Guest lavalamp
I'm too moody to act mature/immature consistently. I act my age in general, instead of making myself look stupid like so many other people do when they work too hard at being too mature. People who try too hard to be mature/immature get on my nerves. Be natural; please.
JC Goodwin
I guess im pretty imature when it comes down the line cause i still love to watch cartoons and eat tons of crap food. I always act like a right jerk when im with my friends at school, at home. Anywhere really. Or Maybe im just a right prat!?
Epitome
Alot of my friends tell me that I act way too mature for bring only 14 years old, but I dont really see it. And lets say I am, I would rather be more mature then immature but thats just me. And alot of people on here actually said that I act really mature for my age... and Ill play around once in a while and make an immature joke, but I dont think Im immature all around. So yea thats my outlook on myself.
Godelsensei
I've been told on numerous occasions, by adults, that they feel embarassed, mis/uninformed or inadequate when talking to me. I don't know whether this is a compliment or just a statement announcing that I am mean. I've been described as "wise" and "level-headed" by online friends my age, who often come to me for advice. I don't know why though, as I am immature in the fact that I pretty much live behind my moniter. I often find myself telling my friends to take a different approach to what they're doing, but end up being ignored until it's too late. Gah. Then again, I can be a smart-assed, contemptuous, self-absorbed little kid sometimes. :p
Kanariya
Hm, I'm 11. I have no idea what age people in IM, or the OB thought. I'm not 'immature', I would just say sometimes I get really really really hyper. Hyper active, sugar addicted 11 year old is what I am, though sometimes I really act as if I'm 16, my moody moments. That's when if someone walks in the room, I'll yell 'piss off', or something like that. I go crazy in hyper moments; I run into walls, try cutting off my finger, and other random stuff. Sadly, most of my hyper moments end up in school, and I got a lunch detention already. >>
Nats
I do act older...but not here. On OB, I just play around a bit and all. Life is something you don't have to take fully. I bet you don't have a clue what I meant...but, all the same, I'm childish here and reallllllllllllllllllllllllly mature ever were else.
That's exactly what I do! What? Did you actually think that my old posts were at the best quality I could give? Didn't think so. As for acting older, I don't try to act older, I just do it. When I was around 12, everyone said that I looked around 15, so that might be it. (Although, I haven't changed a bit since then!) Another reason is because I don't talk much, and when I do, it's always polite and with a smile on my face. *Coughcough* That is because [strike]I was told that if I didn't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all[/strike] I don't have anything to say.
Motfati
I can be mature if I want or need to, like when I'm in a conference room or the office at school or something. But, for the most part- I think I act my age with a tiny bit on the immature side. One of my pet peeves is little girls who try to intimidate you because they think they're all grown-up. They definetly get that out of Barbie dolls. Thank God my mother didn't let me have them when I was younger... I also think that older people who are immature for their age are really cool people. They live life in a good way and they appeal more to younger children. If babysitters have that quality, that's really cool. I remember Old Mrs. Winkle... *shudders*
eleanor
They definetly get that out of Barbie dolls. Thank God my mother didn't let me have them when I was younger... *gasp* No Barbie dolls?! [I think she just broke up with Ken, lol. Now her boyfriend is some Austrailian dude...] Me: I'm either hyper [immature], silent, or mature whenever I want to be. I'm usually hyper when I'm with one friend but I realized she can be dead personality-wise at some points as well yesterday. *coughs* My self-esteem is actually pretty low when I'm by myself, but it doesn't bother me when I'm with friends. Hence, my silence. Don't mistake silence with maturity; people think I'm ultra-smart and ultra-mature because I don't talk in class, and it's very irritating. Other than that, I actually think I'm more mature than a lot of people my age but still irrational when I'm angry enough. I'm like...secretly arrogant so I can get pissed off at a lot of things. There's no difference in how I act URL and live, except that I'm rarely hyper online. I'm actually pretty boring when I think about it, I tend to suck the happiness out of a lot of internet conversations. =_=.
Kent
I have always been more mature than my age would imply. When my father died I was 7 years old, that will change you. Sadly, sometimes the first thing you learn about the world is the cold truth of death. When life and death gets broken down like that, you learn about the real world, and you learn quickly. After something like an immediate family death, jr. high and high school are cake. Unfortunately, immaturity does not stop after highschool or even college, infact, immaturity can last all of someone's life. I hope you all can manage to be mature in life, it will help you. So good luck out there in the real world and remember to always enjoy life. :D

Guest Crimson Spider
It depends on who I'm around. Here... I really don't know. What one see's as immature is often sheerly just different from what they think. I'm 16... and I pretty much act 16. Often times as an excuse to further abase me, people call me immature and obnoxious because they don't agree with me, while other people will praise me for agreeing with me and say I'm one mature guy. So I can't really say what I am since the definition of mature varies per person. But I see myself as mature.
Akki Koroshiya
I can act alot older or alot younger. I find it easier to act olde ror younger on the Net for some reason. Here I'll say really stupid stuff and wish i hadn't said it as once i go backa nd read it 15min. later, it seems egotistical and immature. Or on a site i run I can act a bit more mature when it involves the site and stuf like that. Real life is pretty much teh same, bouncing off the walls on minute, mediating in the wood sthe next.(Though i needa do that more often now o.o)
Boo
I think older than I act I guesse. Mostly I act just weird at school, but thats to let off some energy somewhere lol. And well then its just that that is quite less mature than how I think I guesse . Incidentally I even were thinking really deeply about christian religion and stuff. But yeah, like kotr, it really depends on my mood and the people around me.
Shinmaru
I'd like to think I'm mature but maturity is a really subjective thing nowadays; everyone has a different idea of maturity. With maturity, I think a lot of people see others acting intelligent and equate that with maturity...I don't really see it that way, though. I basically agree with what Tony said: maturity is knowing when what you're doing is appropriate for the situation. A mature person can goof off and have fun with their friends when the time is right. I don't really see a problem with that, heh. A mature person will also know when what they do is inappropriate for a certain situation. But, still, it's pretty subjective - I'm sure there are people with a totally different opinion of maturity. EDIT: Also, I don't think acting mature is "acting older than you are". That's just silly, in my opinion lol.
Panda
No matter how old some people are, they will NEVER be mature. From what I have seen, I am one of the older members of this board. I am 28 and have always "seemed older" than I really am. I agree with many of the above posts that age and maturity do not go hand and hand. I have seen senior citizens who act more immature than a 2 year old throwing a tantrum in a toy store! I love anime, I am 28, does that make me immature? I don't think it does. There is a time and place for every action and response. If you can't tell how you are suppose to act in that situation then you are not mature. Zen
Well, I've been told I'm pretty mature for my age because of my interest in philosophy and such. But my humor is pretty immature cuz me and my buds make the worst and most fowl jokes about the male and female sexual organs that its not even funny. But I try to be a nice guy all around. I never make fun of a person and mean it, and I all ways make sure they understand that I;m never serious when I say things like that. I guess I'm above average on the charts.
G/S/B Master
^takes ten year olds to the next level I'm 10, and I'm mature.....I think ~_~. Depends on the mood, location, and the poeple around me. If around friends, fart/other immature jokes for the boys (immature), and normal talking to girls (usually mature ~_^). If I'm near a teacher or my parents, I'm mature, if I'm near my sister, im/mature. And if I'm at home, im/mature and if I'm at my dad's friend's house, mature. If I'm angry, immature since I throw insults everywhere. If i'm happy, im/mature ^_^. So yes, I'm mostly mature. Usually my teachers say I'm a young man..... whatever they mean by that >_>. Maturity depends on how you react to things. Thats how I think it is for now.
sailor firestar
 Oh ho ho isn't this a fun topic! I totally act younger than my age & am proud of it! Not in a bad way though, I am responsible enough to have gotten 2 college degrees and somehow weaseled myself a job in a respectable Texas school district. I take every excuse I can to dress like a kid, hang out with kids, and enjoy kid passtimes though. It's just too bad there aren't more of us out there. :freak:
Fall
I'm mature, compared to some of the idiots that go around here my age. I know a kid sixteen years old that thinks he's cool throwing a rock at the car of an old lady who he says "tried to kill him two years ago". And then you get the fourteen year-olds who put nothing worth knowing in paper bags and throw them at houses. ...yeah. I got to admit, I've joined in a few times, but I know it's pretty damn immature. I mean, there's no way I enjoyed the "fun" as much as my peers did. Compared to most kids I know, I could be one of the most mature kids around my age.... eh. I can hold back from things that my friends like doing, mostly immature acts of crime... or close. Most of the time I can, anyway. ...:drunk:
Mikkaddo
me, Im more mature than most of the people I go to school with . . .meaning that as a junior I am more mature than the vast majority of the senior class, and what does that mean for me? Im constantly pissed at someone. afterall, all they seem to do is try and piss off someone (usually me or my friends) or try and piss off each other, and it goes far beyond random stuff they might say in the halls. they loosened the bolts on a friend of mine's car, taped all kinds of notes over mine about how I supossedly am a *** and love one of our teachers and publicly humiliate each other. then they act like they're cool because they do it . . . :flaming: meanwhile me and my friends are left to try and keep from getting back the old fasioned way, the teachers? they can't do anything, why not? theres no evidence pointing to a single group why? no one is smart, or brave enough other than me and two other people to say anything. personaly I act very mature. I don't do any of that kind of stuff to anyone, if I have a beef with someone I don't sabotage them I tell them, if a friend gets hurt I help them rather than get revenge imediatly

Fushigi Rockna
Hard... I believe I'm mature, but a lot of the times i act a bit immature (if cheerful and joke-like can be called immature) but most times I try to find a balance, so i don't feel old. X) So I, think I'm mature.
