You are incredibly good, I'll say that heh.

I think there are only two real problems honestly. I think you know what they are too, as you've mentioned them in the other threads.

Again, everything looks like leather. I actually don't think it hurts your pictures that much, except for the hair which just looks really odd. The boy's turned out well, but the girl's seems strange to me.

The second one is that you don't seem to pay much attention to light sources and where shadows would actually be. It seems like the main light source is coming from the top left (at least on the boy), but I can't tell... mostly because other areas that would then be shaded (such as the area under the girl) aren't at all. So I don't know heh. They could have light all around them for all I know, but I think choosing a single area to base all lighting and shading on would really help this out.

Anyway, excellent picture either way. You're doing pretty damn well for yourself. I'd also like to say I like your site quite a bit.

I tried, but every time i just lose track a little after I start, and I think if I highlight the shadow with more contrast, it would make the shading look more leather-ish ioi. any help on that? please? XD;;

I think a small reason it's looking leathery is that, even thought you make use of shades... there aren't any real shadows. You know what I mean? Like, there are no especially dark areas to work from. I think the boy's hair actually gets dark enough at points, that it doesn't look quite as glossy as the rest of the image. So maybe if you do what you did with his hair, it would look a little better heh.

Also, I think you did a really good job with the skin tones on this one... You might want to follow that idea with the clothes. Which gets me into what I think is what's causing your problem...

I think the main reason they look leathery is because of all the totally white areas. Unless someone is wearing smooth leather or silk or something, have you ever seen clothes that get all shiny and white when they have light hit them? I haven't lol.

So I think if you tone back those white areas a bit, it would really help that. Whether you just make them smaller, or stick in another color... That's all up to you. However, I do think that's the source of the problem.

If you want to concentrate more on the light sources... I suggest drawing a little beam that goes over the characters from a certain point. You can erase it later, but it gives you some perspective on what you might want to light up and what you don't.

I wouldn't even stress out about it. You're doing an excellent job... But if you're anything like me, you wind up driving yourself insane over small crap in your work that very few people will even notice lol

The skin was skrewed after I resized it, and my computer resources are freaking up so I can't fix it.
