Domon
What he means is that the REAL card game was made and released in Japan just as Battle City began which in Japan was around 1999 I think, if I'm wrong correct me. So that's why Duelist Kingdom was so full of mistakes. That's what he meant. Hope I cleared that up for ya. ~_^
The Majin
One thing that really got on my nervs is the ep i watched today where yugi versed arcadia and arcadia used nightmare chains to tie up yugi's dark magician then uses ecto-plasm to fire a shot at his life points to beat him but then dark magician is supposed to be stuck but projects himself to block the attack it was pretty stupid i they always talk bout the heart of the cards if i ever play someone and they say that i will laugh at them :P
Masterdramon
YUgi said that that happened because when you use Ecto-plasm, the soul of every monster you call the name of is extracted, though I'm not sure that applies to the real card.
Kumori Urufu
Originally posted by Shinryuu(GP) Lumis and Umbra summoned Masked Beast w/ Mask of Restrict in play. This should be impossible since the Mask prevents anyone from Tributing (no matter what the situation) a monster.
i can explain that... earlier, umbra had played some continuous magic card that negated the negative effects of a magic/trap card that he or lumis would play, so the effect just didn't count for them. (remember, he started this with mask of brutality and said that with it, he wouldn't have to pay the 1000 life points every turn) Also, i am confused at how the summoned skull is able to power up Alpha the Magnet Warrior (Ep. 2 of Yugi's duel with Seeker). it doesn't say he can do that on either of the cards. And, ever notice that when yugi uses the trap card "Shift" it's a magic card called "Monster Replace"? Time Wizard also never fuses with Baby Dragon (like he should), but doesn't it seem like he's always gone after Thousand Dragon pops up? Lastly, in the duelist kingdom arc, summoned skull's defense would constantly change between 1200 and 2100 Weird :)
Guest Altron Gundam
Bloopers aren't changes in monster/magic effects that the showmakers used to fit the duel circumstance, bloopers are like wrong stats and something like the Jounouchi / Insector Haga battle where the LP count went to 0 for Jounouchi when he had somtin like 300-1000 LP left... Guest EMPER0R_
Another error was in Yugi vs. Pegasus when the SS had different defence points. Bones also put Cry Of The Living Dead in the monster slot.
magic_raditz
What the heck is cry of the living dead? what does it do? i dont remember bonz playing any card with that name.
Kumori Urufu
I think that EMPEROR_DRAGON means "Call of the Haunted" (the thing that brought clown zombie, armored zombie and dragon zombie out)
magic_raditz
Oh! is that like its japanese name or something?
Kumori Urufu
i'm not sure... It probably is, but... who knows?
magic_raditz
It however is a cool name.... but i dunno if its as good as call of the haunted....
Imp
Originally posted by Solo Tremaine Jam Breeding Machine doesn't say anything about the Slime Tokens not being used as Tributes- you just can't summon or special summon any other monster to the field while that card is in play.
It doesn't say so on the card, but it says so in the rules. The token rule says "Tokens may not be used as tributes." So, that actually was a mistake, the one that Strings made!
Jagan
When Joey duels Weevil, he beets Moth. Then Weevil brings out Insect Queen with it's ATK at 2700. Moth's ATK: 3500. The boy said the Quen insect was more powerful than the Moth. I think it was Keith or someone, they used Curse of iend and instead of switching battle positions, it switched positions and ATK/DEF power. gaia717
Also in Duel Identity when Yugi play the Summoned Skull it shows it stats as 2500/2300. Another mistake like that is Joeys duel againt bandit keith thr 1000 dragons stats were posted as 2400/2500. Also in Joeys duel with Weevil when joey finishes by attacking with gearfried he calls him gearfield.
Jagan
In the latest ep, Red eyes atacks Joey. Joey's life points go from 4000 to 2400. Red Eyes Attack is 2400. When Joey washed up Mako's sea, what happened to the kiler wahle? Obelisk did attack the BEUD!
Digital Monster
Originally posted by Jagan When Joey washed up Mako's sea, what happened to the whale?
It was already destroyed before that point by Joey's Panther Warrior. Mako then played Return of the Doomed and summoned the monster he resurrected (Legendary Fisherman). It was then that Joey played Giant Trunade to suck up the sea, expose the Legendary Fisherman and lower his attack points.
Imp
More mistakes: When Pegasus dueled Yugi (and Kaiba), there were some errors with Toon World. The card says that Toon World requires a 1000 Life Point-payment to activate it. Also, Pegasus was supposed to lose 500 life points every time his Toon monsters attacked. When Mai dueled Yugi, she activated a Mirror Wall. She was supposed to lose 2000 (or is it 1000?) life points every turn because of its effect, but she didn't. You can't have two Witches of the Black Forest in your deck because they're Limited cards. Rebecca violated that rule. You can't two of the same piece of Exodia in you deck because they're Limited cards. Rare Hunter violated that rule. Thousand Dragon is a Fusion Monster (Time Wizard+Baby Dragon). Joey never activated Polymerization when summoning it. Magical Hats is a trap card, as someone already said. Also, when the turn is over, all the hats are supposed to be destroyed, and they are not hidden (I think...). Magic Cylinder doesn't require a Magician card to activate, although Yugi thought it did. (in his duel with Strings)
Jagan
In Friends till the End 1, aren't the rare hunters supposed to be under Marak's control?
Marik_Duelist
Insect Queen got stronger coz she ate other monsters right? and why does no-one sacrifice any monsters in yugioh to summon stronger monsters. im sure they did but not always.
Digital Monster
Well, the real card game wasn't actually released until sometime around the Battle City saga, which accounts for most of the inconsistencies in Duellist Kingdom (the rules simply hadn't been set in stone at that stage.) DK rules did not require sacrifices for strong monsters.
Imp
Another mistake made throughout the entire show is that the amount of life points each player has when the duel begins is different from in the card game. In the show, the duelists start out with 2000LP (Duelist Kingdom) or 4000LP (Battle City). In the actual card game (and in the other games, including WWE) each player starts out with 8000LP. Kumori Urufu
In Yugi's duel with Arkana, Dark Magician Girl's attack should have been 2900 when he first summoned her because when Yugi played Card Destruction, Arkana not only had a Dark Magician in his hand, but a Magician of Black Chaos as well (you can see it if you look very closely). Since DMG gains 300 atk for every Dark Magician and Magician of Black Chaos in both player's graveyards, she should've had more atk points than she actually did. Kumori Urufu
Originally posted by Exodus And what do WWE have to does with Yu-Gi-Oh?
She means WorldWide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel. It's a Yu-Gi-Oh game for GBA. Also, I thought of another mistake. In Yugi's duel with Rebecca Hawkins, Cannon Soldier's atk was only 400 when it's supposed to be 1400. Cannon Soldier also only did 400 points of direct damage when using his effect. He should've done 500.
WolfofDarkstar
effects in the show and attack points for that matter are not always the same in the show as in real life (that goes for japanese cards compared to american cards as well).
