What anime or video game series do you think has the best music? My personal favorite video game music is from Chrono Trigger (best game ever!) and my favorite anime music would have to be from Bebop/Eva/Trigun.

Best,

I'd have to say the best game with best music would have to be Final Fantasy Vll. When you fight Sephiroth the music is amazing, it is breataking, and very good. As for anime, Trigun. It has very talented musicians, and directors. I love the music, it just gets my soul going.

best video game music would have to be FF VII and X both have the most enjoyable music to listen to while fighting a boss.
I would have to say cowboy bebop and Weiss Kreuz for anime music. :D
But knowing me by this time next week I'll think some other anime's music is the best. Ja!

For a game, it's tied between Final Fantasy VII and Chrono Cross, with a HUGE honorable mention to Final Fantasy IX's best songs, "Melodies of Life" and "You're Not Alone." The former is absolutely beautiful with the vocal, and the latter is the best instrumental in a game ever IMHO.

For anime, I'd say it's a tie between Trigun and Bebop, although I've only watched the first three episodes of Bebop. I love the ending theme to Trigun (though I can't remember the name) as well as Rem's song (again, name escapes me). "The Real Folk Blues" (Bebop's ending theme) is also rather high on my favorite anime music list. I also like the closing song in Slayers (I think it's titled "Don't you forget")

I love the opening themes for Slayers Next (my screenname here is named after that theme) and Try, but the in anime music is pretty standard stuff, though not bad. Miyazaki films have very good music. Some of that music reminds me of music in SNES games.

I have to say, the best anime music for me is in a list, since I can never pick out a favorite
1. Cowboy Bebop (Do I really need to comment?)
2. Hellsing (Man, this soundtrack rocks...I love it)
3. Trigun (Mmm....guitar....)
4. Evangelion (Not sure which I love more, the two Beast songs, or Komm, Susser Tod from EoE)

...Hmm, well with video games there's no contest. FF7 (especially "One-Winged Angel"), although I do also like "Eyes on Me" from 8, and "Otherworld" from X.

Anime, however, hmm...Well, Any song from Bebop f'ing rocks. The intro for Lupin the 3rd is also awesome. "Through the Night" from Outlaw Star is pretty good, uh "Just Communication", "White Reflection", "Last Impression" from Wing...GAA!! TOO MANY THOUGHTS ARE GOING THROUGH MY MIND!!!!! *slumps over from mental exhaustion*

I, like many have posted before, favor Final Fantasy VII for having the best video game music. In fact, the entire FF series has great music.

As for anime, its a tie between Cowboy Bebop and Rurouni Kenshin. I really like CB's music numbers, but RK has some of the best songs.

But thats just my opinion:D

I love the music from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. The opening song in OoT is great. Does anyone know if it has a name?

For anime, InuYasha and .hack//sign are my favorites. The J-Pop artists from IY, even though they are mostly girls, is something different from what I hear normally and it's quite refreshing. They are Do as Infinity, Aikawa Nanase, V6, BoA, dream, Hitomi, Ayumi Hamasaki, and Every Little Thing (all worth a dl). Also, I like the music from .hack//sign because it's so creepy; very strange, but I like it.

the two main series that come to mind for good music are Macross and Cowboy Bebop, although I also like stuff from Fushigi Yuugi, Trigun, and Kenshin. then there's the couple of songs here and there I've heard from various series (like the ending songs from Outlaw Star, plus Love Hina, Ranma, etc. blah blah blah). For videogames, I'd have to go with Final Fantasy VII because EVERY song on there, I loved it. I still remember all the tunes by heart. I also liked Chrono Cross, as well.

For anime, I'd have to go with Trigun. It's the only anime I have the soundtrack to because the music is so FREAKING AWESOME! ^_^

For games... I've not played that many, but I liked the Lylat Wars soundtrack enough to buy that, and Starfox Adventures had some nice tunes in it, too. A nice variety of different melodies and styles. Apart from that... Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II has good music, especially the Ruins and Boss themes, and the music that comes on whenever a mission had a sad ending.

For animes... I'd probably have to say that Evangelion is the best I've heard, but Zoids is my favourite. Eva has a massive variety of different styles (classical, electric guitars, songs, just percussion pieces)- its diversity is fantastic. There's so much emotion in those.

Having said that, the background music to the Pokemon series and movies is surprisingly good quality- it sounds very good.

Zoids is something I like, because it's lots of electric guitars and synthesisers- very active stuff there. I like that kind of thing. Transformers: The Movie has a similar sound, but it's a little more tinny and there's not so much variation in the themes. Still another one I like, though. It's hard to beat classics.

Video Game is definitely FF VII for reasons others stated.
For Anime, I have a few candidates.

1) Princess Mononoke - I love the theme song. Its hard to believe its sung by a guy(Japanese one).

2) Evangelion - "Heart, Return to the Beginning" is just incredible as it speaks to us all in this technological age. "Cruel Angel Thesis" is one of my all time favorites and I have like 10 different versions of it

3) Kenshin - I love Kenshin because the music matches the combat scenes flawlessly and perfectly :)

I like the Evangelion music as well. The battle scene music got me hooked. O_o;; Well, does anyone know the song that plays at the end of Evangelion: Death and Rebirth? (the very last song that they play after part one of the movie, not the recap.) You know, the one that sounds really sad, and then all of a sudden it gets all happy?

.Hack//Sign and Noir porbably have my favorite music to an anime, the soundtracks are beautiful, usually when japanese people sing in english, you can't really understand them the first time you listen to them.... I think See-Saw(the group that sang from, both .Hack and Noir) did a wonderful job on the english vocals.

As for my favorite video game music; I would have to say Final Fantasy VII, the only thing I can't stand about the music is that every thing sounds so... computer generated. Of course I love the remake of One Winged Angel that was on Kingdom Hearts. :D

^O^ Yeah, I really loved the Final Fantasy music! I usually managed to get my hands on some of the orchestrated versions; I really liked those. The computer generated sound kind of annoys me as well.

Final Fantasy VII for the game music because the music is just incredible. There are so many songs in the game that I just can't stop listening to. For anime, I like the Cowboy Bebop music because there are a lot of different types of music in Cowboy Bebop. It's a really top-notch soundtrack.

Do you mean Come Sweet Death? 0.0; Or maybe one of the classical ones?

I forgot about Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop... I love the song 'Call Me Call Me' and 'Come Sweet Death.'
