They're an older band (mid to late 90's), but does anyone like Rage Against the Machine? I personally like how they combined rap and punk and metal with leftist thought. In my opinion, if you consider yourself even remotley cool, you should listen to them.

Ahhh RATM, just the amount of well,, rage zack brought to the music, it rarely mattered if you could understand him or not, he got the point across. Yes the Rage engine has died down a little in Audioslave, but you have to appreciate that they are now making a very different kind of music. Hell you take a look at soundgardens music (Chris Cornells old band) and you realise how different the music Cornell is singing is compared to what he used to be belting out.

Rage was as much a message and train of thought as a band, and with that I truley repected them. Zack had opinions, and he made them heard because he could, he used his influencial position not to influence but to inform, to make both sides of the stories known.

There are alot of bands who could learn more than a thing or two from Rage, if not in the music then deffinatly in the driving forces and opinions that should form the backbone of any truley great band.

I agree.

Well I have "The Battle of Los Angeles" as well as "Evil Empire" laying around somewhere. I have a question though, were RATM the first rap/metal band? I'd like to think they started the whole genre.

Where would I be able to get this remix? Do you have it uploaded to a website by any chance? I assume you don't because of copyright laws. Or do they only apply to sharing the actual song?

Rage is a really good band in my opinion, but I feel that they didn't make a really good record until Battle of Los Angeles. Unfortunately, they had to break up after they released Renegades which was another strong album (even if it was pretty much all covers).

I personally like Ausioslave better, mainly because of their music. Though I liked Zach as the lead singer of RATM over Cornell of Audioslave. Zach added the "last light" to the band.

Audioslave has a more stronger sound to them though, because they don't have Zach. Though don't get me wrong, RATM rocked.
