XeEmO
Well i'm just about to go to bed so I thought I might as well ask. Personally I like to read, and then lay on my side with my eyes closed until I fall asleep. I might turn on the tv and listen to it a bit while i'm in bed. If i'm having a hard time sleeping then i'll just try not to move and think about a place that i've been.
Manic Webb
I sleep preferably in a bed (although a couch or the floor will do nicely) switching randomly and erractically between laying on my back, stomach, and sides. I usually have my TV on, and I leave it on all night. I can't sleep without the pitter-patter of Nick-at-Nite or Cartoon Network on my television screen. Seriously. When I was little, my mom would sneak into my room in the middle of the night and turn the TV off, and I'd get up a while later and turn it back on. And when I fall alseep with another TV network on, I wake up in the middle of the night and change the channel. The only exception to the TV rule is if I'm sleeping somewhere other than my own bedroom. Another favorite of mine is falling asleep on my computer's keyboard while typing a paper for school. Of course, that's usually followed by waking up with back pains and a lot of coffee so I can stay awake in class.
Domon
I do the same thing Manic, I can't sleep without some kind of noise in the background, usually the T.V. Or I'll just turn the t.v. off and just sleep. I fall asleep too easily. So I hardly have problems falling asleep except in cars.
PiroMunkie
Sleep... *snickers* Right. That is such a rare commodity with me. Usually, I end up boring myself to sleep. I am usually up to about five or six in the morning. I actually come out of my room when my mom leaves for work. Either that, or I have accidentally fallen asleep only to wake up a few hours later. So if I sleep, it is unintentional due to lack of interest.

TheShinje
Usually I will listen to a worship CD before I fall asleep, it sets me In a good mood so I don't have nightmares. I used to fall asleep with the T.V on, it was quite interesting because before you wake up, the show that's on invades your dreams, and then you wake up and it's a show on T.V ususally the early morning preachers, so I always think I'm having a "christian apparition" until i wake up. Fall
I cannot sleep without music. I like to have Metallica, Evanescence, Staind, Trust Company, Nirvana, or any good band like that playing. That means I have to burn a CD in the exact order I want. Usually I'll turn the CD Player up to its loudest -that's when I fall to sleep the quickest. Then mum comes and turns it down. Then I turn it back up. Simple.

(<AA>)
Oooook... a topic about sleep? I'll go with it... Well sleeping is becoming harder and harder nowadays... heh, if SLEEPING gets harder what else will? (Excuse the ramble...) Anyway I usually go to bed at 10:00 o'clock and wake up at 11 or 12, and watch "That 70's show". Then go back to sleep at 1 in the morning. And wake up at 15 min to 6... Ughhh. I feel so exauhsted latley. Plus, I have exams. Ohhhhh.
Guest Musahi
During school I had this whole ritual down. Everynight at 9:30 I would take a hot shower or bath. Around 10:00 I go downstairs get a glass of chocolate milk and take a benedrill. I watch through Futurama while sipping my chocolate milk. Then I would usually fall asleep during Family Guy or whatever is after it. I think it used to be Trigun. Now, I don't sleep much. It's 8:12 AM and I've yet to fall asleep. Cora Jane 2
Sleep... Well I guess I have been getting more of it since I have gotten out of school. Usually I just sleep for the fact being that I am thoroughly exhausted from doing many things during the day. Umm.... when I was in school, I would sleep an hour here or there, after being up the majority of the night, and go to school. After school I would come home and go to work, then I would stay up for a bit, sleep for and hour or two and do it all again. I guess it just depends on if I'm actually in the mood to sleep, because I tend to find other things to do instead of sleeping. I have a stack of guitar magazines by my bed, my book (On A Pale Horse), a notebook and pencil, and food. So I can always find something to do, even if I should be sleeping. Lately I have been writing poetry, and reading my book.
James
I also have little sleeping habits. For instance, I can't stand total and utter silence. You know, the kind where you can hear the blood vessels moving around in your brain. lol So, I have a small fan in my room that I put on every single night. Even if it's freezing cold, I put it on and sometimes turn it away from me. I need the noise. But having said that, I don't really like music or any kind of loud noise when I'm sleeping. The fan's good because it's a constant hum and it's not too loud. So, that's usually how I fall asleep. ~_^ But if I'm ever having my hair stroked (when I'm lucky enough), I fall asleep right away. If someone did that to me now, I guarantee that my head would hit the keyboard in an instant. It's weird. o_O

I have to listen to music too, although I generally have something a little more relaxing and quiet. I like the music loud, but not that loud unless I have it on headphones, and you can't sleep in the leviathan ones I have :bluesweat. I usually put on Evangelion, Zoids or anything else from my soundtrack collection. Silence makes me think too much, and when I'm tired I tend to think of rather disturbing things that keep me awake. Although I don't tend to hear blood vessels moving around my brain o_o; Usually I like to have the blanket in a certain position, too- underneath my back and shoulders and then wrapped around my front like a cocoon. I like being snug, heh. Before I can do anything to get to bed, though, I have to check OB and talk to my friends, even if it's for five minutes (which it isn't. 'Five minutes' usually equals two hours). I get very annoyed if I miss anything or feel I've not said something that needs to be said.

Nothing like good affection to warm the heart, it must be healthy somehow. Well lately I've been suffering of a heavy paranoia, well belief in spirits if I'm alone in my room lately. As the plumbing in my house is really quite frankly weird, there are all sorts of strange noises that make me jump here and there. My only method to get to sleep is just to lay there really, I have to find something more constructive to do. However, on my father's boat, that's a whole different story. This brings me back to the ''Rock-a-bye baby'' era as the waves gently rock you off to sleep. But having said that, even if my father's boat was churning at high speeds against the waves, the gentle movement makes me rest and go into a heavy sleep, it's strange. But yes, lately, sleep has been tough.
juna
Interesting thread. How do I fall asleep? I have to have some kind of noise - as people above have mentioned. Most of the time it is the TV, set to a volume where you cant quite make out what the people are saying (or else I catch myself straining to pay attention to the TV and not to falling asleep.) I set the sleep timer so I don?t get woken up in the morning...sometimes I find noise to be louder in the morning then in the evening - weird, I know. I also like the sound that my fish tank gives off as the water is filtered - kind of like a fountain. Very relaxing. I like to stay up as long as I can, drawing or getting myself super tired and then just crawl into my bed (God I love that thing) drifting away to sweet delight. I have a slight obsession with pillows, all shapes and sizes, and whilst rolling around all crazy during the night, I always manage to incorporate a large many of them. *Getting sleepy thinking about bed* Gentle hair strokes (Yes, I love them too James) and comfy beds, ahhhhhhh, to be home. Jinzouningen17
The best way for me to fall asleep is to either watch the news or an episode of Friends............ Nah, seriously though, whenever I get home from work, all I ever feel like doin is fall asleep. So its not really difficult for me to go to sleep. I just lay down in my bed and close my eyes and I'm out for atleast 8 hours or more(unless I have to help open the store the next mornin, then I'm lucky to get even 5 hours. :( )

I like James, need a constant noise in the background, all the time, not just when I'm sleeping. I mentally cannot handle udder silence. Thus I ALWAYS have the radio on, of a fan, or a CD, of just the sounds of my constant typing. lol. I on the other hand ALWAYS have music on. (Though I don't right now, CD player on the computer is broken.) I guess I don't really think about blood vessels and what not, but I think alot. I tend to avoid silence, mainly because I am avoiding certain things.... *looks around* ... so yeah, but sleep. I always have noise in the background, be it music or just a fan. **Just to throw this out there. I enjoy rubbing guys heads who have the buzz cut, don't ask, I just like it. Then most of the guys that I do that to, they say they are about to pass out. Lol. One of my good friends has a buzz cut, and EVERY time I see him I rub his head. On another note, guys with "eye level" hair is always a plus, I love running my hands through it when the hair is clean. *smiles* Anywho. Tis about it from me. Tis the end of this note.**
(<AA>)
You know, I love sleep and all, but it's so horrible waking up :(. Bad breath, I usually feel more tired that I was when I went to sleep, but later it gets better and I feel refreshed. But going to sleep in the afternoon is such a pain. I have to try emptying my mind, and it's harder in the afternoon, 'cuz there's so much light, I can't sleep with lights on, I love the dark. Heh, that's kinda obvious huh? Sleeping with the lights off... I must have taken stupid pills...
Erika
I can't take naps. I dunno how ppl can sleep in the middle of the day. :cross: I have a red light on in my room when I go to bed. I don't like lights (but I like sunlight in the house) so I hardly have a lamp on. I love dim lights and mild silence. I usually go to bed at 10:30 pm and read for 20 or half hour and then crash for about 7 hours(now I'm reading the Death Gate books...very good series!) And yeah, I like having something on, and now that it's summer, I always gotta have a fan on in my room. When I get a strange urge to sleep in the living room, I do that and have the TV on, but turned down (I never actually watch it, so I usually turn it to the TV Guide channel :P). When it's not hot in my room, I have my stereo on classical music radio station, but turned up enough to where I can hear it, but low enough so my sister won't gripe about it. In school, I don't really fall asleep. I drift about halfway there, then eavesdrop on my surroundings. I hate when ppl think I'm sleeping and they start talking about it. As if they've never seen anyone facedown on the table before! Sheesh...:cross:
Shaun
I don't really sleep that much at night. 4 or 5 hours is usually all I get. But then when I have a day off, I'll sleep the entire time. I'm weird like that. But yeah, I have my sleep habits. I absolutly have to have music. Even if I'm in a hotel or something I've got headphones on. When I'm at home, I like to have my fan on and lightly blowing over my body. I get hot very easy, so that helps. If I'm taking a nap in the afternoon, I have a different set of sleep habits. I don't take ordinary naps....catnaps don't do me any good at all. If I take a nap, it's usually for 4 or 5 hours! Y'all will think I'm crazy, but you know how I love trains, right? Well, what I do is, I pop in a video of trains, and turn on my model which sounds like rain. The noise of the video and the model will put me out within 20 minutes garunteed. The funny thing is, trains are loud. They're loud on the video. But somehow, I'm out when those are on. One more thing that's sure to put me out is a steady rain. My room is in the loft of our house, and the rain on the roof is sooo relaxing. So basically I sleep as I need it, with no set sleep pattern at all, and different habits for different times of the day. Mama always said I was complicated... Fyxe
I don't do alot of sleeping... but when I do I need complete darkness, sometime I like to listen to a C.D. or the radio. Guest Crimson Spider
The first thing my cat does is go up to my face and then snif it while purring as loud as possible. I just change positions often with my eyes closed trying to think of other things. I usually sleep for about 13 hours, give or take.
amibasuki
I can sleep anytime, anywhere, any circumstance. not necessarily a good thing, but at least I can sleep whenever I get the chance. I get about 5 hours of sleep a night, and then come home from school/wherever and sleep for another 3 or 4, sometimes more, depending on how tired I am. I probably sleep more on the couch than in my own bed, considering sometimes I assume I'm just gonna take a short nap during the late afternoon, and end up waking up at 3 in the morning 0_o'. used to sleep in school, but I can't do that anymore *mutters about the Pear, in her warm classroom with the soft lights and her quiet voice and.....her big yardstick >.<'*. and I LOVE IT when people brush my hair ^^! after about five minutes of it, I start dozing off. sometimes it doesn't even take that long ^_^.
stardust
I need to hear noise, and i need SOME light cuz I can't stand the dark!hehe, I usually sleep downstairs on the chair or floor (why?well,in the summer my room's too hot,in the winter it's too cold, yes, I sleep up there sumtimes during school, but it's a rare occurance. And if i do, it's usually to get away from my sister or cuz I want to play my gamecube at 2 am,lol). That's about it. Or if i can't sleep, I'll lie down with my cd play and put Solsbury Hill on repeat till I fall asleep, but that;s just me...
