But having said that, I don't really like music or any kind of loud noise when I'm sleeping. The fan's good because it's a constant hum and it's not too loud. So, that's usually how I fall asleep. ~_^

o_O' That's exactly the way I am. :huh:

I have to sleep on my back. I simply won't fall asleep otherwise.

I need lights and such turned off. I'll fall asleep with them on, but it's a lot harder to. I also cannot stand ticking noises. I can hear a watch a room over if I'm laying there. I usually have to put them in a drawer or something... it's the main reason why I mostly have digitals.

I have a bed, up in a loft... but I use it for storage. I just sleep on the carpeted floor with a blanket and a pillow.

My room is freezing. There's like, no heat in my room whatsoever. >>;

So, I have four layers of blankets, and I usually need at least two in order to fall asleep. If it's too light above me, it feels really uncomfortable, and I end up moving around alot. Also, I really, really need a pillow between my legs. For some reason, it's more comfortable that way, especially if I'm using two pillows for my head.

Silence just freaks me out. xx; I really need some sort of background sound in order to fall asleep. Usually, I listen to my CD player (Usually Evanescence or Tori Amos), or keep my TV on. My dad is a really light sleeper, so he usually comes in and turns off the CD player or TV, and goes back to sleep. And I really don't have an alarm clock in my room, so my dad usually just calls my name, and I wake up. ^^;

well... to get to sleep... a sledge hammer to the head works well for me.. Or.... let me thing.. what did i do last night...

Oh yeah... slammed my head in the door a couple times.

No just kidding.. but that would explain my lack of brains... to bad i cant blame it on that.

I get to sleep... with not music.. but nature sounts... a heavy rain with a thunder. A heavy thunderstorm.... the ocean..something like that... no music.. no un natural noises... just nature... most of the tiem its the thunderstorm that i listen too.

I have a tower fan in my room.. really nice, remot controled, and rotates. I set it at night on the Sleeping Wind Mode.. and listen to the thunderstorm booming out of my stareo.... thats how i go to sleep

Actually, falling asleep was never a problem for me... Actually, waking up was always more of a problem than falling asleep :P
Oh well, I can fall asleep anywhere, anywhen, anyhow, and in any conditions... lol... All I need is to close my eyes for some minutes... Poof! Already asleep... lol
But how I usually do is just put on some music and just jump on my bed facing down... lol

Yeah, me too. Unless I have a fever or something, I find it impossible to sleep during the day. But when I'm sick I sleep all the time.
I have to have music on, and I usually can't sleep on my stomach. I need two pillows, and I can't sleep with a light on. Heh, I'm quite demanding when it comes to sleeping. At least I'm not like my sister, who is a horrible person to share a bed with. She moves around so much, and you end up right on the edge of the bed. So I try to avoid sharing a bed with her whenever possible.
It's actually the waking up part that gets me. How do people do it? :p

I have a fan in my room too. If the power ever goes out, I'm up about a minute later and I can not get back to sleep until it's back on. It can get really annoying. ~_~

When I was little, I always listened to something on my boombox to help lull me to sleep. Music still helps to put me to sleep. When my family and I are in the car, if I'm really sleepy and have nothing to do, my eyes are closed in an instant. Usually, though, I get woken up by a traffic jam or a speed bump or something. ^_^

So, uh... yeah. *wanders off*

Hmmm...*twitches*

Im kinda, nocturnal ^__^ I have no problem falling asleep in the day. Wether it be in class or just random falling asleep at home *smirks* However when it comes to around 9pm im *wide* awake and i don't usually end up getting to sleep until 3/4am O_o!! When i don't have school..this is a good thing. When i have to get up at 6am the next morning, im practically dead..i just swallow coffee and trudge out of the door and im pretty much comatose for the rest of the day *giggles*

But onto my *weird* sleeping habbits. Once upon a time i *had* to have silence to sleep, and even though i toss and turn alot now..if i don't have music in the background i stay wide awake, the silence unnerves me @_@!! so i usually put on "Sarah Mclachlan" or "Soundscapes" on my cable tv ^__^ I usually fall asleep within 15 minutes then.

I also can't sleep unless i have a heavy pillow draped over my ears..or head O_o Im not sure..*what* started this. I think it was because my sister would wake up really early and i put it over my head to block out the noise of her moving about, but now im used to the pressure so i can't sleep without it! one day im gonna end up suffocating myself i swear lol.

I also can't sleep without two stuffed toys *blushes* one of them is "Yuki-lion" and the other is "Quatre" two of my dearest friends gave them to me..so i can never sleep well if they're somewhere that isnt on my bed.

I also move about alot, i never keep one position for more than 5 minutes O_o Sometimes i wake up and my body is in the weirdest angles lol I also have an AC in my room now..i hate sleeping when its hot. I can't sleep with the light on either..

see..im just weird O_o *cackles and scampers*

But if I'm ever having my hair stroked (when I'm lucky enough), I fall asleep right away. If someone did that to me now, I guarantee that my head would hit the keyboard in an instant. It's weird. o_O
These two describe me perfectly. I think I'm part cat in that I absolutely LOOOVE for my hair to be stroked/brushed/played with, and the same goes for back rubs and massages; heck any soothing touch done for even a short period of time shuts me down. I feel fuzzy and tingly. ^_^

I have a bad back, so I always sleep on my back. If I start to sleep on my side, it's like my lower back starts to feel pinched and uncomfortable. I messed up my back from marching the snare drum in marching band, so now I have to be careful.

I also have a STRONG preference for sleeping in my own bed. Anyone else's bed just doesn't feel as good, even if it's a better matress and all of that.

I end up falling asleep with my radio on. I cannot sleep without it on. It is just weird. I used to have this problem where I coudn't sleep for days because I was freaked out that someone would break into our house, because in my room I hear all of the creaks and noises and I was scared to death. My parents couldn't get me to go to sleep for days. I was just too freaked out. I don't know why I was like this because it was like 2 years ago when this happened. I had never had this problem then all of a sudden it just came up and I didn't know what to do. They were going to send me to a counselor until they tried turning on my radio. The first days it didn't work, but soon enough it helped and now I can sleep all of the time. I can't sleep during the day. My dad would always try to get me to sleep during the day as a child, but I would never go to sleep. I can sleep during class though, and that's a common thing for me, especially in History.

Oh and I have to have my windows open, my fan on high. I have to be covered up and with my heating blanket on...

Don't ask..........

My sleeping habit has pissed off friends and boyfriends in the past. I have to have a fan on at all times. I've been like that since I can remember. It's the noise. If I don't have it, I can hear the silence whining in my ears. And I can hear my heart pounding in my head. Every little noise would wake me up, even my own breathing. When the power goes off, I wake up right away because the fan noise is gone -- it's pure hell. I have to put on headphones and turn it to a static station. It gets annoying if I'm spending the night somewhere with no fan. I mean, what kind of people don't have fans?

So I can relate to some of you on that one.

Other stuff:

Any other noise, like another person breathing loudly or music or cars going by will keep me up all night. My dog's collar wakes me up if he's walking around the house because it jingles.

It takes me a long time to go to sleep, so I usually don't even go to bed until I'm at the point of exhaustion.

Getting comfortable easily is practically impossible. I thrash around a lot. And I can't stand for anyone to be touching me -- at all. I am not a cuddly sleeper (well, I'm not too affectionate to begin with, but anyway). It just gets too hot and I can't move around the way I want. It hurts people's feelings, but oh well.

It's getting harder, too, because of my expanding uterus, lol. The baby also wakes me up when he's flipping and flopping around.

I know that this topic is old, but I forgot to post when I realized I had something to say ^_^;

Contrary to Lady M's non-cuddly sleeping habits, I absolutely love touching someone while I fall asleep. I fall back into the annoyingly nasty niche of not falling asleep for hours on any night that I'm actually away from Erik. Plus, his bed has kind of become my bed since it is bigger than my small one, so it's weird to sleep anywhere else without him. It's just comfortable to know that there is a big strong man next to me to protect me from the dark and scary boggie men! :D

My sleeping habits are not that strange. I have to sleep on my stomach. I don't know why, I just can't get to sleep otherwise.
Also, I sleep with no pillow. My whole family thinks I am crazy. Sometimes I end up using my pillow as a stuff animal instead...
I am supposed to be in bed by 10. And, sometimes I am. I don't go to sleep until anywhere from 1-4am. I also never take naps.
I can't sleep with the T.V. on or if someone is touching me. Like...my cat is lying on my back, her body warmth keeps me awake.
I need noise though. A fan, radio, computer buzzing, etc. help me sleep.
When I find I can't sleep I roll off the bed, get on the comp for a bit, then see if I can sleep again. If that doesn't work after a while, I try sleeping on the floor. That usually helps...o_O.
When I have a bad dream, I never go back to sleep, so I stay up til 7am when I am supposed to wake up.

Sleeping at night annoys me because it is the only time of the day when I am at peace. So, naturally, I do not want to sleep. So I stay up late on purpose.

I usually read, watch TV, go on the net, until I get tired. Then, I try to sleep.

Most often, and recently, I have begun to listen to music on my headphones. That gets me to sleep..otherwise, sometimes I have trouble sleeping. I usually stay up late as well.

I can sleep without noise, too. It's not too hard for me..but music is easier. All in all, I just don't sleep very soundly. And I never remember my dreams. Only small, tiny, nothings of them.

No way can i sleep unless im dead tired or sick, and it has to be dark, really dark, I have black curtains just too keep out my streetlight because its too bright. I have a thing about bright light in general but its not quite as bothersome in the day. Dark glasses and what not make it easier.

Im also one of those people who like a soft sound playing in the background so i usually have a sterio on quite soft, but it still annoys my parents.

Also as so many other people have said, nothin tops your own bed, its always the most comfortable, well almost always, i can only think of one thing that could make someone elses bed better though.

I absolutely cannot go to sleep without a DVD playing. For the last few months it's been Trigun actually. I just put it on title repeat so when I wake up, it's still playing. Oh yeah! It also always has to start on part two of episode two (Truth of Mistake). Otherwise, I can't make it. I know, I'm weird. C-ya on the other side! *flys off on one of her winged monkey soldiers*

Hmm. . I differ from day to day.

Sometimes, I can only sleep when there is something on the TV (movie, or just some tv show)

Sometimes, I have to be listening to music (usually relaxing types - enya, coldplay, bjork - ya ya, shutup)

Other times, it has to be quiet. .

Most of the time, I usually just can't get to sleep till my body just shuts off. I usually kill time posting on boards, or surfing the net. I have never fallen asleep at the keyboard, and always manage to slink to the bed (or floor).

Umm, sleeping habits -- I, like many, have to have a fan on. I can't stand going to sleep in heat. We usually have the AC on, keeping a constant temperature of 65 - 70 in our appartment. In addition to that, I keep the room fan on, and usually have a smaller fan pointed at me.

I also have to sleep under some kind of covers. It doesn't matter if it is just a sheet or a comforter, but I have to be covered. I also need lots of pillows. I really can't get comfortable unless my head is propped up. *shrug*

I am a very deep sleeper too. I mean, I have slept through some seriously heavy storms, only to get up to get something to drink, and pass back out when I get back to bed. On that same note, sometimes I will wake up after like two hours of real sleep, and be so wired and ready to go. If someone comes into my room and tries to wake me up, I usually get right up (even though I am really not a morning person)

Umm, I guess that's me. . As for 'cuddling' . . I can't do it. I also like to thrash around, and toss and turn quite a bit. Having someone hugging on me really cramps my style? . . I know, many of you are like - Umm, Aaron, you always say you don't have girlfriends, and never get any. .Well, I am the nice guy that certain women like to 'cuddle' up to me when their men aren't around *sigh* I am such a sap. Sleep, sleep, sleep..... hmmm... I haven't had a full eight hours of sleep in about 5 days (that means I haven't slept much in five days combined, for you people who didn't know). I usually stay up until 9:30 pm to watch X-Men Evolution and then stay until adult swim starts and then ends with Lupin/Cowboy Bebop. Then I just usually want to do something else besides sleep, so I grab an old VHS tape, that has about 4 hours of people doing magic tricks, and pop that into the VCR and let it play.

I usually watch that and mess with my cards (Bicycle playing cards) and try not to lay down. If I lay down, you won't see me until 3 pm the next day. Then at about 5:30 am when my dad goes to work, I get on the computer. Then later in the day, while watching TV I'll usually like passout and be there for like 30 mins. But on the nights when I do want to sleep, I get in bed and watch a little TV. Then when I try to sleep I either turn the TV down to where you know someones talking but you can't make out exactly what it is, or I turn my radio on and listen to Rammstein, ICP, Twiztid, Nirvana and other things of that sort.

No matter what, I need some constant noise in my room. I can't go to sleep without it. If I'm real tired I can stay asleep when someone turns the noise off, but I usually wake up and turn it back on. I absolutely cannot sleep without a low noise going on. If I don't have anything to distract me, I'll lay there and here little noises throughout my house (and my house is somewhat old so it has many, many creeks in the floor, doors, pipes, etc.) Whatever I do, though, if I think about going to sleep, I will not be able to. Like if I'm laying there thinking about wanting to go to sleep, because of something that is going to happen the next day, I will not go to sleep until I get really, really tired, or I get distracted by something else.

Boy, I typed alot, huh? :)

Sleep is the topic huh? Well if it makes any sense, I think myself to sleep. I like my thoughts to be the only thing I can hear. Unfortunately, my little brother's snores interrupt my thoughts, but that's alright with me. It usually takes me half an hour to go to sleep. Unless I'm hopped up on sugar in which it takes me an hour or so to fall asleep. oO; I think of random things before going to bed...
...like socks. ^^

I don't sleep very often, as many people might know. O_o;

Mostly it involves me drudging into bed when there's nothing else to do. Sometimes when I come back from going out at about 2am I just sit around watching TV.. or listening to music. At about 4.30am I normally get really bored and go to bed to 'pass the time', I suppose.

My dad gets up at 5am in the morning, and he hates me not sleeping.. so normally I go to bed before just to keep him from having a go at me.

When I do actually want to get to sleep, there's nothing like some mellow music to get me off to the land of nod. I stopped counting sheep due to an overpopulation problem. :)

Guest dayday
Falling asleep, let me see. Usually I'll sit there and watch whatever's on t.v. and fall asleep watching that, or I'll turn down the so it's quiet but I can still hear it. THen I'll turn on my sterio and listen to the same soft music all night. When I wake up the songs still playing. All you have ot do is put it on repeat. It's a good way to learn the words too.
