GreenEyedDragon Posted June 23, 2003 Share Posted June 23, 2003 [color=sky blue] I was swimming tonight just about 45 minutes ago, and one of my favorite things to do is go to the middle of the "deep" end (my pool is only 5'6" deep) and just float with my eyes closed....its so peaceful and quiet. SO i got to thinking...i wish i had a secret place...y'know, where you can just go a hide away from the whole world...a place that nobody knows about and where you can just leave it all behind. I don't think i've ever had that...except when i was little--i would get up and set up my barbie 'neighborhood' all across my bedroom floor, and nobody would be awake, and i would just think the dialouge in my head and that was all mine...nobody else could have that with me, because it was only special cuz i was all alone. I'm never really alone ever...there are always people around, that know where i am, and don't have to even wonder what i'm up to. But i wish i had some kind of secret garden; a nice place that didn't require maitenance, and it smelled lovely....with a doorway overgrown with red rose vines...and a fountain where i could sit and think, or cry, or laugh, or just be....i wish i had a place where all my troubles just melted away, and i could feel good and happy all over agian.... but see, i don't have that...not yet atleast...i hope i can find my secret place someday, but until then, i would like you to answer me this: *Do you have a secret place? -whats it like? -did you used to have one...and it melted away? --if not-- *what is your fantasy secret place like? *would you share it with someone...someone special. or something to that extent? I think this might end up in the literature forum, if we don't stay on the subject, so be careful and don't get too carried away with your fantasy secret places, okay? have fun! I have two brothers and no sisters, so I always got to have my own room. I hated having a roommate in the college dorms, and moved out of there into a single sometime mid-semester. I simply hate sharing a room with someone. I have to be able to be alone a lot of the time. I'd walk about half a mile down the beach from the life guard stands (which were always empty) and just sit on some of the broken piers down there. I wasn't always completely alone, but it was a very calming place. There isn't really any way to describe how I used to feel about the lake, except that I belonged there. RPGchick Posted June 23, 2003 Share Posted June 23, 2003 i do that thing at the pool (which is 8ft deep) i go and sit on the drain thingy and just look at the sun patterns on the top of the water. i share a room with my sister, so i dont have much privacy to myself, but i dont like being alone that much anyways. i would rather be in a place where my friends and i could just have fun, and no one would bother us. If I'm by myself and it's too lonely, I end up thinking of stuff I don't want to and I'm depressed for the whole day. Really, I don't have a secret place I wish I had. I have my house, school, town. Our brick mailback sits just where the driveway feeds into that bridge. When it rains or thunderstorms I go and sit next to it, watching the water as it flows down the street, underneath me, and flows down and out beyond my vision into the forest. That's my place, not neccessarily a secret but still. If I did have a secret place, it would definately be a watery, well light cave on a secluded sandy island. In my house I have a room that faces the pool, and there are a lot of windows. I shut the "japanese"-ish style blinds and sit on the rug and watch the sun "patterns" bounce on the ceiling. I like it there. We keep our parrots in there, and while I'm in my own little world, and the birds are chirping and singing. It's really nice. ^^ Me and my friend, Breanna used to sit her in little closet and shut the door and sit in the dark, until we pull out thousands of "glow in the dark" plastic stars. And we would stick them all in the closet, and lie in there and stare at the stars. It was like being in a galaxy. ^^;; Very nice. But that place has been long gone, since I'm no longer good friends with my dear friend, Bre. But if I ever want to be alone..I have this crawlspace in the back of my closet...its really small, and hot, and uncomfortable...but it is my secret place. Unfortunately, all my little places have melted away...i'm really not alone anymore, my room doesn't have doors..::sigh::.. and my sister is right next to my room and so...::shrugs:: i get alone time when i sleep or read. When i'm mad or something, i just go into my room and bury my face in my pillow or go complain to one of my friends that will listen online or something. I like that street light. I don't know why. But it's always so empty, except for the birdsong. The night is always so clear compared to the day, and the wind feels nice coming through the window. And everyone in my house is asleep, or silently locked into their own rooms, so I can think clearly. Between those hours, I just feel like I belong in the silence and the night. It's beautiful. If I ever need my own time in the day, I usually go outside and sit on the trampoline and stare off into space or draw. The internet and the private chat rooms can be considered my private little room to talk with friends like u. Also I have a very special friend who lives very far away from here. When I come visit her, I'm gonna walk with her around the lakes there. Hopefully, that will be our private place where we can find eachother during hard times. I love being able to go in my room to do yoga, meditate(spelling), or to do just relax. It's nice to get away from the world sometimes, but it's also nice to get out wit friends and get crazy!!!
