My first anime....Dragonball Z...well, yeah. My friends in school watched it. When I started to, they knew loads about it! Then, now I know Dragonball Z inside out, they didn't watch it any more!!!

Pokemon was kinda the first, but I didn't like it. It was the game, so that ain't an anime.

Sailor Moon was also my very first anime. I didn't even know it WAS Japanese animated, but I know I woke up at six o'clock every weekday morning for a large portion of my grade-school years just to watch it. When Toonami aired on Cartoon Network with new episodes of Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, and finally, Gundam Wing (which became my utter and complete obsession), that is when I truly discovered anime.

Why? I haven't the slightest idea. I know I've always loved animated shows (I've seen almost every Disney movie and television series to date) but what it was about Sailor Moon that made me love it eludes me to this day. The humor? The creative and fantastic storyline that is missing in most Western cartoons? (At least, back then, it was.) Eh, who knows? But it did open a door for me, and I walked through and have never looked back since.

I am with RPGchick on this one.. My dad watched Speed Racer when he was a kid, and when CN syndicated it I ended up watching it as well.. But back then I was so young that I didn't know Japan existed. -_- *Expects wads of trash to be thrown at him* All I knew was China. Oh and there was this other creepy anime that CN used to have on when I was little.. It was all these weirdo horror stories that gave me nightmares... Does anybody remember that?..

Athough I didnt know it at the time..My first anime was Voltron, followed by DBZ and Ronin warriors...but they were years apart. I used to watch Voltron when I was about 6 and it was like 88' so I didnt know it was anime it was just a normal cartoon to me!! But as I got older I really got into others and soon just fell in love with them!!!!

The first anime I saw was Speed Racer. I was about 3 or 4, and I didn't know what anime was until about 2nd grade. I always loved cartoons, then Nman told me about anime, and I got into Transformers, and DBZ. And I've been an anime lover since.

The first anime I saw was Devilman at a friend's house. I liked it just because it was so weird. If you've seen Devilman you know what I'm talking about.

After that, I got more seriously into good anime such as Bebop, and movies like Akira and GITS.

First anime I seen had to be DBZ when it came on Fox at 5:00 in the morning . I got into the whole story with Vegeta attacking earth and seeing the main hero Goku die. I thought it was cool and I thought that Vegeta would really win. Now I watch Slayers on the IC channel.

The first time I saw anime??? It was when Kingdom Hearts came out. I was reading a game magazine and I saw something about Kingdom Hearts and thought it looked pretty cool. Then my sis just popped up behind me and kept saying come watch this with me. I said no. She said yes. It went on like that until I gave up and decided to watch it with her. It turns out the show was InuYasha and I've been an obsessed person ever since.

The very first anime episode I saw was Session 26 of Cowboy Bebop. My bro had gotten an import DVD and I didn't watch the other episodes. I thought it was awesome, but I was kinda confused. The next day, I was flipping through channels and came upon the third episode of the first season of Sailor Moon.

It's kinda sad how good my memory is, ne?

I think just about EVERYONE saw Sailor Moon first, myself included. But I was at my friend´s house, and she had some uncut, subbed SM, and that was my first exposure. I really liked it, but when I saw some on Cartoon Network, I could hardly believe it was the same series! In fact, were it not for Tenchi Muyo, I don´t think I´d be where I am today (broke, with bags full of anime and manga, typing away to people I´ve never met!). Actually, back then I was obsessed with Sailor Moon for a short time, and I went on a rampage buying everything from picture books to dolls to... whatever I could find.

Simply put, Sailor Moon grabbed my attention, Tenchi Muyo got me interested, and Outlaw Star hooked me for good (I think).

No not THAT one, I mean what was the very first anime you ever saw, and why did that convince you to think "Hey, this is kinda cool."
I swear I was going to answer with, "Well, it all started when I was handcuffed..."

Anyway, the first time I ever watched anime wasn't exactly the time I got into it. For example, the first anime I ever watched was Voltron, when I was no more than three years old. Obviously, I didn't know what the hell anime was at the time, so it wasn't as if I had wanted to search more of it. Then I watched other anime like Heidi, Candy Candy and other ridiculous shows, but those never had a long-lasting appeal on me.

However, it all changed when I watched Caballeros del Zodiaco (Knights of the Zodiac/Saint Seiya). I fell in love with the show, and followed it along with my friends every afternoon. Even so, at the time I just thought it was an amazing cartoon. I still didn't know what anime was. Saint Seiya ended, and I went back to watching American cartoons.

Things in Stupid Land wouldn't be calm for long. When Dragon Ball Z came to Venezuela it became an enormous hit. I was SO into it that I had to get more of it. During my findings I learned about anime and its cult following in all of America. I started watching Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X in Latin America), and began looking for new anime shows to get into. I found Locomotion, any anime fan's heaven network, and started watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. From then on, I've been continually interested in anime.

Then I moved back to USA, and realized Americans had it horrible for them as far as TV anime went. I realized I was lucky to be raised away from it, so I was able to appreciate the excellent Mexican dubbing and uncut shows and movies.
