First of all, I think it's somewhat unnerving that you posted your [i]friend[/i]'s scenario only to scorn the actions which came into play.

As for fighting in general, I think people do it for the wrong reasons. Really, if everyone were logical, conflicts wouldn't exist. A lot of the time, those who don't "hit first" [read: the people who are here defending self-defense] are largely responsible for the antagonist's actions.

I also think the way some of you view fighting is laughable. The way in which modern entertainment has influenced many of the comments here amazes me.

Heh. I should've worded that better. What I meant when I mentioned Bushido is that people could just use a little bit more self-respect, or however you wanna put it.

The one who don't 'hit first' are responsible most of the time for the antagonist's actions? Whoever starts the fighting is the one without the logic and the one thinking irrationally. At the point that the antagonist attempts to make a blow, you are under the category of self-defense. The one who doesn't 'hit first' may be the one who provoked it, but the one who buys that and starts a fight is the bigger fool.

I couldn't have [i]possibly[/i] said better, my friend. Especially the last paragraph. The amount of testosterone in the air here is sickening. And I say that carefully...so as not to spill any of my own.

These times we live in are far from being peaceful. For as long as people obsess over their desires, the earth will never be truly at peace. I fear that the only peace people can find now in days is within themselves.

Okay I am not talking about world peace. I am saying is pretty calm. I haven't seen fighting since I can't remember. Is been a very long time. Of course robbing, kidnapping, murder and so on goes on everyday. But it depends on what one thinks that causes their actions. You can't control people completely so is pretty much impossible there to be 100% peace all over the place. We all think for ourselves and some persons don't think about doing anything good but causing chaos and making people suffer. 100% peace is impossible to obtain in my opinion. I don't think there would ever be able to be 100% peace. So think about it. In my opinion from what I see everyday it is a peaceful place.

O and the long wait for my respond is I haven't had much free time lately.
