XeEmO
Does anyone here support local bands? It would be interesting to listen to some music from some of them. The one that sticks out the most in my mind would have to be a band called Ransom. There my friend's cousin's band and there pretty good I guess. You can download a couple of songs here:http://www.ransommusic.com. I went to one of their concerts and i'd say there stuff is metalish. Kinetic
I don't really know any bands except my Spanish teacher's band, but I missed the Battle of the Bands so I didn't get to hear them. Ransom sounds good. I think with a little more work in some areas, they could be big.

Flash
I'm in a band. Say hello to the lead singer of Fallen Faith, Christchurch's premier Punk-Rock-Metal band. Yeah, we have no idea what the hell we're doing. lol.
Dmitri_Dragoon
I know of a couple of local bands around here. My Band director is a drummer in a band called Miles of Gray, or M.O.G. They are okay, I don't care much for the singing but the music itself is pretty good.
OlgaTheDwarf
There are many local bands I know of but one band that my friend used to be in sticks out the most. They are called Numberonegun. I doubt any of you have heard of them, but the did get signed and last I heard they're CD is being carried in Best Buy. Another band that I really enjoyed that was kind of local was Ember. Their town was about an hour and a half away, but they did come to my town a lot before they broke up. The cool thing is that their bassist wanted to countinue the band along with a few other members. So they formed the Beautiful Mistake and are now signed to The Milita Group. Their CD can be found at Hot Topic and just about any other store that features a good selection of underground bands. The rest of the local band in my area suck. XeEmO
I almost forgot, a former local band over here was 6 Gig. They made it pretty big and probably some of you have heard of them. Another band was Rustic Overtones. They were on the soundtrack for "The Animal". Rustic Overtones were actually from the town I live in and they used to practice behind my house before they made it big.
PiroMunkie
My friend knows this guy who is in this band called Staircase. I have never heard them, but they have been around a bit. They have opened for bands like Godsmack and such. Kind of odd considering most of the band is in their upper teens/lower twenties except for the lead singer who is fourteen.
Manic Webb
I support a local blues band called Tattoo Blue. My dad plays the bass guitar, so I kinda have to support them. Actually, the name of the band is Kathleen Cairns & Tattoo Blue. As far as blues bands go, they're really good. The lead singer, Kathleen, does a great cover of a Janis Joplin song (can't think of the name right now). Another local band I liked was called Nexus (or something like that). They were a rock band started by a few people from my high school graduating class. I only saw them playing during the Senior Talent Show and the Senior Class Skit (a short 30-minute play the senior class wrote and performed). I don't know what happened to them after graduation, but I'm willing to bet they either broke up, or somebody just plain left the band.
Semjaza
Zwan was more or less local before the CD hit as well, as I don't think they played anything other than the Metro here in Chicago at the time. Apocalypse Hoboken was a local band until they broke up. Local H is still more or less local, despite doing rather well in the past. Same with The Vindicators I think. Veroscene was a pretty good rap/metal band that friends of mine from high school headed up. I wound up getting their CD out of state, and I've heard nothing of them since. Local for me is Chicago. I'm sure there are tons of others, but I've not looked into it.
