Chapter 12: Duel of the Rosemon

?Thorn Whip!? BlackRosemon wrapped a thorny vine around Valkyrimon and sent her plummeting to the ground.

?That?s not fair!? cried Mimi. ?Go get her, Rosemon!?

?Time for some real flower power! Rose Spear!? The spear cut Valkyrimon free from the thorny prison.

?Dark Spores!?

Everyone gasped. Even Ken sat up drowsily.

?What did he say?? Yolei panicked.

?Now I remember!? Ken groaned, still weak. Davis helped him struggle to his feet. Rosemon and Valkyrimon dodged BlackRosemon?s attack. Ken looked up at BlackRosemon.

?It was YOU!? he screamed angrily. ?You?re the reason I had the Dark Spore! We were fighting YOU!?

?We?? asked Davis. ?What do you mean we, Ken??

?When I first traveled to the digital world, I met a boy named Ryo there. That?s a whole other story. What?s important now is that no one else is infected with the Dark Spores!?

?That must be his plan,? Izzy concluded, ?To make humans his slaves!?

?I thought you were supposed to be a genius!? Daemon laughed. ?It took you this long to figure that out? Ha!?

?Get ?em guys!? Tai shouted.
WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon soared into action.

?Ice Wolf Spikes!? A shield of ice formed in front of Daemon.

?Terra Force!? WarGreymon?s attack shattered the shield of ice,
turning it into a shrapnel bomb.

?AGH!? Daemon groaned.

?Starlight Explosion!? Phoenixmon?s attack started out as a small point of light, like a star. It moved toward Daemon and exploded like a Super Nova. Daemon grimaced.

?Atomic Ray!? HiAndromon?s attack was right on target.

?He needs cooling off! Water Tail Blaster!? Preciomon?s beam of water nearly drowned Daemon, who emerged steaming.

?Giga Scissor Claw!? HerculesKabuterimon?s attack knocked Daemon out of the sky.

?My turn!? Rosemon turned from an entangled BlackRosemon.

?Thorn Whip!? She tied Daemon to the ground.

?Arctic Blizzard!? Vikemon sent yet another dome of ice over the
enemy.

?We?re winning!? Davis cheered.

?Now Valkyrimon!? Kari and Yolei called.

?Feral Sword!? Valkyrimon?s falcon took to the sky and electrified the gleaming sword. Valkyrimon shut her wings and dove in for the attack. The sword shattered the ice dome. Daemon was nowhere to be seen. Everyone cheered.

?We did it!? Davis exclaimed.

?Now for you! Rose Spear!? Rosemon shouted.

?Noooo!? BlackRosemon burst into bits of data.

?Take that you dried up old bloom!? Mimi shouted.

?Great job guys!? Tai congratulated.

?Not so fast!? Cody shouted. ?Look!? A dark blue-black fog rose from the shattered ice. It gathered around BlackRosemon?s data bits and reformed into Daemon.

?Oh no!? Macayla cried.

?Don?t worry, I?ll take care of this!? HiAndromon said.

?No, don?t!? Matt cried, but it was too late.

?Flaming Inferno!? A huge ball of fire hit HiAndromon. He instantly devolved back into Kapurimon and fell from the sky. TK caught him.

?Gotcha!?

?Kapurimon, oh no!? Macayla sobbed.

?He?ll be okay. He just needs to rest,? TK soothed.
One by one, the other mega digimon tried their attacks against Daemon, only to be blasted back into their rookie forms. Only Valkyrimon and Vikemon remained.

?It?s time we joined this party, Davis!? Ken exclaimed.

?I thought I?d never hear you say that!? Davis smiled.

?Meeee too!? ExVeemon agreed.

?Wormmon!? Ken shouted.

?Right! Wormmon digivolve to?Stingmon!?

?ExVeemon!?

?Stingmon!?

?DNA Digivolve to?Paildramon!?

?Paildramon Mega Digivolve to?Imperialdramon!?

?Imperialdramon mode change to?Fighter Mode!?

?Now guys!? Davis shouted.

Kari, Yolei, TK, Cody, Ken, and Davis, stood in front of their respective mega digimon.

?Fools. Do you really think three mega level digimon can stop a superior level being like me? Ha!? Daemon snapped.

?We?ll see who?ll be laughing now!? Ken growled.

?Now guys!? Davis ordered.

?Arctic Blizzard!?

?Feral sword!?

?Positron Laser!?

The attacks combined, and a huge explosion hit Daemon. When the smoke cleared, he only laughed.

?He must have used the rest of the digi sphere!? Izzy warned.
Tai looked at Matt.

?How much of your sphere do you have left??

?About half.?

?Me too. You thinking what I?m thinking??

?Yep.?

?Alright then! Let?s do it!? Tai shouted.

?Agumon Warp Digivolve to?WarGreymon!?

?Gabumon Warp Digivolve to?MetalGarurumon!?

?DNA Digivolve to?Omnimon!?

?Alright!? Tai exclaimed.

?It actually worked!? Matt shouted.

?Supreme Cannon!? The blast knocked Daemon off his feet.

?Lightning Arrow!? Valkyrimon fired a rapid succession of arrows at
him and pinned Daemon to the building behind him.

?Omega Sword!? Omnimon thrust the huge saber deep into Daemon. There was a long pause.

?You?ve not beaten me yet!? Daemon finally gasped. ?Flaming Inferno!?
Omnimon fell into Imperialdramon and Vikemon and Valkyrimon devolved back into their rookies and Gatomon.

?Wait that?s it!? Ken said as Kari picked up Gatomon.

?What?? Yolei asked.

?Gatomon?s tail ring!?

Chapter 13: The Final Battle.

?Yolei, take the others to safety. Kari, you and Gatomon stay,? Ken ordered.

?But Ken??

?Don?t argue with him, Yolei,? Mimi interrupted, ?He as a plan!?

?Okay?Let?s go then!? Yolei finally agreed.

?Wait!? Izzy yelled. ?Give Ken your Digi Spheres!? Everyone except Tai and Matt gave Ken the rest of their spheres.

?Watch out!? Sora called. Daemon lifted his hands toward the storm clouds above.

?Dark Spores!? The clouds turned an evil blue-black color.

?He?s gonna make it rain Dark Spores!? Joe exclaimed.

?Get them to safety, Yolei!? Ken marked.

?I?m all over it!?

?Okay Gatomon, give me your tail ring.? Ken said. Gatomon slipped it off her tail and handed it to Ken. He placed it on the ground in front of him.

?Kari, use your D3 to activate the ring.? Kari held up her digivice and the ring began to glow. Ken placed the remnants of the Digi Spheres in a circle around the ring. Almost instantly, the ring shot out a white light.

?Tai, you and Matt hold up your digivices! Davis, you too!? Ken held his up as well. The light shot into each digivice.

?Fools. You can?t stop me with a light show! HA!? Daemon laughed evilly.

?Gatomon, here?s your tail ring back. Now you and Kari get to
safety!?

?So what did that do?? Davis asked Ken.

?Watch and see!? Ken smiled. ?You guys know what to do!?

?Right!? Said Imperialdramon and Omnimon.

?Here goes nothin?! Imperialdramon!?

?Omnimon!?

?Quadra-Digivolve to?Imperialdramon Paladin Mode!?

?Paladin Mode?? Tai and Davis exclaimed.

?Awesome!? Matt added.

?Now we have a superior level digimon too!? Ken grinned.

?You think the addition of white armor is going to help him? You
really are fools!? Daemon cackled.

?Is anyone else getting sick of being called fools?? Davis sighed.

?White armor may not help, but this will!? Imperialdramon drew a
huge sword that resembled Omnimon?s armor. A fierce wind blew around
the entire area. Imperialdramon?s shining white wings whipped in the
wind as he drew back the huge sword.

?Omega Sword!? Imperialdramon struck with a great impact at Daemon.

?AHHAAAAAAHHH,? Daemon cried out as he began to dissolve. But then he suddenly began to laugh.

?You may have beaten me, but you can?t stop that!? Daemon pointed to the sky and then disintegrated. Imperialdramon devolved back into Veemon, Wormmon, Agumon, and Gabumon.

?Oh no! The Dark Spore Shower!? Ken gasped.

?How do we stop it?? Matt shouted.

?We know how!? Angemon and Angewomon flew by.

?Okay!? TK said.

?You know what to do!? Kari added. They held up their D3?s.

?Angemon Warp digivolve to?Seraphimon!?

?Angewomon digivolve to?Magnadramon!?

?Seven Heavens!?

?Fire Tornado!?

The two attacks obliterated the storm clouds swollen with Dark Spores. Only the night sky was left.

?That did it!? Davis cheered.

Epilogue

?My theory was right!? Izzy shouted.

?What theory was that?? Ken asked.

?That only Angel-type digimon could destroy the Dark Spores!?

?I?d say it was a good guess,? Gatomon purred.

?Me too,? Patamon added as he drifted down into TK?s arms.

?A GUESS?!? Izzy gasped. ?I put a lot of thought into that
hypothesis!?

?Whatever,? Gatomon said as she drifted to sleep in Kari?s arms. Izzy fumed for a moment. Then he calmed.

TK held a hand out to Kari.

?A pleasure working with you, as always.?
Kari smiled, and hugged TK. He blushed. Davis smiled, and hugged an exhausted DemiVeemon close to him.

?You did great buddy.? DemiVeemon smiled and shut his eyes. He went right to sleep. Kari kissed Davis on the cheek. He smiled softly.

?You know, you were great back there,? Macayla said to TK.

?Who, me??

?Silly. Of course you!? Macayla giggled. She kissed him on the cheek. TK blushed so red that Matt offered to get some ice. Everyone
laughed.

Later the next day, Davis and Kari got to have their one-year anniversary dinner. Davis bought her a charm bracelet with a Gatomon charm on it. Kari loved it.

Joe and Mimi returned to New York along with Gomamon and Palmon. Macayla went too, but vowed to come back. TK said that it wouldn?t be necessary, because he planned on going to college in New York to be a writer.

Tai and Sora finally got to spend some time together.
Matt?s band actually made a TV appearance. Izzy and Yolei swear it was because of their editing job.

Ken has taken an interest in detective stories and Yolei says she can?t detect any trace of life in him when he?s stuck in one of those books.

Cody starts Kendo again soon. Everyone wishes him the best.
And as far as the digimon?they are still as fun loving as ever!
