Challenge: Where have all the staples gone?

They say that Necessity is the mother of Invention, so I say, let's put that to the test.

Here's the challenge: I challenge any duelists to make the best deck they can *without* using any of the followng cards:

Regeki
Mirror Force
Magic Jammer
Trap Hole
Monster Reborn
Pot of greed
Change of Heart
Summoned skull
Jinzo
Magic cylinder
Swords of Revealing Light
Witch of the Black Forest
Cyber Jar
Blue Eyes White Dragon
Imperial Order
Mystical Space Typhoon
Seven Tools of the Bandit
Gemini Elves
Dark Hole
Axe of Despair
Graceful Charity
Heavy Storm
Harpie's Feather Duster
Sinister Serpant
Sangan
Torriential Tribute

See, the point is, without some of the (admittedly) strongest and most useful cards in the game, a duelist would be forced to come up with new ways to combat opponents who will have some of those.

At the worst, you'll have to be a little more creative. At the best, you might think of winning card combos heretofor unthought of.

(So, is this a decent idea, or am I totally out in left field?)

BEWD isn't a staple lol. ^^

Well, that's the challenging part of the challenge, isn't it? I'm working on one, but it's hard, especially when you know your opponent will be using most of the cards on the list.

I'm not arrogant enough to assume I'm the best duelist around, so I started this up to see if anyone else could have better luck. The point is to think outside of the box.

I'd have more Fissures and Tributes to the Doomed, seeing as Trap Hole ain't available, maybe in place of Ekibyo Drakmord. Spear Cretin could be useful too, if you wanted to bring back a monster. Also, I might have three Nimble Momongas (useful little things, they are) and/or Enchanted Javelins in there too, for more protection. In place of some others, of course.

BTW, BEWD is a staple card since you can get it in a starter deck.
Just because it's in a starter deck, doesn't mean its a staple.
Would you consider Silverfang a staple?
Besides, regardless of starter decks, BEWD really isn't anything too special.

You've put up quite a challenge Deathbug... 'Specially since your making me give up Jinzo, BEWD, and Monster Reborn. Feh. I'll find a way.

BTW, BEWD is a staple card since you can get it in a starter deck. Plus, there's bunch of card combos you can use for it.
A staple is a card that can be considered for any deck regardless of the theme such as Raigeki or Harpy's Feather Sweep. BEWD is not a staple ^^.

I don't really understand the point of this challenge. If it was the "don't use any staple that is super rare or above" challenge to make a point, but not using staples that are readily available to anyone. If you can't even afford a starter deck, then you shouldn't be playing... The list and challenge would make more of a point if it didn't have cards that are common. Here's a more "point-making" list:

Raigeki
Mirror Force
Magic Jammer (it's a common now, but let's let it slide since it's only in one starter)
Jinzo
Magic cylinder
Swords of Revealing Light
Imperial Order
Mystical Space Typhoon (same as Magic Jammer)
Seven Tools of the Bandit (same as MJ)
Gemini Elves
Axe of Despair
Graceful Charity (same as MJ)
Heavy Storm
Harpie's Feather Duster
Sinister Serpant
Torriential Tribute

Really, what point are you trying to make? If you were tyring to make the point that it's impossible to make a decent deck without an exorbant amount of cash or luck, then there's no point in putting things that can easily be obtained. If the list was like the one I just made, then I could show you a good deck, haha. :)

That isn't the point of the thread. The point is to see whether people can make up for not having any staples and to see whether such a deck can be made. It's just an interesting challange to do. Like DeathBug said, we'd have to think harder and be more creative. Some cards, although easily obtained (e.g. in Starter Decks), can still be really crucial to a deck. And I'm sure some people do build decks from scratch without a starter, although getting a rulebook and playing field may be difficult, but that's not the point. The point is to try and create a deck which could be used IF you didn't have any staples. It's a hypothetical situation and an interesting challenge. Whether it would or could actually happen is another question.

Please try and keep posts above a certain length, HoT LaVa. Were it not to do with the topic, that would be an entirely SPAM post.

A staple is a card that should be in every deck, regardless of the theme. Some of the cards listed aren't exactly staples, but can be very useful to have in a Deck anyway.

at 1 point i had a deck with none of the staples. it worked really well. but i messed with it so much now i dont think i can get it back that way. the best way to make a good none staple deck is to think what monsters are more commonly used and cards (such as the staples) and think of ways to replace them with more unused cards (i wish i didnt mess with my deck so i could show you it).
