Senor Ding Dong
It would consist of Metroid, Metroid 2:Return of Samus, and SUper Metroid, all for the GBA. I think it would be a good idea, seeing as how the GBA is powerful enough (SM:16 bits,M:8 bits,M2:8 bits, GBA, 32 bits), and all of the metroid games are good. I would like this game to hit the GBA. It wouldn't really cost that much to make(ports are easier than new games), and i've never had the opportunity to play any metroid game except Fusion(Have Prime, never really got into it). So, what do you think. 3 good games for one good, low, price-what could be better, especially because of the fact that all 3 are extremely rare nowadays. I would like to see this. How about you? Turkey
Metroid 1 was already brought back with Prime, so I doubt Nintendo would port it again so soon. Metroid 2 will probably be available in Prime 2. Knowing Nintendo, Super Metroid will be called "Metroid Advance", and ported to the GBA at full price (obviously, it will sell millions).
Semjaza
Way, way back... Before Fusion was properly announced, and Ken Lobb was still with Nintendo instead of Microsoft... he said there were two games coming. One would be an all new GBA Metroid (IV, Fusion) and the other would be a port of Super Metroid. Nothing came of this. I'm still expecting it at some point. However, there was also an announced remake of Metroid II for GBC.It was going to basically be Metroid II DX (like Zelda: Link's Awakening DX). It never came to be though, so I guess the Super Metroid idea could be dead too. I severely doubt it though. I am also expecting another Metroid to be included in the next MP game, like was said here.
Senor Ding Dong
Yes, about the MP metroids:You need a GBA and a link cable, and completed MP to have ploayed it. What about the many people who don't have a GC, don't have MP, don't have a link up. Not to mention they need to have beaten MP. If they don't like FPS(Mp is an FPS. You see it from a FP pov, and it is a shooter), then why would they buy it? It would be 3 good games in one. Plus, it's an easy-to-do port, and would rake in millions. Nintendo should make it, and if they do, i'd be the first in line.
Semjaza
If Nintendo were that interested in the millions that could be made from it... I severely doubt they'd stick all three on one cart. They'd probably do remakes and release them all seperately. It'd be nice, but it's not something I expect. By the same token, why isn't there a Mario collection? Why are there just 20 ports, when they could easily do a port of Mario All-stars? It's the money. I'm sure it's the same case in this situation, if they've even seriously thought about it for more than a few minutes to get a concept going. Desbreko
Yeah, I remember hearing about a port of Super Metroid and a new Metroid game (Fusion, as mentioned) quite a while ago, too. If they do end up porting Super Metroid, I'm not sure if I'd buy it, though, since my copy on the SNES still works fine. Maybe if they added a decent amount of new stuff, though I don't really know what they could add to the game. And yeah, like Semjaza said, they'd probably release the games separately if they released them at all. If they did do that, I'd pick up Metroid II since I've never played it before, but I'd probably pass on the other two. I can play the original on Metroid Prime (you need to have beaten Fusion to play it, by the way, not Prime), and like I said, my Super Metroid cartridge on the SNES still works perfectly.
