Fyxe
I want to know what you think. What anime is BEST BASED on the manga it was? I read ALOT of manga and when I see the anime i'm just like.... they missed some stuff that needed to be there.:nono: :nono:
Queen Asuka
I completely agree with you. The manga is so much different and in alot of aspects is more mature. Take Chobits for example. If you watch the TV series, it's watered down and a lot more innocent. Whereas, if you read the manga, Hideki is really into poor and there's alot more emphasize on mature situations. And it's more romantic. Volume 6 comes out tomorrow! I can't wait! A few other series that are like this are Sailor Moon and Love Hina. The only manga that I say CLOSELY relates its anime counterpart is Evangelion. And I think that's because they made the manga second and based it on the anime instead of vice versa.
DuoNDscythe
I'm not so sure, but loving G Wing, I think it would be a good manga/anime write off. I can't quite remember if Episode Zero was written for the series of vice versa like Evangelion. Well if I'm wrong somebody can correct me :), so Gundam Wing is my pic. Queen Asuka
Well, I just thought of one that does go with its anime well, and that is Fushigi Yugi. I don't think there are any variations in the storyline at all except that maybe Miaka wears different clothes now and then. It always baffled me how she would change clothes in the series when she didn't carry a pack at all. Where did the clothes come from?
Vertigo
*shakes head* The Eva manga is not like the anime as much as you would think. They took out five angels, and there are a lot of changes in the storyline and characters. For example,
Toji dies instead of just being severely hurt, Shinji goes berserk in ep 19 because he sees the destroyed Evas 00 and 02, not because he realizes what he wants to do, Kaji has angst about a brother of his that died, Asuka is more 'the perfect girl', and
Rei fought Sacheil before Shinji. I don't really like the Eva manga, but the first three or four volumes are good to read if you can't afford the entire series, and want to get to the part in the anime where the plot really begins. Japan
I agree. Like in the anime of Fushigi Yugi, the scar is over Chichiri's right eye, while in the manga it is over his left

Only Tokyopop sells manga that is in original form where you read right to left instead of left to right. I KNOW that the Eva manga is not like the series, but it's not so very far off, either. In my opinion, some ways it's better than the anime.
Semjaza
Ranma 1/2 is pretty much the same in both. I prefer the manga, but the anime pretty much follows the events exactly. Ghost in the Shell and Akira had so many changes... Appleseed was radically different... And that's all I can think of heh.
Hinata
Since I have been getting into my manga/ anime views more so Id have to say the best one that I've seen and read is GTO. They follow each other very closely and AAAAAWWWWWWW mst I say it Onizuka is just toooooo fine  Oops soory I let out all my information like that. But as it goes with the Chobits series and Love hina that I am also reading the animes seems to different and a lil more water down I guess and Love Hina goes into different story lines that are never touched in the book!!! Darkness Ruler
I've seen the Japanese One Piece, and I'd have to say that's the closest to the manga in Shonen Jump. Then again, DBZ is pretty close too. My friend's seen all the eppys, then read the manga...I do it the opposite since I'd rather be reading manga than watching the anime. ^^
WW2
The Dragon Ball series has to be one of the best Manga to Anime transitions. The creaters of the series kept the same angles and drawing styles that were found in the manga. But like many transitions in anime, many filler episodes were added, and some of the names were changed.
Boogiepop
id have to say Real bout high school is the best translation the events are almost exact in my mind. the worst is sailor moon the manga is almost not alike the tv series at all.
WW2
Originally posted by Boogiepop id have to say Real bout high school is the best translation the events are almost exact in my mind.
What? You think Real Bout High School is the best transition? The Anime storyline and the Manga storyline are almost completely different. The manga follows the story of Ryoko fighting different matial arts opponents in K fights, and had some very cool characters like G, Taiho, and the female Shinsengumi. The anime did start out pretty much the same, but
it suddenly changed to Ryoko fighting dragons and giant crabs in some alternate demension!
Whats up with that? Wheres all the K fighting and the female Shinsengumi? While the anime was pretty good, it didn't share many of the manga's great aspects. But thats just my opinion :D
Queen Asuka
I just do not like that Real Bout High School series. It seems like the plot barely makes sense and that the only reason it was written was for the fans. It's got LOTS of fan-service. And the Sailor Moon manga is WAY better than the TV series.
Naru
I think Love Hina is pretty good, sometimes theres stuff in the books that are not in the shows. Tenchi is about the same. I love both of them so much though!
Zen
I'd have to say deffinetly TRIGUN! Also Naruto and Shaman King.
Kwai
I think the Evangelion manga follows the storyline pretty closely, with the exception that it omits the angels. But all the other things that are done differently and the little extra background information we get on the characters are definitely a plus to the general atmosphere. And yes, the manga came after the series. That said, I prefer the Trigun manga to the series. I think the series omitted alot of the personal stories and background of the GHG members and made them pretty hateful. The manga has a good deal of background information on them, and you get to look into why they turned out the way they did. You get to see their point of view, and I think its pretty important to understand every character's past and perspective.
Hiei Jagashi
Dragon ball Z hands down i think.they didnt leave any thing out.Know bad guys no words nothing the only thing they left out was all the cuss words(but thats only in the edited version..shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......) Waterflash
Hmmmm... I dont have as many mangas as i do animes, but from what ive seen, the InuYasha manga has a few different things. ESPICIALLY that one special thing with Miroku and Sango (I dont know if I would be spoiling anything so if you dont know what I'm talking about PM me and I'll tell you. If anyone else has an opinion on this please tell me. I'm interested.
Pan
The only ones I can think of is Sailor moon ive got the whole set but i think the anime needed to follow it a lil more theres more romance in the manga between Darien/Maramu(think thats right) and Usagi/Serena and more death and I think cardcaptors followed the manga well to.^_~
Chichiri's Girl
Saint Tail the anime is pretty close to the manga except they screw around the whole order of the events and that Memei transforms differntly. But hey most of the time in anime they swich the order if they're collecting something like in CCS. Oh Kudos to you Queen Asuka for gettin knowin that Viz flips thier manga!
