Sandy
Heeey, don't you dare to quit, Ginger!! I just found this thread. I remembered you mentioning you had a project like this, but I only now came to search it. Sorry... But you know how I'm totally obsessed by FFx2 nowadays (been listening to Real Emotion and 1000 Words for a few days), so you better keep this great idea up! By the way, I found the site you told me about. It's back online! Note to anybody who cares: the site is www.ffx2online.com, and you can find excellent info about the upcoming game there, like the pictures of all the dresses. Would you like to do a "Final Dress" for Aurie too? Hmm, what should it be like... *thinks about what Yu-Ri-Pa's Final Dresses were like* Something three-parted... Hey, maybe if Auron had Jecht's and Braska's head pop out of his shoulders!!! :excited: Eh, bad idea... But please keep going! Just for me, perhaps? :toothy:
Patronus
If you ever quit Ginny, I'll never forgive you. You'll always be my and several others role model and quiting will ruin that. Please, please don't quit. -L/Z
GinnyLyn
Well, you're in luck, guys. I've been working on Auron's new few, ah, "dresses" already. Tamer you've seen, and I've got to pc color it now. Aravis, too. I've already got a final dress for Auron, called the Phoenix Paladin, with Left Fayth Seeker and Right Fayth Seeker. As soon as I get a decent pic scanned, I can put it up. Basically, if you've seen Seraphimon, you already have a slight idea of what Phoenix Paladin is like. Like the name implies, lots of holy type stuff and he'll have seven wings (two of those being the Fayth Seekers, and one being his sword, the "Excalimune" (tentative title). His sword merges with Exaclibur to undergo its own holy transformation.). *prattles on a few more minutes, then smiles softly* Sincere thanks, guys, I needed that. A lot. Xra
Wow..............almost better than squaresoft themselves...... To tell you the truth, this is the best quality fanart work I've ever seen. I'm not even gonna give a rating, cause no number can amount to the greatness to your work. Heh, yeah im exxagerating, but i do really like it 10/10 If you dont mind me asking Ginny, could you give me advanced drawing lessons?:D
GinnyLyn
Here we go: Phoenix Paladin Auron. http://www.angelfire.com/weird2/elementis/phoenixpaladin.jpg I had to do this image in four seperate scans, because the original is 2' in height and 1' wide. O_o; (The dark area is one full scan, so that should give you an idea.) Also, I had to completely redo his head, which is why there is that fuzzy torn edge looking area around it. There's a lot of details that went into this (this sketch took me 3 full hours to do!!!), but my favorite is the sword--Phoenix Paladin has seven wings--6 of which comprise the Fayth Seekers. The final one actually merges with the Masamune to become Auron's holy weapon (instead of Excalibur, like I originally said). Name is still debatable, but I've come up with the following so far: Magnamune MagnaMasamune Excalimune I'm open to other suggestions, too. I need to ink this one and finish inking Tamer Auron and get both computer colored! ^_^; *has so much to do*
Sandy
Definately Excalimune! And I love the details!!! You make them look so realistic! The ornaments in my pics are just random spirals or triangles, with no balanced patterning... One flaw in the picture, though: the upper portion of Aurie is rather big compared to his legs... Well, it's nothing big - the costume is the main thing. :)
GinnyLyn
I thought that at first, too, Sage, but he has a lot of layers on, which is probably making the body look disproportional. The shoulder plate is purposefully big to make room for the wings. I guess his legs could be thicker, but...heh. You're still showing me up, quantity wise. :bawl:
Sandy
Maybe, but you put a lot more time on your pictures. I do my pencil-sketches in ten to twenty minutes. ;)
Guest Chris
o.O . . . his leggs have no hair. that is kinda weird. what a freak. the pic is nice, as always. good job. (why do i always say 'good job' or 'nice work' or something along those lines? it's really starting to piss me off.)
GinnyLyn
Calm down, Chris. (And BTW, his legs are in leggings, so that might explain no hair. ^_~) I think maybe if I draw his knee higher, it'll cut the disproportional clothing some slack. *is now mumbling things only she understands* ^^; EDIT Well, well, I just keep coming up with the ideas before I color them. This next one, however, I am really pleased with. Presenting Berserker Auron: http://www.angelfire.com/weird2/elementis/berserker.jpg I know, I know--that mohawk is really freaking you out, right? Well, there's a reason for it--that's actually a FFX Behemoth scalp he's wearing. Since Behemoths are one of the most powerful enemies in the game, it's a sort of tribute to Auron's own power. You can also see the Behemoth horns protruding from the scalp. Around his neck is a Dual Horn's head; not only was its jaw snapped so the mouth could go around his head, the skull was also split down the middle, to make room for the scalp. The tail is the rest of the Dual Horn pelt. His chest is covered by a Bat (Bad?) Eye's head. His right arm has an Epaaj leg on it, the left has a Demonolith claw. The "feathers" hanging from both arms come from Imps. His loin cloth and leg coverings are from Couerls (tiger stripe) and --ooo, I'm not sure of the name, but it's something like Kumursha, Kumushra, or something. One of those ground dragon fiends. OK, and if you haven't played FFX at all, I probably lost you with all that fiend talk. (Eh, technically, you'd be lost anyway. ^^)
Sandy
Oooooh.... Wow! Very wild, indeed! You've really put your into it, I can see. One minus, though... Auron himself has drowned to the picture, I can't really recognize him... Maybe if you tied the other hand again... But very impressive, anyhow! I can't wait to see the colored version. :)
~*vixen*~
i love it! its awesome! really original i like the black and white version(the very first one) cool! keep up the good work! the auron berserker is also cool!
GinnyLyn
Flat Color (no details or highlight/shadows yet), Take 1 http://www.angelfire.com/weird2/elementis/berserkercolor.jpg Freaky, I know. O_o; I didn't really realize how rainbow colored Berserker Auron came out. o_O; The most difficult part for me to handle right now is the Behemoth King mane. It looks really frelled up and I'm going to have a lot of work ahead of me making that look like hair. There is also going to be plenty of fur and scale details all over this image, so it looks incredibly flat right now. So, laugh, wonder what I'm smoking, offer suggestions, burn something. :p It'll take a few days for the final version (thank the Lord I have vacation next week!). Epitome
Wow its looking great Ginny!! Cant wait to see the finished product. Ive always admired your work. Its all great. Well, post the finished product ASAP.
Sandy
:bawl: *bawls for not having a coloring program* But I don't think the colorization is too rainbowy, I think it's amazing! *loves lots of colors* I myself can't think of anything but few colors per character, but you've used the colors very bravely, and the outcome is just magnificent. Of course there's always a risk that the colors won't match, and then the whole picture is ruined, but you should be very proud of yourself for avoiding that. :D I'll be waiting for the final version... ;)
Guest Chris
far too many bright colors. sorry, i just don't like it. not my breed of duck. maybe if you used lots of greys and blacks and greens.
