But I warn that I doubt I'll be accepting anyone else into the rp... If you really want in, PM me ^_^

With your starting posts just introduce yourselves, don't move any further than the day you arrive. Your hosts pick you up from the airport and you get "settled" into your new home. My next post will deal with the beginning of the school day, and then more freedom will appear in regards to post quantity.

Well, knock yourselves out ^______^!!

Subject: Kyouiku Exchange

Attention student,

As you know, you have been chosen to participate in an overseas exchange between Kyouiku High School and numerous sister schools throughout the globe. Places are limited, as you also know, and the departure date is drawing near.

Teachers from all your schools have given me lists of information, including email addresses, from students interested in the exchange, and I am seeking confirmation of these lists. Please reply to this email indicating whether you wish to participate so host families can be informed and pairs can be made.

I also ask that students write an introduction in English for their host, so interests and so on can be matched evenly. Include any details you deem necessary (allergies, likes and dislikes, gender and so on.)

I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Yours sincerely,
Arisugawa Izumi
(Kyouiku High - Headmistress)

That was the email Nathan had received a few weeks ago, and now as he sat on the plane peering out of the tiny window at drifting clouds he realised he was looking forward to meeting his host, Ryuichi. They?d exchanged several emails since their headmistress had dished out the addresses.

Several hours later, Nathan had got off the plane, and with a backpack over one shoulder he glanced about earnestly. Everyone looked so different? The airport seemed so busy. He?d prepped himself by telling himself to look for a family that looked typically Japanese. He?d seen a photo of the family he was looking for, but to him, the Japanese all looked the same.
?Oi!? yelled a voice suddenly, catching Nathan?s attention. ?Nathan!??
The meeting was? entertaining, when reflected on later, Nathan realised. Ryuichi?s family were wonderfully warm towards him, especially the younger sister, Hikaru, and while her English left something to be desired, it certainly wasn?t through a lack of trying. She kept calling him ?Na-chan?, which confused him at first until he figured that, on a page, his name would be pronounced ?Naa-than?. The familiarity of her calling him ?-chan? was also comforting. The parents were, although not willing to invade his personal ?bubble?, still very warm towards him, often looking to Ryuichi to translate for them.
?Don?t worry about them,? confided Ryuichi, grinning a little. ?They don?t know much English, but they?re really happy you?re here.?
?I appreciate it,? admitted Nathan honestly. It could have been a heck of a lot worse.

?So, do you miss them yet??
Jetlagged, but still willing to hang about for another hour or so before sleep, Nathan glanced up at Ryuichi?s question. ?What??
The car trip from the airport had only been half an hour, but it seemed like it had been forever. He?d been travelling for hours and, even though he hadn?t done anything per se, the trip had worn him out. How come when you don?t do anything it?s the most tiring thing you?ve ever done?
?Your parents?? Do you miss them yet??
With a slight smile, Nathan nodded. He?d spoken to them on the phone as soon as he?d set foot in the house. He?d nearly cried. He got homesick too easily, he decided.
Ryuichi smiled slightly. ?You might want to get some sleep.?
?Hmm? Why??
?Arisugawa-san has a full day planned for us tomorrow.? Ryuichi said this with a slight smirk. ?She said she doesn?t care if you?ve been travelling all night. You?re all young and energetic.?
?Bah!?
?That?s what most of us said,? confided Ryuichi. ?But she was decided.?
Nathan paused, before putting another query to his host. ?Will I meet the other students tomorrow??
?Yes, of course you will.?
?That?ll be fun.?
Ryuichi did nothing but roll his eyes good-humouredly. ?Meeting people is always fun. Everyone wants to meet you.?
Nathan was quietly glad of that fact. It was nice to know he was happily expected?

OOC (again):
I'm also gonna ask that you explain any Japanese words/culture you've used during the course of your post... Like I shall do here ^___^

-chan -- Is a suffix added to the end of a name to indicate endearment

We're not going to be perfect, as discovered in the recruitment thread for this same RP, but we're here to have fun! If we get things wrong, it's a learning curve ^___^

Nuna was rudly awakened by an airhostess, telling her that the plane was due to land within the next ten minuets. She grumbled her thanks and quickly sat up and stuffed a couple of things in her handluggage. She wasn't quite sure when she had fallen asleep but she knew it would be slightly better than meeting Yuki's family and Yuki herself, in a half asleep form.

The plane eventually landed and she got up in order to get off. The plane was unfortunatly packed with all sorts of people, many students and teachers on the exchange or others who had taken early holidays. She was pushed about a bit and one kid who could not have been older that twelve managed repetadly to stand on her foot five times before his father told him to stop it.

Finally she got out of the plane, got ahold of her bags and headed to the airport longue. "Arrr, great. How am I meant to find anyone here?" she asked to herself, irratly brushing a stray piece of ginger hair out of her eyes. She quickly hunted in her bag and pulled out a photo which she had recieved via mail of Yuki and her family. A quick scan told her that she was not going to have a real problem finding them.

She tried to recall Yuki's last e-mail which said where they would meet her. 'By the blue gate, next to the coffee machine'. She looked around for the blue gate and could see nothing of that description. She sighed, maybe if she waited here they would find her...she was easy to spot. How many bright ginger haired scottish girls where there likely to be in Japan? She sat down on her luggage and continued to hunt around.

A pink ball smacked off the side of her head and a young girl raced over, "Gomen" she said quickly picking it up and running off again. "No problem" said Nun, rubbing the side of her head lightly and following the girl as she ran back to her family. "Nuna?" asked a voice behind her. She turned and saw a lady dressed in a very office style, "Hai" she repilied not entirely sure who this lady was. "Domo, Yuki.." a pause, "Yuki! Nuna-chan" called the woman.

Nuna stood up and smiled as a familiar looking black haired girl ran towards her, "Nuna-chan" she said pulling her into a big hug. "Yuki-chan" replied Nun as soon as she could breath.
"It's good to finally meet you, Nuna-chan" said Yuki, beaming as her father appeared.
"I'm glad to meet you two" said Nuna.
"Yuki-san, korosu ka?" asked her father, smiling humorisly
"Otouto-san, Nuna-chan Scotland" said Yuki, playfully punching him.
"Hai, Yuki, hai. Hi Nuna-chan" said Yuki's father, picking up Nuna's things.

They headed out of the airport and soon Nuna and Yuki were chatting away, of cause they kept saying things wrong much to their amusment as well as Yuki's parents. "I'm looking foreward to this so much" said Nuna as they eventually pulled up outside Yuki's house.
"I am to, Nun-chan, I am to" said Yuki, clapping her hands.

Japanese translations: (or as close as I can get ^_^)
Gomen - sorry
Domo - thank you
Korosu ka - who
Otouto-san - father (hopefully I've spelt it right)
Hai - yes

Domino looked at his watch and then at the picture that had been e-mailed to him by his host. In the photograph was a well dressed, Japanese family of five, with a mother and father, and two sons and a daughter. The oldest son, Domino's host, was about two years older than he was and bespectacled. His hair was long and black, and his eyes were a dark brown.
"Where could they be? I'm at the right gate, aren't I?" He thought.
He looked around the crowded airport. A pony-tailed girl was waving to him. No, not to him, probably to someone behind him. He walked around a little, looking for his host family.
"Dominic Charlie White?"
He turned at the mention of his name. It was the girl who had been waving. She looked very familiar...The girl bowed and then pulled out a picture of him from her purse and pointed at it. He bowed akwardly.
"You're, Dominic Charlie White, aren't you?" She asked, still pointing at the picture.
"Uhh...yeah. Do I know you? How did you get my picture?"
She smiled.
"I'm Tamura Miyuki, Masato's younger sister."
Domino looked at the picture in his hand. That was why she looked so familiar.
"So where's Masato? He was supposed to meet me, wasn't he?"
Myuki nodded.
"Yes. But he had to go with my father to a university. Your trip was going to be canceled but I volunteered to be your host. Do you need some help with your luggage, Dominic? My mother and younger brother are bringing the car around to the front."
Domino shook his head.
"No thank you, I can get them. And call me Domino. All of my friends do."

OOC: (Don't take my word on any of this.) The Japanese bow instead of shaking hands. I believe they look down on physical contact, (at least between strangers). Also, they say their surnames before their first names.

Jolisa sat in her seat and had a panic look on her face because she was afraid of planes. The plane was due to land in 10 minutes. She wasn`t sure if she was going to fit in because she only knew a little Japanese.

Finally, the flight landed. She looked around the airport for Sayaka and her family. She looked at the picture she had then she looked again. She finally found them and thought she might practice introducing herself in Japanese.

Jolisa:Watakushi wa Smith Jolisa (I am Jolisa Smith. Used for polite people)
Sayaka:Hi, I am Sayaka and this is my family.

Jolisa smiled and not sure of the proper greeting, she shook the hands of everyone in the family.

Lain sighed quietly as he shifted uneasily in his seat. The plane journey had not been the greatest of experiences and if he was being true to himself, he would have been throwing himself off the machine by now. Looking around for something, *anything* to distract him the blonde frowned slightly, the picture of his host family, that was once clutched almost desperatly between overly pale fingers was gone, almost as if it had dissappeared into thin air.

"Just greaaaat"

He mentally scolded himself as he swung deep grey eyes to watch the other passengers on the plane. All we're smiling, little children running around with obvious excitement, teenagers around the same age as him-their eyes sparkling with the prospect of visiting a new country, adults with the same weary yet content expression he had witnessed so many times, they were glad to be home.
It was the kind looking hostess that broke him from the thoughts beginning to surround him. For someone of Japanese descent, her english was perfect, impecable. Lain smiled slightly at the woman as he nodded and fastened his seatbelt, vaguely wondering if his host's english was as good.
Yet still, he now had the unwanted task of trying to remember what his host looked like, without the picture to aid him he hoped luck was on his side.

**********

A smooth plane land and thirty minutes later. Lain found himself waiting in the reception lounge to be greeted. He scowled as he looked frantically around for someone he might recognise, although his face remained passive to passers by, his clenched fists gave everything away. Grabbing hold of his luggage and pushing unusual white-blonde strands of hair from his eyes with his free hand, Lain began moving through the many crowds of people, cursing mentally under his breath. He didn't like the idea of being lost in a strange country.

It was the yelling that made him turn around, swinging on the balls of his feet Lain found himself almost bumping into a boy atleast a head taller than him.
"Uh...summimasen!!" the blonde muttered, beginning to move away from the figure
"Its fine...your.." Aizawa Kane frowned slightly as his tongue tried to pronounce the boys name, which he knew as of "Lain"
"Your..La~in..right?"
Lain mentally breathed a sigh of relief as he dropped his bags where he stood, wincing slightly as one of the heavier cases landed directly on his foot.
"Yeah...your..Kane i assume?"
Kane smirked as he moved backwards slightly, bowing towards the shorter boy, however not allowing his eyes to leave the form.
"Aizawa kane at your service"
Lain allowed himself a small laugh as Kane bent to pick up the bags easily.
"Well, lets get going ne? i despise crowded places" Kane called behind him as he began walking through the emense cloud of people.
"Yeah..lets" Trailing after Kane, Lain breathed a huge sigh of relief. Even though he was tired, and felt like he hadn't taken a shower in seventy years. He was happy. Perhaps this place wouldn't be so bad after-all.

**********

It was Lain who broke the silence as the two were walking toward the parked crimson car in the aiports car-park. Rain had started falling lightly around the pair, coating the streets surrounding them with damp darkness.
"Im sorry..you may have to speak english alot. My Japanese really leaves much to be desired"
Kane laughed as he opened the trunk to the verichle, placing the boys luggage sercurely inside it.
"No worries Lai-chan, my mothers American, im used to it..she prefers to yell at people in English"
Chuckling quietly and shaking water-droplets from his ebony bangs, Kane moved toward the doors of the car, kicking one of the doors slightly before scowling at it and wrenching it open.
"This door..is pure evil, i swear! ano baka!"
Lain laughed quietly as he slid into the door held open for him. He was beginning to warm to the taller boys personality like a moth to flame. It was a welcoming thought to believe he was truely wanted here.

Throwing himself into the drivers seat Kane slammed the door shut behind him, turning on the motor and kicking the car into motion. Narrowing cobalt eyes at the radio, the Japanese boy pushed a button several times before the speakers at the back of the verichle vibrated quickly, almost causing the car to have a heatbeat of its own.
"Home then?"
"Sounds good to me.."

During the hour long journer to the Aizawa household Lain had fallen into a peacefull sleep, dreams undisturbed as his breathing remained regular.
"He must be exhausted, poor kid"
Taking a hand off the steering wheel and shrugging off the leather jacket encasing his form, Kane gently draped the material over the sleeping boy, thankful he had gotten here safely. The blonde seemed geniunely nice, even though quiet.
Kane smiled to himself as he swung his eyes to the road once more.
This was going to be an interesting moment in his life. He was sure of that...
