpse at my first film outing. I can't begin to express my joy, and overwhelming emotion I'm experiencing right now. Never in a million years would I thought that this one time small dream could become possible though I do know for a fact that this step in my career is not exactly going to be easy, there is still a lot of work to be done before I could ever be considered a great film maker.

Sorry if this went on too long or is not grounds for posting, but I really wanted to share this news.

As I bet many other Roti fans will be, I'm proud of what you have achieved and look forward to seeing the final form of the film moving gloriously on the silver screen

The closest I've ever gotten to being in a movie is when some guy had the same name as me in the credits.

I really can't imagine how something like that must feel. That's a pretty damn big accomplishment I'd say.

Congratulations.

Thank you, for those asking for a general plot here goes in a nutshell:

A world light years away from earth in a distant future a race of warlords known as the Sentron invade the planet Arillia leaving behind only one Arillian survivor. The boy traumatized from the pain of loss, consumed with hatred develops unworldly powers that can rival that of the immortal race. Unfortunately with these great powers comes a great curse, he's plagued by the visions of his people dying, he goes insane and goes on a mass genocide killing off planet after planet, many years go by.

Eventually Roti makes his way to earth, but is subdued in cryogenics. Thirty years go by and he awakens right at the time the Sentron Warlords have come to earth. A three-way war starts on earth between Roti, Earth, and the Sentron. Roti is the key to the universes greatest mystery, he holds the power to plunge life itself into darkness or bring about the next evolutionary step of mankind. The prophecy has come to pass.

That's basically all I can give you guys, I can't get into any major plot developements due to a contractional clause and waver I was forced to sign, stating that major plot developements can't be discussed.

Wow, congratulations, Kevin. I knew you were working on the script, but I had no idea you had been working on it for 10 years. :twitch:

And yeah, it'd be cool if you could put in a "Special Thanks" part in the credits, or something like that, with the names of OtakuBoards members, heh. *cough*putmynamefirst*cough* :toothy:

But yeah. I had no idea this had been worked on for 10 years. What I've just realised though is that I have no idea how ROTI ends. And now you can't tell me -.-'

Bleh.

*wonders if it's going to be in animated form or what..*

Yeah, I was wondering if it would be in animated form or live acting...
To answer the previous question Live action, I'm not going with an animated version since it wouldn't do the film much justice and with today's technology and advancements in CGI you can do much more.

As for the credits thing...nice try but no...maybe I'll put a special thanks somewhere in there or something like a director hint to OB, but don't count on me listing over 3000 names...-_- that would take up more like 2/3 of the credits.

Psst! Don't forget to mention me, Kevin. ^_~ J/k, you know it! I didn't do anything 'cept read the script. Well... some of it, anyways. ^^;

It's so great that you're going to get your script made into a real movie. But watch out, my sis is entering this film world, too, ya know. Looks like you're going to have some competition. ^_~ Nah, I'm positive you'll make it big. If you're anything IRL like you are online, I know you'll persevere until you make it to the very top out there on the big screen! ^_^ Gambatte! (In my really messed up Romaji world, that's supposed to mean good luck. O___o)

Maybe you could have a Special Thanks thing in the credits with something like "All my friends at Otakuboards.com". I dunno... Really i don't care...

I'm real proud of ya Kevin, though i've talked to you numerous times, i never even knew anything about the movie script.... I aught to stay up late more. I can't wait to hear more about this in a few years... I'll be sure to boast about it to my friends, when the previews are released. I suppose it wouldn't take more than 3 years for everything to be set up...

Do you have any idea of the actors that'll be playing in it?

Congrats Kevin. :) I know we've had our differences at times, but I'm happy for ya.

I'm actually surprised you were allowed to say any of the plot. Somehow I guessed that film making would be a little more secretive and under contract. *shrug* Glad that I could get some info though. ^_^

I was going to ask about the animation or live action thing as well; I'm just hoping it's possible to pull all this stuff off in live action, even with today's technology.

That would be very cool if you had something like "In honor of my supporters on OtakuBoards and AE Boards". You wouldn't have to add everyone's name, and they would probably allow it. In any case, good luck in pursuing your dream!
