The mystery surrounding Shadi

I saw somewhere in Shonen Jump with Shadi stating that he was the servant of Anubis. Added to the fact that he holds two Millenium items does that make him one of the strongest item holders? And does he participate in going against Marick and Bakura or does he just appears every now and then? I think he's kind of interesting because of the power of his Scale and the Key.

Well, Anubis was originally the god of the dead until Osiris took his place, but he's regarded as the god of embalming and cemeteries. As to Shadi himself, he's the Guardian of the Items, so it kinda makes sense for him to own at least 1. I think he actually knows Marik and Ishizu.

As to the powers of his Items, we've already seen the Key allow him into someone else's mind. Rumors are that it can also
change someone else's personality,
but that's unfounded. The original name was the Millenium Ankh, which was a symbol of life.

The Scales in Egyptian mythology are traced to the symbolic ritual known as the Weighing of the Heart. Basically the heart of the person wanting to pass into the Afterlife was weighed against the principles of truth and justice (symbolized by an ostrich feather). If the heart balanced with it, the person would be allowed to pass on to the Afterlife. If the person had done lots of wrong things, the heart would be heavy and tip the scales. The heart would then be eaten by a monster called Ammit and because the heart was needed to get to the Afterlife, the person was doomed to oblivion. The Millenium Scales in the show will probably be used to judge people and if necessary send them to the Shadow Realm.

if you read shonen jump you would know that the millenium key can change peoples personality ( as shown in the newest shonen jump) and ammit is also shown in shonen jump.

Yeah, Shadi can "redecorate" a soul room so the person can be put under his control (this is called "Marionette Design").
In order to bring out Yami, Shadi put Yugi's friends in danger. He turned Anzu into a doll and managed to bring out Yami. Shadi then challenged him to a Shadow Game where the strength of one's mind is tested. There are four small ushebti (figures originally buried with pharaohs in their tombs) anchoring the bridge Anzu is standing on to the ground. If Yami's mental strength falters, one ushebti will break and bring Anzu closer to her death. To win, Yami must break Shadi's ushebti before all of his break.

Sadly, we'll have to wait until next month to find out since that's where that chapter (for reference, it's Chapter 17) ended and I don't know of or have access to any other sources for it. Sorry about that.
Yes...sadly...but we all know how it's gonna end...Yami's gonna end up saving Anzu (Darn! I hate Anzu!) and Shadi's gonna be all like "You truly are a powerful individual" and maybe there will be a flashback to when Yugi was thinking about Anzu playing basketball! I got in trouble for reading that in school...-_-;;

Hehe I pity you.

Here is the secret to bringing manga to school: Only bring the stuff with no visual bad things... And hide in the corner and read it without being suspicious.. Manga's all over my school so it's common there...

I get the issues a month early, so I have already read July and August. As you well know, Anzu manages to escape.:angry2:

The second puzzle, as Shadi says, is this "The shadow game... Concentration or Death." The game is like Concentration, where you find pairs one at a time. But since there are nine plates, Yugi must find out what the ninth plate is, without flipping any tiles. Obviously, he gets it right by saying that the middle is the mouth of Ammit, and the pairs are eyes, ears, nostrils, and hands. By the way, this is timed. He gets it right and Ammit releases him.:flaming:

Jonouchi (Joey), in the meantime, was being chased by the zombie.:) He falls out the window to land on a ridge.:therock: He sees Anzu (Tea), and starts crawling to her. But unfortunatly for him (not for me) the zombie follows to keep chasing him.

The final game is when Yugi and an illusion of "mean" Jonouchi, are trapped on a part of the platform surrounded by a bottomless pit. They throw the puzzle on the ground, and the person has to walk two steps that way. Jonouchi "roles" first. Yugi steps and now it's his turn. Then Yugi, to the surprise of Shadi, passes his turn. Jonouchi roles again. To more steps for Yugi. (if only he died here!!):nope: Then he passes AGAIN!! Then to the surprise of Shadi, ONCE again!!, Jonouchi dissapears. Friendship saves Yugi, and after this is explained to Shadi, his statue is broken, sending the millenium key to Anzu.

Then she wakes up, and then Jonouchi tells her to walk back onto the roof, and then they give the item to the zombie professor, too. All is well, right? Right. Then Shadi makes a silent exit, saying, "We'll meet again!" (as if he wouldn't!!)

Shadi is not the powerfulest even though he almost kills yami yugi in the shonen jump.He is the one who gave pegasus his millenium eye.Shadi only appires ones or twise in the anime but a couple of manga chapters are with him in it.Shadi dous not help in defeating bakura or marik but they just had to put him in the anime because he is the one who gives pegasus the eye.

In Battle Blimp,
he also saves Duke and Tristan's lives after they almost fall off the top after fighting over Serenity while looking for Bakura's Millennium Ring. He also knows Ishizu- the two of them have a short conversation.
He seems a pretty integral character, if only so far for expositionary purposes. I reckon his Items and powers will come into play more towards the end of the entire saga.
Perhaps he'll be the one who frees Yami after he gets possessed *shrugs*. It's just an idea, but you never know. I guess we'll have to find out.
Guest Altron Gundam
Shadi, like Kaiba is an incarnation one of the ancient priests of ancient Egypt that served under the Pharaoh. He wields the Millenium Ahnk and Millenium Scale.
He is also the one that came to Malik's Ishtahl family and told Malik it was the Pharaoh who killed his father, thus Malik's intentions to destroy the Pharaoh. It is only Yami Malik, who arised after the seal on him on Rishid(Odeon) was broken, who desires to create nothingness by destroying the world and leaving nothing but himself.
