Well, I am not suprised to see a David Star in YGO. I mean, it is supposed to be based off Egypt and the Egyptians had Jewish slaves way back when. So I personally am not really shocked.

Uhh That isn't the star of david. Its a pentagram. Because the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl are called in Japan. Black Magician and Black Magician Girl. They changed those names so it didn't seem so cultish i guess. Just thought I'd clear that up for you.

The Pentagram was replaced with a normal button in the English version. No Pentagram/Hexagran/Ankh/halos/demonic horns/crosses (though there are irregularities) were allowed in english. BUT if you look carefully at Hysteric Fairy, the book it's holding have an ankh on it.

Not entirely true. They left the crosses that were on the dueling platforms in the Joy VS Bones duel. I know that that would be kinda hard to get rid of, but still there's the exception. They also leave the Ankh on Exodia's chest, you just never see much of it.

I think the changing of Black Magician to Dark Magician may have been a politically correct move to avoid racial discrimination. At least it would have been in the UK.

But anyway, that is actually a six-sided star- you can tell by the angles. It's the same on the Japanese version of the Spellbinding Circle.

I think these kind of symbols are allowed on books and things, but not to stand on their own. Monster Reborn was originally a gigantic Ankh, but I think that could have caused a slight stir. But seeing it on books or as a pendant, cloak pin or whatever is more subtle. People wear those kinds of things anyway.

About Exodia... the English version has a large white piece of material on his chest that looks really out of place. Was it there on the Japanese version, or did it have a design on it which was edited out?

I was thinking of the cards. They edited the crosses on Call of the Haunted (not on Gravekeeper's Servant, though, for some reason)

Even without the symbols that have been edited, you can still tell that Yu Gi Oh deals heavily within the occult and black magic and satanism to some degree, The pyramid which is Yu Gi's puzzle and the main symbol on the opening and ending creits of Yu Gi Oh is actually a well known Satanist and freemason sybol, it also appears omn the back of the American $20 dollar note.

Notice the pyramid, it's top is levitating off the rest of the pyramid as an all seeing eye looks on humanity. now notice Yu Gi's pyramid

You'll se that the symbols are almost Identical, Yu Gi's even has the levitating top, albeit it's uspide down and they eyes on the bottom piece. It's still very simillar.

Of course, to say that Yu-Gi-Oh is based around Satanism probably isn't true. They are similar, but it may just be coincidence that this is so. The eye on the Millennium Puzzle is The Eye of Ra (or something very similar), a well-known egyptian symbol and one that most of the audience will be able to identify with.

The eye on the M. Puzzle is the Eye of Horus (the udjat eye), it's supposed to be a symbol of wisdom and healing. Horus' eye (or eyes depending which version you read) was gouged out by Seth, but eventually got them put back in again. I see reflections in the Pegasus-Bakura incident...

How do you explain that Freemasons have got anything to do with Ancient Egypt and/or Satanism?

Wouldja mind spelling "Yugi" without a capital G and a space? Also, I had a CPU backround and my dad thought the star thingy was the star of David, so he let me keep it.

Don't post comments that are irrelevant to the thread, please. And don't quote so much unless it's really necessary- it gets hard to read the thread otherwise. -Solo

Well, if they're gonna be editin stuff like that in the English version, it looks like we wont be gettin the end of the Alcatraz Tower saga or Season 5 here at all since in season 5, thats all you see is somethin that resembles a pentagram(I dont know exactly what you would call that symbol though. It looks like a pentagram, except it has one more edge on it. Here is a few screen shots I took of the many times they show this image...within 1 episode(
from the episode where Yami is possessed.
).

Note: THIS IMAGE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS!! If you havent seen the eps from season 5(which is after the Alcatraz Tower saga)and dont want anything ruined for you, then dont view this image. But if you just want to see the image I'm talkin about, and dont care about spoilers then dont view this image.

For those that view that image, what in the world would you call that? A semi pentagram or what? But if you ask me, I seriously doubt that season 5 will be shown here in the states unless they find someone else to dub it and finally come out wit uncut eps. I mean goodness, they're editin little stuff like buttons. What makes you think they're gonna even come close to showin this entire season here in the states. 4Kids aint about to show this season if they're editin small stuff like buttons.

The Star of David is similar to a pentagram.. So is a sign in dark religions and magic. Oftentimes in dark stuff you'll see a shape like that... I doubt Dark Magician Girl is Jewish, but she DOES perform magic. But wow, Jinzouningen17, that will be hard to edit.. Heh. But 4Kids entertainment will probably come up with some silly way to cover up vaguely religious symbols..

Solo Tremaine: No, there isn't a piece of cloth on Exodia in the Japanese version. *Attaches picture.*

Jinzouningen17: They could just cut the whole thing out, since it's only a anime filler. That symbol is everywhere in that filler.

Everyone: *Blinks.* I don't have anything to say, that hasn't been said before.

They borrowed their symbols from the ancient Egyptians.

I'm not saying they created the symbols at all, what i meant was they do and are using those symbols in their occults, not saying all do, if you are a free mason who does not use that symbol ad was offended, then I apologize. If I didn't explain this correctly, or mislead you, then Sorry, I didn't mean to do so.

I was also confused about how to put Yugi's name, since it's spelled on the titles here "Yu-Gi-Oh" I didn't know it was supposed to be put together like that.

I know it was a while ago I posted that, but I felt the need to backtrack on a few thigns seen as some peope took offense to what i said, and how I spelled Yugi's name.
