Do you like your teachers?

I'm asking this because it seems that this year I don't have a single teacher that I like. My math teacher makes the stupidest jokes (if that's what you want to call them) and laughs at them. For example the other day someone thought the answer to a question was some number, lets just say 4, and lets say the correct answer was 5. She was like "WELL I GUESS THE ANSWER CAN'T BE 4 SINCE IT'S 5 HAHAHAHAHA!!!...". I guess it might be because of all the "water" she drinks which I imagine is coffee. She doesn't allow food or drink except for water and her "water" is in a container you can't see inside of. Now as much as I don't like my math teacher my English teacher is about 5 times worse. He's very opinionated and can't be wrong about anything. A few months ago we were doing research projects and he said that when we get information we should stay away from sites that weren't .gov .edu and .org sites because "they all need to be verified before they become sites". I then corrected him and said that anyone could get a .org site just as easily as they could get a .com site. He told me that I was wrong and he only got angry when I insisted that I was correct.

There is one teacher that I love. I had two of his classes this year.. It was great.

I had him for AP US History and Theology III. He's very intelligent, and really a great teacher. He knows what he's talking about, and I just really enjoyed his classes.

I had one teacher this year that I absoloutly adored! He was my band teacher. He really made band a WHOLE lot more fun than it was at my old school. For those of us who made All-County Band, he bought us Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! He also let us play games in class. Like 'Grr Grr Gorilla'... Everyone got me on that one. They made me go outside while they planned a way to try to embarass me. It's a (SHORT) long story.

The only good teachers I had were in my one year of public school. I nominated my chemistry teacher, Mrs. Thomas, for Who's Who, and she started me on the road of science.

Also, my college English Composition professor was great, even though she was a flaming liberal feminist to the utmost extreme.

I had one teacher my senior year that didn't hate me, but he always had these crusty loogs (sp?) in his mouth, and I think he had ulterior motives because he kept asking me out.

I adore my English/Social Studies teacher. She never looks at the teachers' book when she teaches, and it makes it easier for us to comprehend and remember. Also, she's so friendly outside of class. Sometimes, Celia and I stay behind after the bell and talk about Lord of the Rings with her. Ms. Collier's so kewl. I love talking to her, since she's so funny!

Ms. Collier: Every time I see Aragorn, all I think about is, 'Comb your hair! Comb your hair!!'!

-----

But I loathe Ms. Cockburn. She doesn't know what she's teaching, and can't teach without her teachers' book. Ever. Also, she keeps humilating the students in front of the whole class. If one of the students doesn't understand what she's saying, and does something else, she tells them that they're an example of a bad student, and that's why she's not giving them a good grade, and etc. And that's a terrible thing to do, especially to a student. I mean, she's supposed to encourage us to learn, but she goes on about how lessons are 'too advanced for us' and how 'we wouldn't know'. But there is a reason why we're in honors. --;;;

Ms. Cockburn: (during algebra lesson) First you... nonono, you... you put this over th-... nono, first you put... argh, golly, this is so advanced...

And she was teaching us 2x = 0. (Two times blank equals zero). That's not even pre-algebra. - .-;;

Hehe, you said Cockburn. Hehe

I haven't really had a professor that I absolutely didn't like yet. Some have been a bit dry, but only the ones that deal with about two hundred people. What do you expect, you know? If I ever do get an instructor that I don't like, I won't sweat it. I'll only have to put up with them for one semester. Most of them are young and laid back, so I can't ask for much more.

I've had public school teachers that I couldn't stand, though. The first one that gave me a problem was my second grade teacher. Her name was Mrs. Robboy. She picked on me a lot. I remember when someone stole my book, she yelled at me and told me to keep my desk neater--without even chastising the person who stole it, even when they finally handed it back in front of her. lol

Because she picked on me, others in the class did, as well. She even encouraged it sometimes. One time I was absent and because I missed an assignment, she punished everyone else by stalling recess until I had completed it properly (without even knowing the material).

After a while, my mom would have to literally chase me around and force me into the car to get me to go to that class. I would hold on to whatever I could get my hands on to avoid going, like I would cling to trees and stuff. Eventually, I just stopped going, so I had to repeat the class. Repeating was probably the best thing for me, so I don't regret it. I made some valuable friends, and my new teacher was nice.

I did get Robboy back at a skating party by paying someone to trip her though.

The only other teacher I didn't like was named Mr. Eisenhardt. His voice cracked a lot, he wore a pocket protector, and he was very unfriendly. To be sure, he wasn't mean--he was just very serious and boring. But, he didn't give me any problems.

So, my odds are pretty good. I've only had two dreadful teachers. The good ones and the lessons they've taught me really outweigh the brief bad experiences.

Nope I hate my freaking teachers. My math teacher is the worst. I am not sure you can curse here but he is one bald bastard and one annoying mother****er.:flaming: :flaming: :mad: :devil: You wouldn't want to have him. I just fired my principal:) :p because I hated her also. I am trying my hardest to get my math teacher fired as well. My other teachers aren't great but the worst are the principal and math teacher. Anyone knows better than to mess with me. I fired a bus driver also because I disliked him. I am also getting fed up with some lady on the hall so I am about to try and fire her also. So no I hate just about all of them. I am also trying to get back the math teacher that the principal fired after 2nd quarter because she disliked him and his way of thinking. Now I got a new principal after I got the other one fired and things are looking bright.

At A-Tech we have really good teachers. The only problem is that the ones I have are really dumb. My first period teacher forgets to grade my assignments and then deletes them, and then I get in trouble when i call her on it. My second teacher is the typical english teacher that thinks that you can do anything you set your mind to and it is because you didn't work hard enough if you fail a test no mater how difficult it was. My third period teacher is pretty cool. Same with fourth, even though he is too demanding in what he expects. My fifth period teacher is cocky and strong headed hipporcrit. My sixth period teacher is cool, so with seventh, who is annoying, and 8th. So my teachers are all-around good.

hmmmm....there have been two teachers that I couldn't stand this year. there's Mrs. Carrick (the Carrot) and Mrs. Peevy (the Pear). the Carrot teaches textiles and fashions (aka 'the sewing class'), and the Pear teaches biology. I didn't like the Carrot because she was one of those old snooty teachers that has a stick up her butt all the time, and the Pear because despite how smart she tells everybody she is, she can't teach to save her life, and she kept losing my work. I was lucky to just pass that class (........at least, I think I did; need to get my report card soon ^_^').

funny thing is both of them liked me. heh, go figure.

If I don't like the teacher to a large degree... I simply drop the class. If I do it within the first few weeks, I don't have to pay for the class and it's really no loss for me. Sometimes you just have teachers who shouldn't be teaching or are hard to understand or whatever else.

For the most part, my teachers in college have rocked. My audio teacher, Bernie Mack (not the comedian) was excellent. He is a big part of a successful recording studio outside of Chicago, and so he obviously knows what he's talking about. The audio lab is pretty loaded here, and the guy just teaches well.

The other really good teacher that comes to mind is Chris Leather. He has worked at a few companies here in Chicago, such as Flux. They've done commercials for Gatorade, Sprite, National Geographic and so on. He mostly teaches our Design Symposium classes (portfolio) and is quite knowledgable and a very good person to talk to.

And lastly Mark, whose last name I forget. He teaches the video classes... Premiere, Media 100 and various taping, digitizing and whatever else (blue screening was fun). Good teacher and again, a nice guy.

Other than that, mostly pretty average heh.

There have only been two teachers that I have significantly enjoyed.

First there was my seventh and eighth grade science teacher, Mrs. Lampe. The most memorable thing about her was the fact that she owns camels. In the middle of the United States there are CAMELS that are not just in a zoo. She lives on a farm and owns camels. o__O Not to mention she was just a rather kooky teacher all around. She never minded jokes about being old (she was not too terribly old, but enough to where she jokes about it). My friend once brought her wrinkle cream for a present on her birthday or something, lol. She never minded when we did fruit rolls either, which is where everyone would bring a piece of fruit and in the middle of class someone would give the signal and we would roll the fruit up to the front of the classroom. It is actually supposed to be a prank and your are supposed to use rotten fruit, but we were nice because she was nice.

The next teacher is my journalism/newspaper teacher. He very funny, and perhaps enjoys Mountain Dew as much as I do, if not more. o_O There are several running jokes that he has installed within the journalism department, one of which is the infamous "that's what she said" punchline. He is a very professional teacher in a very outgoing and unconventional way. It is hard to really describe him. Usually I just call him "God". ^_^;;

There's really been two teachers I honestly liked the whole time I've been in school.

1) Mrs. Blake- My current Cisco teacher. I love her to death. Mostly because she treats us as if were equals. Most teachers are plain condesending to students, but she talks to us and treats us as if we're adults, and I love it. She's extremely lenient (unless we're too easygoing) and nice. She's like a mother to us "cisco kids" as we're called. lol

2) Mr. Berkshire- My LA 11 teacher. He actually gave me a challenge this year. More often than not, due to our horrible school system, I'm usually bored out of my skull during classes because they're so easy. But Berky (cute nickname, no?) actually gave us work that made us think. His was more of a lecture class than book, so that was one better thing, and his assignments were cool. One we had to do was make a mini-anthology based on Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters, which I really enjoyed. Plus, he's got a cool sense of humor. (I guess one would if you'd let a class full of Juniors call you "Berky" all year, lol.) I'm so sad he retired...

The only one I've ever bore bad feelings toward is my Life Planning teacher, Mrs. Reynolds. --; That class is totally pointless, and she barely knows how to teach it. I usually finish the work in about five minutes at most in there. Why I chose it as an elective, I'll never know. I'm so glad that's over...

Lol I usually don't really care about my teachers...they just teach me. There is two though that I think are really good teachers (Mr. Macdonald and Mrs. Richardson) and one teacher I absolutly hate (Mr. Sher). I guess you always have to have some good and some bad teachers!^^

Hmm you like weird teachers? Well my biology teacher is a midget and I make fun of her plenty with my friends. She's also quite weird for many reasons. I always picture her comming out of a cabinet or a small box and laughing or something...yeah but that's just me
