Another great Yoko Kanno song is "Hemispheres," RahXephon's OP. Although the singer's breathy voice can grow slightly annoying after multiple listens, this doesn't take away from the fact that "Hemispheres" is really a lovely piece of work. Its soft vocals and energetic techno beats remind me of "Obsession" from .hack//SIGN, which also happens to be on my list of favorite theme songs.

Opening Themes:

Obsession; .hack//sign Already pointed out by Dagger- Obsession is a great theme song. It has a cool techno theme and I usually end up bobbing my head listening to it. Such a cool song, now it's in my head.
Najica Blitz Tactics Theme (I think it's called Bath and Body, or is that the ending theme? Better watch the show again to make sure)- I don't know the name of the song, but I do like the song. The song itself is good to hear for fun.

Ending Themes:

Dearest;InuYasha- When I first heard this song, I almost cried. It was soft and the words along with the melody made me feel so sad. Looking at the TV screen only made me feel sadder.
Heart of Sword; Rurouni Kenshin- I love the voice of the person who sings this (don't know who) and the song itself has a good beat.

Opening Themes:
Obbsession (.hack//sign) - Well, all .hack music is awesome, so, of course the opening song would be great. I remember when i first heard it i though it was in Japanese because of the singers voice. I like the beat to it as well.

Wild Flowers (Zoids CC) - I used to be a big zoids fan and eventually downloaded the Japanese opener. I loved it, It also has a good beat to it.

Okojo opener - Well, i'v never really seen this anime, but i think it's alot like hamtaro, only with ferrets and ermine. One of the opening is just horribly catchy.

Ending themes
Kaze wa Mirai ni Fuku (Trigun) - OOooo, I finally found the midi to this and it is playing in Myotaku. I mainly like the persussion beat that start in the beginning and end. It has that "Sweeep" sound from a broom. Great beat and the Nah, nah nah nah makes me chuckle.

Ruroni Kenshin ending: Don't know what it's called and I have never heard all of it, but I love the feel to it and words (What ever they may mean).

Ah, a thread I can actually relate with. ^_^

Anyway, I've always been one ot love just about all of the anime theme songs that I hear, but there are only a chosen few that I can say are the absolute best...

First of all, my current favorite anime opening is the current opening them to InuYasha which is "One Day, One Dream" by Tackey and Tsubasa. The whole song is yet to come out, but once you hear that song, I guarantee that you'll fall in love with it, and then way the opening sequence is, you'll love it, I guarantee it. Unfortunatly, unless you find a way to get the current episodes(like I have), you wont be able to see this for another year or 2.

Another song I still listen to constantly is "Shuffle" which is the second(well, third)opening theme to Yu-GI-Oh!. That to this day is one of the greatest anime pieces ot ever be put together. If you havent seen Yu-Gi-Oh! in Japanese, then you're missin some greatness personified. And the music is a great example of that. I havent found one bad theme from Yu-Gi-Oh! yet, but this one and "Warriors"(the current opening theme), is 2 of the greatest Japanese songs I've ever heard. You definetly need to get your hands on those 2 songs right there.

Those are my 2 favorites right there, but here are some of the other tracks I really love.

"Come" (current closing theme to InuYasha)
"Owarinai Yume(Endless Dream)" (3rd Opening theme to InuYasha)
"Fukai Mori" (2nd closing theme to InuYasha)
"Dearest" (3rd closing theme to InuYasha)
"Voice" (2nd Opening to Yu-Gi-Oh!)
"Wild Drive" (third opening to Yu-Gi-Oh!)
"Kiseki no Umi" (opening theme to Record Lodoss War)
"Invoke" (Opening theme to Gundam Seed)
"You Can Fight, TRANSFORMERS!" (opening them to the Japanese version of Transformers G-1)
"Love Forever" (Opening theme to Beast Wars Neo)
"Safari Eyes" (Opening theme to The Original Dirty Pair)
"Just On My Love" (Opening to Orphen)
"Cage" by Dir En Grey (Opening theme to nothin right now. Hopefully it will be soon though. ^_^)

Thats just a list of some of my favorites right now. There are plenty of others that I like, but I have to finish packin before I go on my trip tomorrow. So uuh, yeah. Love some anime themes. :D

My favorite anime theme songs are from Gundam Wing, Gundam MS 0080 Team, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, .hack//sign, and Outlaw Star. They all appeal to me in many ways. Gundam Wing for the Techno feel to the music. Gundam MS for the vocals, Kenshin and Outlaw Star for the catchy tunes, and .hack//sign and Naruto for the mystical feel that sounds it. I never get sick of listening to these songs.

~The Japanese Version of Catch You, Catch Me(The First Opening)
~Tooi Kono Machi De(The Opening of the First Movie.)

~Oh Starry Night(Sung by Rei)
~My only Love(From when the Moon Princess was revealed.)

~Rainy Day Man(When Makoto(Lita) had a flash back.)

And Random ones I liked were:

I don't have a real reason for liking them, except that the words and song melody gets to me.

My favourite video game music would have to be;
1. The theme from Final Fantasy X, I forget the name. Its really quite emotional, and matches well with the CG scenes where it's used. Can't understand a word of the lyrics, as its in Japanese, but oh well.
2. The theme from from MGS2: Sons Of Liberty. I sometimes watch the opening movie just to listen to it. Dooo-deee-dooo......dee-doo-dee-dooo-doooooo....
And then there's one from Zone Of The Enders: 2nd Runner. But since I can't actually remember what it goes like, I won't include it.

As for the best anime music, Evangelion.

Once again ladies and gentleman, .hack//SIGN for anime, because the tunes are catchy, a beautiful combination of the electric guitar, violin, and flute. Anyone who likes Noir's music would love .hack//SIGN's because Yuki Kajiura and See Saw provided the music for both series'. Key of the Twilight, The World, Kiss, Yasashii Yoake, In the Land of Twilight Under the Moon, Fake Wings, Foreigners, Interlude, Magic and Sword, and many more! :D

I see alot of Trigun and Bebop. I dunno why, I never really got obsessed with those series, but Bebop has good music. (And now that I remember I was obsessed with Bebop when I was like 12..o__o) I used to listen to the theme song when I was in the shower. Hee hee.

I personally LOVE Hana Yori Dango and Gensomaden Saiyuki music. I don't own the Hana Yori Dango soundtrack (YET! I plan to get it at Anime Expo 2004) and I have 3 Saiyuki soundtracks. I also LOVE InuYasha and Yu Yu Hakusho music too. Gravitation has good soundtracks too.

Fantasy Child, anything and everything related to anime music can be posted in this thread. I merged your topic with the pre-existing one because duplicate or overly specific threads are generally to be avoided. Additionally, please bear in mind that the vast majority of free mp3s are illegal, and therefore it's not really appropriate for you to request them here (refer to the Rules if you have any questions about our policies).

With that having been said, welcome to OtakuBoards. ^_^

There's a lot to be said for the sleep inducing powers of anime music. I'd have to say that the tune that puts me to sleep the best is the opening theme from Fruits Basket. (The name fails me at the moment.) There are also a couple from Cowboy Bebop that are very soft and light and airy, and make me want to curl up in ball on the rug and fall asleep in the sunshine.

Favorite music from an anime would probably have to be Cowboy Bebop, because they just did so much original stuff with that. A close second is FLCL, I just adore The Pillows.

Favorite music from a video game has to go Legend of Zelda: Ocaraina of Time, just because all the tunes were so catchy, and music has always played a big part in Zelda games. Again a close second is the music from Kingdom Hearts. Gotta love it.

For anime, I would have to say Inuyasha, Gundam Seed, Rurounin Kenshin and Cowboy Bebop have the best songs.

For video games, I would say Soul Calibur series and DMC 1 (The Nelo Angelo theme is the best theme ever!)

I agree with Shikaku, the ending theme for FLCL is a really cool song. I actually liked it so much I took the time to figure out how to play it on my guitar. Another good song is in FFX when you fight Jecht (Braska's Final Aeon). That's some really cool J-Rock, but the singing sounds like barking.....
