No, actually, it really isn't enough. :twitch: You need to actually give reasons about why it's underrated--otherwise the post is just spam. Please provide some if you post in here again.

Underrated games? I am having heaps of trouble thinking of one. I usually end up with big hits. But there is one that sticks out in my mind.

Rollcage. It was kind of like Wipeout but you could go up walls and stuff. You had magnets in the wheels or something. The sense of speed to the game was incredible, and racing against a friend is incredibly fun. eg: He is moments from the finish line, about to win... and you blast him with a freeze ray and he spins out of control, letting you take the win.

Another fun game was Midnight Run 2, which was similar but set in the real world, in normal cars, and with awesome multiplayer. Same eg as above though. Very smiliar games indeed.

I must agree, Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon was a fantasic game, yet obscenely underrated. I absolutely adored this game, it was completely insane and random,
You have to stop Japan's inhabitants being kidnapped for a hugely large dancing stage performance
, the music kept me up all night. Even with the game turned off I couldn't get the tunes out of my head, the graphics were great for the time and the gameplay was fantastic. My favourite N64 game of all time.

I'm bored, so I'm going to make a list of games. I mentioned a couple before, so I'm sorry... but I'll add more detail to them.

Clash at Demonhead (NES) -- This is one of my favorite, if not the favorite, NES games I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I liked it so much that the character I played in Shy's Don't Shoot the Goombas was Bang. He just happens to be the main character.

It was put out by the now largely forgotten Vik Tokai (which was never known for great games as it was). It just had a great mix of action, RPG elements and adventure. You had to go around a map visiting different locales, sometimes a few times to get all the information you needed. You learned magic, you could buy all sorts of weapon and equipment, etc.

The game looked great and sounded great too. The story was beyond absurd, really. That's what made it so fun. People died, others were posessed by demons and who knows what else. I absolutely loved it.

Battle of Olympus (NES) -- This was a Zelda II clone. From what I can tell, it was actually put out in the time between the US and Japanese releases of Zelda II. There are many graphics that are incredibly similar.

I just feel this is the better game out of the two. It took Zelda II's item management ideas to a whole new level. The idea of towns was more evolved, the battles were far more tough and the game just seemed bigger. I had a great time with it.

Gitaroo Man (PS2) -- Considering how fast this dropped to $20, I have to assume it didn't do so hot. It got average to great reviews, depending on the publication though.

What you have here is really the best music game there is outside of the Frequency and Amplitude games. I don't even really know how to explain how to play it, but it's definitely like nothing else out there right now.

What makes it so cool is the vast array of music genres in the game and its quirkiness. The game is very, very Japanese, that's for sure.

Frequency (PS2) -- I guess to a less extent Amplitude as well. From what I can tell, neither of these did very well. I got Frequency for like $20 three weeks after it came out. It never enjoyed the level of success it deserved. Best music game there is, in my opinion.

Bomberman Generations (GameCube) -- The single player mode in this game is decent, but not the greatest. I still had fun with it, as it was well done and surprisingly clever.

The multiplayer modes rock though. If you can find this super cheap, I'd pick it up for those alone.

F-Zero GX (GC) -- I don't know how "underrated" this game is, but I do know for a fact that it is not selling so well compared to most Nintendo games. I don't think it really even made a dent in the charts.

It deserves far more because, in my opinion, it's one of the best games on the system. The amount of new ideas added to this game is pretty substantial... and while the Story Mode is rather ridiculous, it's still fun. I played this game to death.

Skygunner (PS2) -- I think a lot of people at OB would love this game. It was made by a Sony team, but published in the US by Atlus. Atlus being cool even allows you to choose between English and Japanese music and dialogue. Yay.

Anyway, it's really cool anime-influenced airplane shooter. It's somewhere between a realistic approach and an arcade game. Worth picking up if you see it for cheap somewhere.

I'll add more later heh.

Skygunner totally and completely rocks, in my opinion. I'm a sucker for a great shooter and Skygunner fits the bill quite nicely, heh. I agree that a lot of people here would probably enjoy the game, too - it's tough enough to hold in shooter fans, but it's fun enough to hook in more casual gamers. I'll probably do a spotlight on my myOtaku about Skygunner one of these days...as soon as I get around to doing non-Nintendo games. lol
