Yes, there is a thread about this, but it died after two posts, so maybe this one will be more successful.

I have the first episode on DVD that came out of Newtype magazine, but I haven't got a chance to watch it yet. So what's so great about this series?

I think it is just a very solid anime series (although I ony have the first two DVD installments, the rest of series could fall apart). I would probably consider the artwork very traditional as far as style. The colors, however, are amazing. They do tons of light pastel colors on dark backgrounds.

The music is very good...not exceptional like Cowboy Bebop or Escaflowne...but it is interesting and fits the mood of the story well.

The plot line is incredible. It is just a neat concept, very suspenseful, it reminds me of Cowboy Bebop in the way you get a little bit of the main charecters background in every episode.

I don't really watch anime's that contain girls with guns but this series has truly changed my view. After watching this series I would state that this is one of the best anime out there. I like this series not because of the music (which is by the way astonishing as it was done by Yuki Kajiura, the one and only who did the music for .hack//sign) but because Noir has a certain twist and excitement to its story as well as it's characters that can overwhelm even the simplest of minds.

I have the first two DVDs and I like it so far. The characters are very interesting and are much deeper as the series progresses. I really like the music. It sets the perfect mysterious atmosphere. It's hard to describe, but I couldn't think of anything more appropriate. It would've been easy to fill it up with generic rock, but I like the turn they took.

The character designs are pretty simple and aren't that detailed, but they still look great. Less is more as some say. I love the archetecture and the landscape of the places they visit. The change of atmosphere is great. One episode they are in Paris, the next they are in Italy, the next they are in New York and so on.

As for the story, it's interesting so far. I love it how strong these two women are, but they must still rely on each other to get the job done and learn about there pasts.

The action is also great, with some fast and stylish gun fights. The fights really show Mireille and Kirika's talent. It's also interesting to see the unique ways Kirika kills people. Beware of the fork.

I have run into a few problems with it. The pacing seems to be off in many episodes. There are these long minutes of just very little significant dialogue. Sometimes it can get really boring, as if the story wasn't long enough to fill 25 minutes. Also, the DVDs are a bit lacking on the extras. Production sketches are fine and all, but I want more!

So far, I'm enjoying it. The first two discs are strong, so I hope it keeps getting better.

i know no one has posted in this for a while but i am hoping that someone may stumble upon this and answer my question. when you are on the dvd menu page there is a techno type song and i was wondering if anyoen knew what it was.
to remain on topic here as well, noir is a really good anime. its not happy and quirky in any way, most of the time it leaves you with an odd feeling, not bad, just odd. most likely from the realistic sense it is portrayed in. there are no spaceships or eva's like in the other realistic animes i like (cowboy bebop/neon genesis). its a bad guy after the not good guys sort of thing, and sometimes leaves you wondering if they shoudl have killed that guy. its just realistic and good.

I've seen the first episode, and I have to say I'm not impressed. All it consisted of was a bunch of psycho-bable that I've seen in many other anime series. (Who am I? Why am I alive? Wah Wah Wah:bawl:)

Personally I didn't like any of the characters, I thought they were too depressed and unrealistic.

The only part that I found interesting was the stylish gun fight scene, but it was too short.

I know I might have to see the rest of the episodes in order to get into it, but frankly I don't want to waste my money.

But thats just my opinion:D

Ive seen like the first 6 subbed visions and bought the first 3 english DVD's and i think this is a great anime series. It goes along with the same allegories and plot as the Cowboy Bebop series and the Akira movie (gets into extremely deep meanings and leaves questions unanswered for the viewers to try to figure out), as well as some fantastic fighting scenes. I also like how well this series has done so far with the in depth of each character
except for the intoccable or however u spell it i wish i knew what she was doing the whole time when she was banished to Sicily
and it seems that with the remaining DVD's i havent seen yet it will just get better...i hear. So everyone tell me what you thought of this series if you have seen it and if not tell me if you may want to see it in a why/why not response.

One more thing i was also curious why CN hasnt showin this anime series yet. I think its more related then Trigun towards Cowboy Bepop and i think they dont have to do that much censoring at all so i just wonder why they havent showen it yet. Either that or maybe someone knows if they will be showing it but just give me a PM if anyone knows this answer thanks.

Tori like the first two DVD's are great, like once i bought the first one i just knew i wanted to buy the whole series, but out of the DVD's so far the 3rd one is the best. I dont want to give away anything at all so i dont think this is a spoiler at all, but the 3rd DVD introduces a new character which just thickens the plot even more and leaves you with even more unanswered questions. Anyway though i like this series a lot so far i would watch it ull probably like it.
