CalmLikeABomb
Mike Tyson's Punch Out was eaisly one of the best games ever made. It had interesting characters (although most were racial sterotypes) an actual plot, something not scene commonly in 1987, and decent graphics. Most of all, it was fun and it took real skill to topple Mike Tyson. Did anyone enjoy it like I did and what was your favorite character? My favorite would have to be Super Macho Man becuase even at the age of 17 it's hilarious to see him jiggle his 8-bit pixilated breasts.
Dan Rugh
I like the Soda Pop guy just because his skin was pink. Hahaha. I could never beat King Hippo so I had to watch my brother play the harder matches. I even have the ROM now and I still can't beat that damn pear-looking thing, after cheating with F5 saves. Grrrrrr. Semjaza
I've never ever been able to beat the second fight against Piston Honda. The first is no problem, but I just cannot do the second. I have the cart in my cabinet somewhere... but I just play it in Animal Crossing instead. It even saves your passwords for you, which is nice. I don't know who my favorite guy is. I always liked the trainer guy that chases you on a bike as you run in your pink jumpsuit lol.
CalmLikeABomb
Haha Dan, beating King Hippo isn't that tough if you have the know-how. Wait until he opens his big fat mouth to do a super punch on you, and hit him square in the jaw. It might take a few tries, but if you do it, it'll give you a chance to punch his belly. You can get like 7 or 8 body shots in before he blocks you. Repeat that four times and he'll be down for the count. He's the only guy you're guareneteed a KO on. As for the second Piston Honda, if you punch him in the gut right before he unleashes his piston punches, it'll be an automatic KO. It's tricky, but can be done. I always have a problem with Mike Tyson. Even if you survive his first onslaught of automatic knockdown upper cuts, best of damn luck getting a TKO. Dan Rugh
Hahaha. I know how to beat Hippo, it's just that I can't do it. Actually, I can't even beat Glass Joe in the first round, it always goes into the 2nd round. Oh well, guess I'm not that good. But hey, at least I can beat Von Kaiser in the first round. Oh, I also like that turbin guy and who can forget about Ref. Mario?
CalmLikeABomb
Yeah Great Tiger was kind of cool. And Mario? He seems kind of out of place. Don Flamencoe does enjoy his hair however, as he comments on it sometimes.
Shinmaru
I have no idea who my favorite fighter is. All I know is that I got a serious whipping when I got to Piston Honda.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel [B]I've never ever been able to beat the second fight against Piston Honda. Glass Joe is first (unless you don't count Glass Joe because he's so easy lol) and I can't remember who is second because my copy of the game does not work anymore and I have yet to get the game in Animal Crossing. CalmLikeABomb
You fight Piston Honda two times man. That's what he meant. And he is a little bugger to fight the second time, although I've TKO'oed him in the first round without taking a hit (pure luck.)
NorykoAngelcry
This was a very fun game to me while I was growing up. My brothers and I would spend hours around this game, passing the controllers when someone would lose the match. I mean, we beat the game pretty easily, but that was because we loved games with challenges. We would not put it down until a game was beaten. I honestly don't remember much of the game, besides that Hippo guy. . I think we would just fight him over and over because he was really fun to beat ^_^ I really don't remember how tough Mike Tyson was, but I think I recall an opponent one or two fights before him being more of a challenge then Mike Tyson was. . I might be wrong, maybe it was just tough to me? *shrug* Oh well. . classic game, hands down.

I probably didn't know because I haven't gotten far enough in the game to know about that lol. My Punch-Out!!! "skills" are in serious need of some refining. Charles
I used to play this game religiously. I beat both Mike Tyson's Punch out, and Mr. Dream's Punch out (which is no big deal, considering they're identical to one another, save for a different looking boss). I became so good, that I could go through the game without being touched, almost. Sadly, I never really got into Super Punch Out. It was a fantastic game, but I didn't own a Super Nintendo. lol The only character that gave me a bit of trouble in the original was Bald Bull because of his charging attack. Once I got the timing down on that, I cruised through the rest of the game. My favorite character is probably King Hippo because I have fond memories of him on the Captain N cartoon. animeforever105
hmff. King Hippo is kinda funny. heh. I don't really have a fav. character though. I used to play Punch Out all the time at my friends house. I used to be able to go through the game with no problems. But after moving and not playing it for a couple years I got rusty. My uncle has it on his computer though so I've been able to play it recently. Punch Out is a great game.
