Anime My thoughts on the Dragon Ball Z Movie

I'd say that Jet Li get the role of Vegeta,Jackie Chan get the role of Goku,Noriyuki Morita get the role of Master Roshi,Williw Chi as Gohan,and Robin Shou as Trunks.I know I maybe sound weird but that's who i think who should get the parts.

Didn't the one who played Lou in Mortal combat did the voice for Goku. Also he has the hair. But he bigest probblem is to find someone that shorter the how plays goku and yet just a mucluar.

What FUNimation has done is make a poll about which actors fans would like to see play the characters. Jet Li got the votes for Goku, while Vin Diesel got the votes for Piccoro. If we look at FUNimation's history with the franchise, we should expect the complete opposite of what the fans want. -.-

As far as the movie goes, I can't see how it will happen. I can't even imagine a quality film with the right crew, cast, and high budget. This is a movie based on an anime, not a comic book. Spider-Man, X-Men and all the others are special characters brought in a supposedly "real" word. Dragon Ball, on the other hand, is already a different world in itself.

There is no way the anime hair will look "ok" in a live action film, or that it won't be anything more than ridiculous. The film crew will have to recreate fight scenes in the air, and include a great amount of special effects, as far as ki attacks and transformations go. Also, all enemies, and most of the Earth's habitants aren't human... far from it, actually. Honestly, I don't see this project as anything more than laughable. If they try to be as true to the anime as possible, as far as the physics and the cosmetics of the show are concerned, the movie will end up being the laughing stock of the season. If they eliminate things that are key to the anime, or edit things to fit the directors's own view of the show, we'll end up with a product that's totally different from Dragon Ball.

I'm usually optimistic, but more than optimistic I'm realistic, and this movie has as much of a chance of being a good film as I have a chance of starring in the role of Bra.

this movie is impossible. dbz characters move at super high speeds, and their punches cant even be seen cuz its like a blur.

Oh, for crying out loud...!

FUNImation did NOT slaughter DBZ! It has done...NOTHING! Other then translate it! But in translation, some of the majesty HAS to be lost!! Or would you rather hear Goku, in a painfully high-pitched voice, say "Majin Buu stronger is so much enemy face before I have"?!

Now, on topic.

This will probably take place EARLY in DBZ. Such as, the DBZ movie. the FIRST one.

Or not. They might make Freiza come into it for shits and giggles.

Anyway...

first off hair. They'll take liberties. Goku, Vegeta, and crew will have shorter hair. They'll just make it so that the hair is pretty messy. Bulma will not have entirely blue hair, probably just streaks.

Secondly, energy attacks. This poses no problem.

Thirdly, transformations. This may pose some problems, as it would look silly. Therefor, they'll likely take some liberties. Extreme liberties. As in, make a Super Saiyin look like a Saiyin x4. However they should do a descent enough job.

Fourthly, flying. Not a problem.

Fifthly, fighting speed. Again, liberties will be taken. It will be done in Matrix style.

Sixthly, acting. Keanu Reeves is an idiot but can act serious despite his idiocy, much like Goku, so he really isn't as bad a choice as you think he is. Vinny is too tall to play Vegeta, but they may take liberties and/or do some editing. They'd pull in a random kid to play Gohan, some chick to play Bulma, and pull in some nameless actors to play Piccolo, Tien, Krillen, etc. Actually...Vinny could play Nappa.

Shenron will be voiced by Sean Connery. Shut up, he will. SHUT UP, do NOT INSULT [u][i][COLOR=crimson][SIZE=4]The Sean[/SIZE][/COLOR][/i][/u]

The story will be based around getting the Dragonballs, not the comming of the Saiyins or the like. They might chuck in Freiza as someone who wants the Dragonballs, but unlikely, they'll probably instead choose to make Vegeta the opponent.

not a problem with todays technology. they can easily make a person shorter and more buff. do you people know how far these live movies are going to go? i hope they'll add the dbz anime movies in it.
