Have you ever noticed how Misty and Brock have never been recognized for being Gym Leaders? I mean, Brock is/was the very first Gym Leader a new trainer was to fight. And Misty, a part of the Sisters of Cerealean (sp?). They're....kinda unappreciated.

Yeah, I know. That does sorta bug me. You'd think that when they started travelling, at least the other Gym Leaders, and probably the Elite Four too, would recognise them. Unless the gyms are autocratic, and get passed down through the family, but I highly doubt that.

And another thing: Brock doesn't seem to worry about all his little siblings too much. I mean, I know he left them in the hands of their dad, but he didn't exactly seem the capable sort, if you know what I mean...

His dad was....creepy. He told Ash to use Pikachu, or make him stronger, yet he didn't tell him to use a water or grass type, like a good trainer would.

He's probably telling the kids to use psychic types against dark types. 0-o

Thus the reason why he was a very bad trainer.

Of course their not reconized. A trainer can start out on any gym leader ( except ones that require a number of badges to fight him/her ) Don't expect them to be reconized from a whole another region lol.

Plus... remember this yall... Brock is on the quest to become a Pokemon Breeder now... or was in the earlier episodes.... And misty.. just a complete water pokemon freak....

but yes i agree and notice.. they just arent acknowledges much as being gym leaders... but perhaps after you leave a gym.. when you are the leader... you are demoted... no longer the leader... see what i am saying? Not saying thats how it is.. its just my guess

I don't think they were demoted.
They left on free will, and the gym still ahd full functional leaders.
Besides, who would demote them?

Well, aren't The Elite Four sort of the superiors to Gym Leaders? Maybe the coordinators of the Pokemon League would.

The thing I don't like about it is in the games they don't follow you around like in the show. That always bugged me.

That's probably because he's never mentioned in the games, and they're too lazy to make up an explenation of their own.

As for Brock's dad, it was kind of explained in the episode. He left, so he had to find something else to do to make a living. He probably just figured out that tourists will buy all kinds of crappy souvenirs. :p

But anyway, this thread is getting kind of off topic and also drifting towards being spam. So...
