kumkuat14
Okay I thought that this would be a good topic because I took this poll on Nintendo.com about what would be a good way to introduce non-gamers to the world of Hyrule. So tell in your post,What would be the best way to introduce it. SonicSlash
I think they could have a cartoon(featuring cel-shaded Link, of course) or a non-animated movie using real actors...but that would be boring...its not like you could play as the actor...so let's see...either a cartoon or...I'VE GOT IT!!!A cartoon or a comic! That would work! Desbreko
They've already done comics and cartoons, and both were really bad. (Well, except for the A Link to the Past comics that ran in Nintendo Power). They were a good idea, but they turned out bad. If they were to actually do them good (a whole comic series as good as the LTP ones in NP, or a decent cartoon series), that would be great. I'd love to see them, and I'm sure it would help draw in people that have never played the games. As for a movie, I've never and probably won't ever think they could do a decent one with live action. Not unless I actually see it and like it. I think they should stick to animated stuff, in which case a cartoon series would probably be better anyway.
Dragonballzman
If it was an anime, which lots of sword fighting and a good plot, then it would be good. Same goes with a Manga. But a live action movie? Nuh-uh. Unfortunately, most people look stupid when they dress up in a green tunic and wear white tights. >_>
Deedlit
No cartoons... >_< The movie doesn't sound like a bad idea, but it might turn out horrible.

eleanor
Well, there's already a Zelda manga, and the art is beautiful, it's one of my favorite mangas. I think it would be cool if Zelda was made into an anime since it would have a good plot and lots of action. ^_^
Crisis Analogy
Hmm, an anime would be a better step onto the public screens. A movie might not do so hot, considering the casting for actors and actresses. It might do more harm than good in this case. However, with an anime, things can go alot smoother, without all the bumps of crappy acting, and stupid parodies. The manga's been out for ages.. So thats nothing new to look forward to, really. A real life movie sounds kewl, but I wouldn't really have high hopes for it, seeing as the way it would be portrayed would seem pretty lame. Some of the characters have only a "drawing theme" to them. Meaning, no actor would ever compare, no matter how much is applied to effects. Like I said, do the anime, and see where it takes us. kumkuat14
I know the movie with acual people is kinda wait no really idiotic. But what about an anamated movie like the movie Spirited Away.
Desbreko
An animated movie might work, but as I said earlier, if it's going to be animated I think it would probably do better as an anime series than it would as a movie. Maybe if the anime was good enough, and got popular, a movie would work well after it. But I don't think a movie by itself would do as well as it could if it had something else to go off of.
bignatedawg
a live action movie would be great if it were done right but as far as the series stands i don't think a zelda movie would get a high enough budget it would need. video games have a terrible history of becoming bad movies(super mario bros. anyone?)
Valen
Sorry to bring up an old topic, but it was still on the first page, so... I have seen a so-called "script" to the Zelda Movie that was just a rumor and all, but it will probably not become a movie though... too bad. I think the site it was on got shut down, cuz when I jiust recently went there... it wasn't there anymore. Shame, it was such a good script too. Link didn't exactly appear in it, but Ganondorf and the Theives were pretty cool.
Kahlan
I personally wouldn't mind it being a Novel. Nothing better than one's own imagination. Plus, Books last a long time. *see's all the people looking at her like she's crazy* ... An Anime wouldn't be too bad. But it would be a short series. I don't think it would do good with more than 25 episodes. What about a computer generated movie?
OtakuSennen
Heh.. At ganonstower.com or something like that they have a page about some guy who's written a script and done a storyboard for a Zelda animated movie.. But Nintendo didn't tell him to, so they probably won't let him do it.. But it looks good enough. Also, there was a live action movie that came out before LoZ on NES did, and I think Miyamoto once said it inspired him.. It was called "Legend", I believe.. *shrugs* Just thought I'd bring those up.. Well, anyhoo.. I think a live action movie wouldn't be that great.. It would have to be, like, 4 hours long to fit in an entire game's worth of storyline.. And then we'd have to see Link actually talk! *gasp* Besides, how many actors out there can look good in tights and wield a sword at the same time? *nods* I think an anime would be best. Maybe just 26 eps long like most original anime in Japan.. That would cover about one game's worth of stuff, I suppose.. ^_^
Brasil
If any cinematic adaptation is created, seems to me that a traditional animation would be the way to go. Classic Disney...something in the style of Sleeping Beauty or Snow White. I feel that epic and grand aura of those Disney animations from the 40s and 50s would fit Zelda beautifully. Malificient and the illustrations in the Zelda manuals look very similar. A Zelda movie shouldn't use CG because we might get some horrid result like the E3 demo. Link looked like Barbie, and Ganondorf looked like Alfred E Neuman. I wouldn't mind some animation like The Lion King, because that used a minimal CG insert for backgrounds and such and looked damn spectacular. Basically, traditional, hand-drawn, cel Disney animation for a Zelda film.
Shippo
I dont reallly think they should turn Zelda into a movie=/. Its just...Zelda's a game, and i think it should stay like that. It was meant to be a videogame, with puzzles and all...It just wouldnt come out good in a movie. --- There's already been a manga and a cartoon and they didnt sell very good(like others said) either. --- Nintendo (IMO) should stick to Zelda being a game,...i mean, its famous enough the way it is. Valen
Yes, as Square was with Final Fantasy... then they turned it into a movie. The movie was so-so, but the series was much better. Now, back on topic... I have found the script saved on a floppy, but now is a matter of hoping for it to be in tact and complete. Well, I shall post it up when I see if it'll even work. Kahlan
All those different Links? That would confuse those who know nothing about zelda. You got to remember, everything they do with a new game in a series, they are able to make a connection with previous games, but they have to make it so it wouldn't be too confusing for newcomers to the series. Same with shows. It probably wouldn't be as good if all the Links and games were rolled onto one show. They would either stick with one time, or most likely make the show totally new with barely any connections to the games. Games are novels in them selves, and if u make a novel into a movie, its going to change. Make a movie into a show, its going to change even more. Desbreko
Yeah, there's a manga. It follows the basic storyline of Ocarina of Time. You can find a translation on the net, but I've never actually gotten around to reading it. I keep meaning to, but I find it such a pain to read that sort of thing on a PC. I'm too used to reading actual books, I guess.
