Kwai
Gooood :) I was hoping that he would do something different rather than just whip or scratch  unfortunately, Adult Swim stops at Koga so I need to wati for quite a bit -_-
thewanderer
definitely the best swordsman is hitokori battousai
Shinken
In case you haven't noticed, I am a BIG fan of Rurouni Kenshin, so the Manslayer obviously gets my vote. Of course, Amidamaru from Shaman King is no pushover either. I mean, if the guy can cut through a water tower tank thingy with an iron pipe (in the manga), then you just have to expect more to come. But Kenshin's still better. ;) Hitokiri Battosai
Hittokiri Zero
Enishi > Kenshin. Well it's hard to tell actually, It's probably a tie between Enishi and Kenshin. While Kenshin is a rurouni and not a HItokiri Enishi is definatly better =\. Well maybe not by a whole lot, but just for the hell of it i'll say Enishi is a better swordsman than Kenshin. Then there's also Shishio... But I guess once again he's better than Rurouni Kenshin, but not Hitokiri Kenshin -_o. Hmmm... blah... I guess it's still hard to decide who the best swordsman is, I shouldn't just limit myself to comparing Kenshin characters though, but because I've confused my self enough already i'm gonna end with this ---> Kenshin Himura, Enishi, and Shishio Makato, are 3 of the greatest swordsman in anime (in no particular order). WW2
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the great Hajime Saito from Rurouni Kenshin. His powers of observation along with his Gatoutsu techniques make him one of the best swordsman in anime. And if you didn't know, he was a real historical member of the Shinsengumi. Historians even say that he was one of the best skilled swordsman in the group. This means he was a badass in real life, as well as in Rurouni Kenshin.
Hittokiri Zero
Holy flaming fudge X_x!!! I deserve a big smack... Saitou is my favorite character from RK :P. Yet... If you think about it he's not the greatest swordsman =\. He's probably more or less on par with Kenshin when he's a Rurouni, but Kenshin uses a vast array of moves while Saitou uses a select few... Kenshin also seems to kind of rise to the occasion during many fights, so although you could justift yourself in saying Saitou is Kenshin's equal since they never really have a true fight to the death it's quite hard to say... anyway... Kenshin was somewhat based off a real chracter in Japanese History too =D!! But i'm guessing you already knew that ^__^'. edit: If Kenshin and Saitou were really to go at it one on one while Kenshin was still a Hitokiri I do believe that Kenshin would win, without a doubt(sp?). Atleast in my mind theres a big difference between Kenshin when he's a Rurouni and when he's a Hitokiri. Although (here I go again contradicting myself x_X) When Kenshin is a Hitokiri he really doesn't go that specefic into executing moves from teh Hitenmitsurugi-Ryu, it's more of just percise and deadly sword strikes. On the other hand when he's a Rurouni he always seems to have a new technique to demonstrate up his sleave. =D... So what i'm trying to get at is, maybe in all actuality Rurouni and Hitokiri Kenshin could be equal skill wise. ... I gotta end this post now. It's kinda fun to ramble on about Kenshin every now and then though =P.
Jim_Hawking
I know that they're only assassins, but my personal favorites are Vicious (Cowboy Bebop) and Twilight Suzuka (Outlaw Star) C'mon, she uses a wooden sword. What's not cool about that?
BunnyBunny05
Originally posted by BunnyBunny05 Kenshin has to be one of the best swordsmen out there! COME ON! Ya gotta believe me! LOOK! I'll tell you why.....see, not only can he be serious when it comes to battle w/the sword, but he clowns around w/it once in a while. Like that episode when he knocked that man up into the roof w/it...lmao. It was so funny! But still. He's the best AND IT'S A REVERSED BLADE SWORD! What more can you ask for?!?!?!?! :wigout: :babble: :smirk:  :D
Uuummm....if you said Swordswoman...I would've picked Suzuka...That girl can use a sword. Therefore, I still think Kenshin is the best. Hiei...well....he doesn't really use his sword like the other person said.....yea....I'll have to say Kenshin...aka The Batossi....I'm sure I spelled it wrong...lol.
animeforever105
Kenshin is definately a great swordsman and probabaly the best. Although I must say I have only watched a few Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop so I couldn't say for sure. I agree about Heie. He uses magic more than his sword. His sword is hardly used. And looking back at one more thing. Sanosake definately is a better fighter with his fists than his sword.
Amorphous
I would have to say Tokiya Mikagami from Flame of Recca is the best swordsman in any anime I've seen. Controller of the water sword. Very, very skilled user and is ruthless but always calm and collective while in battle. His skill level grows exponentially in the series. By the end of the manga he would be able to over power Kenshins easily. His sword skills are amazing compared to Kenshin. But yeah, Kenshin is a good swordsman himself though. DetectiveMick
The best swordsman has to be Inuyasha, just look at all the demons he's killed.
Guest Kaworu
I'm...going to have to say Saito from RK. While his techniques are limited, allow me to ask this question: Does he really need that many? Saito proved that dodging the Gatotsu really doesn't help since he can almost immediately go into another one. Then there's the Gatotsu Zero Stance he uses when he fights Shi-shi-o. His Gatotsu is also a slight variation of an actual sword stance which makes it even cooler. Now for Hittokiri Zero's comments on him only being on par with Kenshin as a Rurouni, when in flashbacks Kenshin as a Hittokiri fights to a draw with Saito. He is definately Kenshin's equal. Kenshin_K
I say Kenshin's the best(duh). Hey, doesn't Domon from G Gundam use a sword at some point?
Yusuke
i'd have to say Kenshin. unedited is better than that crap they show on cartoon network.
Marron347
I think Crono from Chrono Trigger is the best anime swordsman. His confuse and Luminare techniques are the coolest!

PWNED
I have to say Kenshin though Jubei from ninja scroll comes close.
Marron347
okay, outside of videogames, aoshi shinomori is definitely the best cuz after he got beat by kenshin he started using two kodachis(sp?), so he seems pretty unstoppable. However, I haven't seen the last couple of episodes that were showed on CN, I don't know if he fought kenshin again or what.
Neoclone-7
Grr... why not Gourry and Zangulus? Gourry especially cause he beat the monster in the first season of slayers. And what about Ryoko Mitsurugi from Real Bout Highschool (the manga, not the anime) I mean she beat up the Street Vipers, Azumi Kiribayashi TWICE, and seriously maimed countless random thugs. ... okay, I'm all done ranting.^_^;;
Shinken
For me, it's a split between Kenshin and Saito. Both are equals, so I just can't choose.
Zen
1.Kenshin Himura the Bottosai because he's old school and noble. 2.Raidei the Blade from the Gung-Ho Guns because he's new school and the you have to admit that the rifle in the sword sheeth is cool. 3.InuYasha Because he can kill one hundred demons with one swipe of the massive Tetsaiga. 4.Twilight Sazuka because she has to be the hottest samurai ever. ANd those secret techniques she uses are so, so, sweet! 5.Vicious from COwboy Bebop because he is the sly and and gets to the point with as fast as he can and in any manner possible. 6. Goemon from Lupin the 3rd. He's the funniest Samurai i've ever seen. And i love how he is alwys intmedating people with his sword. Even if there on his team. Sculptor
Twighlight Suzuka is pritty cool but then most of the time she just runs her opponent through stylisly. But then Theres Vicious he's cool and he gets abonus for being the big baddy in Cowboy Bebop... Do ether of the Ninja's in MGS/MGS2 count? They're cool. Auron from FFX is cool to. MisaoWeasel
It's Kenshin of course! Not only is he cute, But he is the absolute BEST!!!!
silpheedpilot
I would have to disagree with people on Kenshin being the BEST swordsman, and I hope this isn't "character bashin" But he has only gotten famous because of Cartoon Network. No offence to those who like the Anime Cartoon Network runs, thats really just my opionion about Kenshin. Now...down to the greatest swordsman alive! Jubei from Ninja Scroll. He would have to be one of my favorites. Anyways, not too many Ninja's can kill a man who really isn't supposed to be able to be killed.
I mean c'mon! He jumped into the air and killed almost 20 guys in a single jump! He held his breath for a while and sent a shockwave from his sword to cut a Devil's leg off. He killed a rock solid Devil, but with help from a very deadly female....He is faster then some can see. I mean, in the very beginning of the movie he throws a Rice Cake into the air, kills two guys, dodges a bullet, and slices another mans armor off. Sheaths his sword and catches the Rice Cake. He is my ALL TIME favorite swordsman, hands down.
