The best video game music has to be the Legend Of Zelda Theme. Then like very good anime songs come from the japanese dbz, dbgt and db.I like "Iam" from Inuyasha.But...if I had to choose an overall song from both worlds.(anime and video games).i would have to choose the zelda theme...especially the Orcarina of time opening theme when Link rides his horse around Hyrule...^_^

My favorite game music is definitely FF8's. I Love "Eyes On Me". I cried when I finally saw the ending movie. My favorite anime music is .hack//SIGN. I LOVE all the music to it. Its so deep and has a great, mellow tone. Personally, I think video game, anime, and j-pop music are all way better than American music.

But that's just me.:D

I'm not sure where I should put this. I'm hesitant about the Anime Lounge, and I'm hesitant about this section-thing.. please don't kill me if I'm wrong. heh.

Anyways, each and every anime (I think, at least) has a theme song. What I'd like to know is, which ones appeal to you?

My personal favorite is the Pokèmon: Advanced theme song. Excluding the first and second season, Pokèmon has had a good theme song, or so I think at least.

I also like the Teen Titans theme song. It's really cool, and flows well.

Note: This thread is going pretty well so far, and I'm going to make this the major anime music thread in this forum. Nothing sticky, just something cool and official-like. -Shy

I like all of Inuyasha themes. My favrite out of all of them is Dearest, though Fukai Morai is a close second. Inuyasha has so many powerful songs that bring about different emotions from sadness to joy. Most just make me tired and relaxed.

I also like the jazzy theme from Cowboy Bebop The Real Folks Blues.

My favorite anime theme song is probably "Rinbu Revolution" from Revolutionary Girl Utena. Because it sounds like the typical J-poppy opening, I was initially unimpressed, but as I continued watching the show, I gradually grew to love it.

"Rinbu Revolution" has a certain energy and richness of sound that I find really appealing, and it always gets me psyched about seeing the next episode of Utena. It doesn't hurt that the accompanying animation is extremely well done; it matches the music's beat almost perfectly.

There are few anime themes which appeal to me. Some are:

Kimi Wa Majutsushi (Are you a sorcerer?) from Orphen. This was a huge improvement over an already decent theme in the first season. A sets a really appropriate tone and has some well worked harmony (I play along on the piano to it).

The opening theme to Haibane-Renmei. This is high quality classical music (something I have an appreciation for), but what really moves me is the harmony at the end. I'm not sure if it annoys me that it fades out at the best part, or maybe I'm supposed to feel that way. Technically it's not a song, but I wanted to mention it.

Promises not Necessary from the Vision of Escaflowne. This has such an unusual melody and tone colour that invokes the strangest and yet the most intriguing of moods within me.

Kaze wa Mirai ni Fuku from Trigun. I love Trigun. I love how it's sung at the ending credits, in that wavering voice. (I can't find it anywhere, or I would listen to it all the time.) Or maybe Ride on Shooting Star from FLCL, which makes no sense, but it fits the show perfectly. . . because it makes just about as much sense.

To tell you the truth, no matter what show i watch, it has a good theme song. I think it gets you pumped up and ready for the show. My fovorite theme song....hum...that is a really tough one. I would have to go with either InuYasha or Cowboy Bebop. Both have really great soundtracks, and you really can't go wrong with either song. Both are up-beat, and well...they make me want to dance. :)

Well to be honest IMO nearly all theme songs are good , if it fits the show. Some of my favorites are...
-Real Folk Blues and Tank. (Cowboy Bebop) I'm a big fan of Blues music and with the tone of the story it goes extremely well with the series.
-Through The Night. (Outlaw Star) That ones just great. Period.
-Ride On Shooting Star (F.L.C.L) How can you not like that.
-Cool and Shine (Hellsing)
-Waiting and Voices (Macross Plus) Great , just great especially Voices.

Well I have come across many themes that I absolutely love... but since I can't write them all down I will just write down the ones that come into my mind right now...

1) The Real Folk Blues- an all time favorite. Its just so cool and laid back, but has a deeper meaning too.

2) Fukai Mori, My Will, and other Inuyasha themes- they are fast paced, but also seem to hold a bit of sadness and pain. (too bad I can't fully understand them yet that way I can know if Im right or wrong)

3 Hiru No Tsuki- Outlaw Star, very harmonious and ochestrated.. I love it.

4) Heart of Sword-Rurouni Kenshin, great upbeat song. Love the guitar.

5)Driver's High- GTO- anothr upbeat song that I cant get out of my head....

Well thats all I can think of for now..if more come to my attention I will be back...

I really really love the song "The Real Folk Blues" from Cowboy Bebop..I mean, who DOESN'T love that song? It's really pretty and I love watching the pretty pictures at the end of each episode. The art is lovely, to be honest. I love dark, shadowing images for some reason. ^_^

And..well..lemme think.. "My Will" from Inu-yasha sounds good..but..what was that one theme..

My favourite was "Beautiful Planet" from Windaria. It's a haunting theme just like the movie.

+Real Folk Blues (Cowboy Bebop)- I love this song. Absolutely love it. One of the first MP3's i've downloaded. This song is the reason why I've been searching for the Cowboy Bebop OST's

+Tank! (Cowboy Bebop)- Favorite opening theme. I use this song to see if a person is a cowboy bebop fan. Just hum the first few bars, and the person's eyebrows perk up if they're an cowboy bebop fan

+Opening song from Trigun- Awsome song that mixes 80's rock... with other.... stuff...

I can't think of anything else at the moment.........

Teammayhem, I've always thought that the Trigun theme song sounds rather Aerosmith-esque.... I suppose it's just something about its guitar riffs.

Although the Trigun OP isn't one of my favorites, I appreciate the fact that it's almost purely instrumental. The vast majority of anime opening and ending songs feature some form of vocal work. While singing is all and well, it isn't necessary, and I often grow tired of hearing the same voice each time I sit down to watch a particular show.

Hmm, too many good anime songs, so little time.

"Tank!" from Bebop - Great Song, Love the jazz

"Big O" from Big O - Cheap song yes, but its got some cool chords

"Ride on Shooting Star" from FLCL - Simply great, other songs from FLCL are cool too

Any opening theme from Inuyasha - Inu's got great themes, the 2nd and 3rd are really cool. Also check www.animehotspot.com for some of them in mp3 format. (It will be the full versions too)

Slayers Opening - It was pretty cool

AND THE BEST IS:
*DRUMROLL*

"Cruel Angel Thesis" from Neon Genesis Evangelion - This song kicks! Cool music, with an awesome opening video. Get it.... NOW!

Okay, anything by Yoko Kanno basically rocks - s/he did Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop, among others, and obviously both have beautiful music. Rock on, my friend.

I also love the opening from X/1999 - it's got the guitar riffs going, and the beat is just so much fun to jump around to. Let me tell you, I am an excellent air guitar player.

Hm...just one thing I must say. I don't see what's so great about Evangelion's opening theme Cruel Angel's Thesis. I don't like it, really. *waits for a few seconds* *is murdered by Evangelion fans*

Moving on!

I really love the ending theme song, Glaring Dream of Gravitation. The whole anime has really great music overall, but the ending theme is my favorite. It's very JPOP-ish, and the background music brings a bit of techo in with it. Overall a song I liked a lot. The ending theme to Inuyasa, Fukai Mori is another anime theme song I like. It's sung by a band called Do as Destiny, I think, and I like the guitar sound. *shrugs*

The opening theme song to Jing: King of Bandits is pretty cool, too. It's rock-style, and it uh...sounds good. *scratches head* I really can't elaborate on that. =_=

And as always, the music by Yoko Kano for Cowboy Bebop is very excellent. I think she's best with jazz, but the other genres of music she creates are all good. Goes to show what having a broad range of music can do for you. ^_~

2 things...

1- Yoko Kanno is female, and she rocks. Just buy any of the OST's of any of the shows she's done (Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, or Macross) and you'll see how good she is.
Here's a great fan site called the "Yoko Kanno Project" that includes samplers:
http://www.jameswong.com/ykproject/core.html

2- I agree with maladjusted with all the praise for "Cruel Angel Thesis". I don't like it. Too J-Pop-ish for me. Guess that means we'll die together, murdered by Evangelion fans
And I am a Evangelion fan, mercy, please!

wow InuGirl249, you look like you are obsessed with Inuyasha...
(Just a little sarcasm for all the slow people out there)

Not like there's nothing wrong with that, right?
