So, without further adue, here's my question... What would you fight for? I mean, what is the one thing that you would fight to protect, even if it goes against your morals? Mine is friends, family, and that guy standing on the corner. (i.e. if someone's being bothered, beaten up, or if they just need help, I'll help 'em) And by fight, I DON'T mean just physically. I mean something you'll strain to do for some random cause. Well, whaddya think? (and please, don't tell me I'm an idiot. Ill always stand up to her since i think shes the nicest person in the world. I would also do it for the rest of my family as well. Not all the time but most of the time i would do it for my friends and my fraternity as well. It just depends if its over a stupid reason...or they started something for no reason then i probably wont help just try to break it up. I think fighting for a useless cause or just to get back at someone if they said something you didnt like is pretty lame. To [U]start[/U] a fight it would have to be a drastic situation such as someone making fun of a lost family member/friend or about a certain medical handicap/disease. Then again, I don't realy know unless it comes down to it, I have a horrible feeling that I would stand back. Of course if it really came down to it i would...it's kind of a gut feeling. I'm a semi-pacifist myself, I don't like to fight but it happens sometimes...human nature. I hope never to be in the position to fight for my family and friends, other than to stand up to an opinion, primarily because I'm scared to think I might run. I fight for what I believe in. To be honest, most of the time I feel more weak and pathetic than anything else as there is nothing for me to prove myself. If someone ever harmed another smaller or deliberately, I'd stick up for them. or if someone harmed my brother or any family member let alone close friends, I'd unleash it all upon the culprit. I would fight for my family, and friends, and the person that i love. I would fight for my morals and my ideals, and i would fight for the right to freedom for all people, as well as equal rights. When it comes to the point that i take a chance and try to make my voice heard in society, maybe i can make a difference in the equal rights part, but until i turn maybe 18--probably older--i'm pretty sure that no politically inclined adult will even bother to hear me out...so i will wait, although the people that deserve equal rights may not be able to, there's not much i can do. I think that not physically, but maybe verbally, i would fight for my religious beliefs. I will not, and don't plan to, force anyone to share my beliefs ever, but i will stand up for what i believe when someong bad-mouths it. There is a chance that I shall fight for things that I normally would not, but these are no so often. If I do not care for it, or care for someone who cares for it - so in that case I would stand up for other's beliefs as well as my own, even if I do not agree - then I am not going to waste my time with it. I am rather idealistic when it comes to things like this. I want to strive for what I want my life to be like. What someone else wants is not going to mean that much to me. It is a little difficult for me to explain in the fullest extent of my opinion, as I am not very opinionated. In a nutshell, it is just those opinions that I do have that I would fight for. Not blindly, of course. In the end and when it comes right down to it, truly, really, sincerely, everyone & everything I care about. For my family it would be instinctive (I wouldn't have to think about whether I would or not); family is a very special thing & it doesn't matter if you're related or not, it's the idea & the feeling that count and make it real. My personal beliefs. Ex: My belief with friendship. I believe that friendship is a very special thing also; some people take the whole idea and meaning of it for granted & lose sight of it's true meaning, then something happens & they realize what it's really about, what it means & they finally see what [I]true[/I] friends are. I try to be nice to people, until they reveal a dark side; then I'm totally evil toward them. I believe we fight for ourselves and that's it. Family is important, friends are important, relationships are important, but who is the one person we are always around. Ourselves. Living for other people is fine and dandy, but the minute we endanger ourselves is the minute we need to stop caring. Relaxing is another necessity. People need to start caring enough to not care. Humanity takes itself too seriously; after-all, we haven't been on this planet too long...only a few thousand years. We're not "da ****." We just need to stop caring so damn much. We've got to relax. I don't mean start laying around the house and smoking pot, but just forget about stuff. I'm an interesting breed. I don't care about much. I guess I'm a cliche: the apathetic college student. But you know what, I don't care about that. I'm a cliche and I've accepted it. People need to accept more stuff. What was the quote from Planet Of The Apes..."We are here and it is now. Accept that and you'll sleep better." That's the bottom line, folks. Accept the world. Stop fighting it. We don't make a difference, cause those in charge all over the world are nuts. I would fight for anything that I truely believe in with a passion, that doesn't go against any of my morals. I would fight for unjusitce, and against hate if I saw it going on. The important thing is though, you must have a passion for what you are fighting for. A fire burning within...you'd do anything to keep the fire alive. Most people say I want to kill any one and every thing, that gose against my honor code! How come no one else has "written" honor code to law only to them-self? Anything that is part of my honor code I'll stand up and fight for.
