::notices the Paintshop Pro, Paintshop part:: You have same programs there? lol, jk, you probably meant Photoshop right?
Anyways, no one can "teach" you on how to make a banner... You gotta have imagination... I personally only use Photoshop and Image Ready, but only Photoshop is already enough, because I used to use it... Now, you can search for some tutorials with google or any other search engines, and search for "photoshop tutorials"... You will get lots of results, and some will help you finding what you want, and other than that, I can only say, originality is the key ;)

The main idea would be to experiment, transparency and the other filters are really great, and, as DD said, internet tutorials are a godsend ^_^

It's like with anything else you do in life ^_^ Practise makes perfect! Just try things and see how they look. Then try lotsa things at the same time and see how they work. If they don't, just bin it and try again with something else ^____^;;

well, i started making banners a while ago too, you should start using a program name fireworks, its far more easy to use, because it less complex. after having some expiriance, you can use photoshop, and some of the features in the fireworks, to make the perfect banner.

use transperency, its ussually best, and try taking pics that have some similiar backround... that is if you are working in photoshop...

I'm not sure if this thread is really liable. I mean, making banner is such a general topic, that it's impossible to really discuss through a thread as such. I would recommend finding tutorials on the internet, trying to copy what other people have done, or just playing around with the program. I think that's just about how I got started, except without tutorials.
