XeEmO
Did anyone here buy this album? For those of you who don't know HTTT is Radiohead's new album. It was leaked onto the internet a while ago and a lot of my friends downloaded it...I didn't download it I swear ;) ....but yeah I was wondering if you have it how you like it. I was going to get it later today when I go out with some friends.
Semjaza
There were two versions leaked... The real version, and a rough unmastered version. I personally grabbed the unmastered one that was floating around, because obviously... you'll not get to hear it otherwise. I'm honestly not a big Radiohead fan. I've not given them a fair chance, I'll admit... but it just feels so whiny. I'll try this out and see. The unmastered version is quite good. XeEmO
Yeah I got the unmastered and the real leaked versions. I ended up getting the cd and it sounds so much better than the mp3s did. When it comes to radiohead I really like there use of weird sounds. I think that some of their stuff is very original and much better than most of the stuff on the radio these days (I don't believe i've heard them on the radio much if at all). Oh and don't get me started on how much I hate the radio. It seems to me like there are absolutley no good stations around where I live.
CalmLikeABomb
Yeah I bought it the day it came out. It's incredible. I wasn't a huge fan of Amnesiac or Kid A, but the first three were incredible. I'm glad Radiohead returned to thier gutair rock roots, so to speak. I heard they're not going to release any albums after this though. I suppose Thom Yorke doesn't really enjoy making them all that much.
Jesus Chicken
I'm not sure about not Thom not liking them as I have read numerous interviews with him lately, stating that he rather enjoyed recording this CD, and he didn't mention anything about this being their last record either. I really hope it isn't. Hail to the Theif is great. I didn't like it too much when I first listened to it, but now, I really enjoy it. My only wish is that it was a bit rockier. The first track, 2+2=5, is my favourite track on the album. It's such a prefect blend of electronica and rock. Good stuff. On the whole the album is a slight step back from Amnesiac, and a bit closer to Ok Computer. I would have to say the sound of this album is a mix of those two albums. It's not as guitary as Ok Computer, but it has more guitar stuff then Amnesiac. Very good.
Semjaza
That's all really been blown out of proportion. Thom has basically said to the press that the band is tired of the difficulty surrounding making full length albums that are actually cohesive. They would rather just keep releasing EPs. So basically EPs instead of LPs. No full length albums, but they'll still put out new music. They'll probably wind up changing their minds anyway. Avatarofkaine
Yea, thats more what I had been hearing, that they were finding the length of production for a full LP a bit much and were leaning heavily towards EP releases from now on. Although they never really seem to be bounded by decisions they make, and I wouldnt be at all surprised if they went and did a two CD album, just to keep us fans on the backfoot, they're quite good at that. Semjaza
There was plans to do that with their last releases... I remember reading that they chose against it, partly because of the problems it would cause... mostly sales wise. They cited NIN's The Fragile as an example for why they decided not to. The Fragile sold rather well though, so who knows.
Genkai
I got the one of MTV.com but I bought the album anyway, It was good, not as good as it was hyped to be. I think Radiohead is running out of new ways to be sad and depresses, but the instrumentals are normally goood.
