Well, does anyone know the song that plays at the end of Evangelion: Death and Rebirth? (the very last song that they play after part one of the movie, not the recap.) You know, the one that sounds really sad, and then all of a sudden it gets all happy?
That might be Thanatos: If I can't be yours, but I'm not sure

I wonder what this is for heh... Hmm. My favorite videogame music has always been from Earthbound. It's so quirky and entertaining, especially some of the later areas. I loved that game.

It's closely followed by nearly anything in the Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior games. Koichi Sugiyama is my favorite composer ever.

Anime... I have no preference.

My favorite video game music is from FFVII. It has dark sounding music as well as the best chocobo song I've heard in all the final fantasies. From anime, I like Cowboy Bebop and Trigun because the guitars are just so cool. oO;
I also enjoyed the music in .hack//SIGN. Some of them were sad and sympathetic while others were cheery. I absolutely love the ending and starting songs.

Thank You!!!! Another Outlaw Star fan, I thought we were a rare breed.

More songs... I can tell some of you are already annoyed.

Burn Up eXcess: Show Time(stuck in my head...), Future Dream (funky)

Gunsmith Cats: Intro and Closing (Don't know the titles, but I like the beat)

Hey, I'm an Outlaw Star fan! Yeah, the opening song is really well-done. The lyrics are nice too! However, I'm not going to pick an anime for best soundtrack just for one song... :p

Anyway, I guess this choice is just because I'm biased, as .hack//SIGN is currently my favorite anime. Yeah, you guessed it: I choose .hack for best music. And yeah, Yuki Kajiura did the music for both .hack and Noir (I haven't heard Noir's soundtrack, though).

Now, for video games... I don't know. I can't pick FF7 because it only has "One-Winged Angel" and "Still More Fighting." Those were the only ones I liked (or can remember, haha). Castevania: SotN had wonderful music (I still listen to "Lost Painting"), and then there's Virtual On (the first one). Last, there's anything SNK ever made :D ... Man, SNK's music rocks, IMO.

Anyway, in the hopes to shock you all... I choose Blaster Master! Yeah, that NES game. Just listen to the boss music, the music for the Ice stage (I think that's stage 6), and the last leader music, and you'll be hooked. All of the stage tunes were really nice. Haha, that frog stage was hilarious with the frog croak cutting into the music. BM has great music and beats, no joke.

Yeah, I'm late. So sue men. *ahem* Anyway, here is my pics. Note that when I pic these, I'm goin by 3 main things(which is the most important things when judgin about this)and thats opening theme, background music, and closing themes....

Best Anime Music: Hands down, its Yu-Gi-Oh!(Japanese version). The opening themes are lovely, I simply LOVE the background music, and I havent heard a bad closing theme to this series yet. Yu Yu Hakusho comes in a VERY close second though.

Best Video Game Music: Man, I dont care what yall say, but you'll more than likely agree that Mega Man 2(not X2. Mega Man 2 for REGULAR Nintendo)had the very best music in any video game today. Even for that little 8 bit system, the music in it would definetly have you noddin your head(even today). Air Man's theme, Bubble Man's theme, the Stage Select Theme...every piece of music on that game was awesome. And when they made techno remixes of all of the themes, I just had to get a copy of each for myself, and I fell in love with em all. So definetly, Mega Man 2 had the greatest music in ANY video game of all time. ^_^

Yes ^_^ I love the Yu-Gi-Oh music too. The opening and closing themes have a great sound- the voices, instuments, the arrangement. I'm not so keen on the background music, though, although that's just me. It's still good, but it just lacks something for me. I've only got and heard the first soundtrack, though.

I like the American Yu-Gi-Oh soundtrack too, but it's not as good as some of the other series mentioned here. Like NGE, heh. The US dub of the Digimon music is something I really like (particularly the biomerge and digivolution scenes). It's a pity they've not released it on CD >_<;. Don't know if anyone remembers the Mysterious Cities of Gold, but the soundtrack for that was done by the same people, and that's been a long-standing favourite with me too.

Man has to be Noir and Cowboy Bebop. Both have brillant songs that would pretty much catch anyones attention and the one with the clock for Noir is great with the techno in it (even though i hate most techno this one was great for it). Anyone though as for video games i would have to say is Zeno Saga.

Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X music has to be the best. My favorite is the Departure Song (song that played when Kenshin and Saitou fought for the first time in 10 years and when Kenshin was standing on the bridge and listening to people's response to the assination of the senator)

.hack//SIGN has great music. In my opinion, there is a great variety of music on the soundtracks and all of it is done wonderfully. Another soundtrack that is, IMO, quite well-done is Yu Yu Hakusho. I've enjoyed every single song I've heard and all the seiyuu/singers have done a great job, IMO.

One random song I like in particular is Aqua from Earth Girl Arjuna. It's comprised of beautiful chants and ethereal melodies that are really pleasant to listen to when you just want to sit back and relax.

The game that had the best music, i think, was all Final Fantasy games especially FF7 and FF9 had the best music. FF7 had the cool sephiroth music. and i loved all the characters themes, like tifa's theme and vincents theme and
aeris' theme, the way the music played when she died and the holy materia bounces down the steps, just the way it is all placed made it seem really sad... somehow
FF9 had Melodies of life which i love so much, the tune and lyrics are so... i dont know... i just really really like it. One of the main reasons why i like certain games is because of the soundtrack!! And i absolutley love The FF games

For me the best anime music was from Cowboy Bebop and Digimon Seasons 3 and 4. In Cowboy Bebop, the music really sets the theme and I found the music for Digimon Seasons 3 and 4 pretty cool.

As for video games, my vote goes to Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VII, and Star Ocean 2. I always felt pretty comfortable listening to Chrono Cross's music and enjoyed listening to it. In FF VII, the music was wonderful and I always loved listening to the boss battle music. I'm the first to say Star Ocean 2, but I find the music to the game really great and I most of the time listen to it when I'm doing my homework or drawing. I like a lot of other video game music, but these three have the majority of overall music. For video games, mainly RPG's, I find the boss battle and at least one dungeon music to be my favorite.

Ooooh, I almost forgot about Legend of Mana! Now the music in that game was very, very nice.

Although Super Mario Bros is by far the "catchiest" video game theme song, the music for "Full Throttle" (an old PC game) truly rocks. Its soundtrack is by the Gone Jakals, a band that fits the motorcycle genre of the RPG.

The best anime score is Cowboy Bebop...hands down. The music not used to complement the anime, it is part of the show itself. It is what makes the anime so exceptional in my mind.

My absoloute favorite music comes from a video game, well many video games, well all the same titles at the beggining. Castlevania, it has everything I love the style of music it has and I have a lot of music downloaded from it. I just cant get over the music really. That was one of the reasons why it got me hooked.

Whoa looks like I'm very late...but anyway...Ok for the Game Music:
I would have to say Grand Theft Auto III basically 'cause you
can pick what ever kind of music you'd like to listen to..and
for Anime: When it comes to theme songs I would have to say..
hum..the opening theme song for Argent-soma I don't know but
I just love that song. I also love Outlaw Star's theme music
it's very soft, but I would have to say the best out there is Escaflowne
the music is just I don't know deep...the anime and
the music just mesh well together great anime...ok that's all I
have to say.:toothy:
