Epitome
Has anyone read any of his poems and literature. We're doing poems in reading and I must say, he is an excellent writer. He has a ton of famous poems and even read one at the inaugouration(how ever you spell that) of President JFK. Has anyone read any?
Failed_Attempts
I've read his poems, he's a great poet, too bad I can't remember the poems I have read though. However, Sylvia Plath is my favourite, but, I think that I shall look into more Frost. He's in my 9th grade Literature books. *runs off to read his poems*
Epitome
My favorite is Mending Wall. Its great, you should read it some time. I like it. Well post some up here if you know of any.
Mitch
I have of course heard of Frost. I have a complete collection of his works as well. I'm reading through it very slowly. His poems have a lot to do with God and nature. Those are the main things. But he's all over the place most of the time. He's probably one of my favorite poets. He isn't the favorite poet of mine or anything, but he's pretty good.
Sara
Really? You like the mending wall one? I didn't mind it, but my teacher picked it to death... I liked the bit about the trees invading each man's property, though. I think my favorite is "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening." It's just so..perfect. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep...but I have promises to keep...and miles to go, before I sleep... *shivers* And "The Road not Taken," of course. I think that's his best known, is it not? Or perhaps just the one I was most familiar with first.
Mei
Ahh....Robert Frost, wonderful poet.^^ He's very expressive, but in a riddling way. I personally like his "Fire and Ice" poem. It's quite accurate if you interpret it correctly.
Sara
Fire and Ice. *thwacks self on forehead* Frost wrote that. ......I knew that. *laughs self consciously* Parts of it have been running through my head all week, but I couldn't remember the whole thing, and I coudn't look it up in my poetry ref books, because I wasn't sure of the phrasing of the first line, or who wrote it... *realizes she is rambling, and falls quiet* Anyway, thank you!
Lady Asphyxia
One of these days, I'll die of all these fortunate coincidences. I'm actually doing a Peotry Analyses on Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken". I agree with Mei; "Fire and Ice" is my favorite poem -- it's short and simple, and really quite effective. In Year Nine I could recite it by heart. I really liked "Mending Wall", mainly because of his reference to Lord Byron's "She Walks In Beauty". I thought it witty and funny. I tried to explain it to my other friends, but they don't have my sense of humor. I think "The Road Not Taken" is the most well known poem of Frost's, and while "Fire and Ice" is the first poem I'd heard of his, "The Road Not Taken" is one I've actually had a vauge inkling of for a long time.
