maybe I'm an elitist, but by the fact i can't spell I may not be, but I often feel that most of the people around me are a waste of my time. And its not nessecarily that I am more mature than them its just thats how I feel... but if thats normal I guess I act like everyother teenager my age... god I hope not. actually I don't have to hope I know.

I view myself as very mature and take pride in this fact. I am very young but I continually go beyond expectations. Unfortunately, I am angsty on occasion so I'm not quite done maturing yet. And combining my usually superior maturity with my appearance, I'm sometimes mistakenly believed to be 20 or older. When in fact, I'm a mere 14 years of age. Sure, at times I an be viewed immature, by teasing people. But, I only tease to show I'm staving off loneliness for those without friends. But, as mentioned I'm prone to fits of angst, though sometimes misinterpretedly. I handle matters with great care and tend to look at them through a practical view. Unfortunately, I'm so busy being mature sometimes the stress gets to me. By that I mean I have already had my first grey hair. And I'm 14. *_*

I can act quite immature at times (for example, a few days before I rolled down a flight of stairs. To top that, today I decided to roll back up them - believe me, its not as easy as it sounds!), but I tend to find the right balance of maturity and immaturity. I act mature for the most part, but I tend to do at least 1 stupid and immature thing a week, just so I can have some fun and enjoy myself. You can't always be serious, otherwise you'd go insane (well, I would...). BTW, I'm 17, so I probably should be more mature, but I'm gonna enjoy my childhood while I still can!

People from other forums call me mature for my age because I'm actually smart for a thirteen year old. I'm also not making spelling errors every two seconds and I type damn fast. I also don't stereotype like some teens these days... :o I also don't make fun of people that much.

Whats with the maturity issue these days? whats so great about constantly trying to prove yourself to people you could care less about just so they dont cal you "immature" its so much funner to do what you want than to be confined to what others think about you, and it still doesnt make you immature. Id do somethin that was hilarious to me and a couple friends at the cost of some 10-14 year old kids callin me immature, I just laugh in their face when they do. :D
but I dont go overboard with it either.

I'm not to sure. When I'm around adults, then I act mature. When I'm at school and around people I don't know, then I still act mature. When I am around my friends, then I act like myself, which is immature and a little bit mature. When I'm at home or around my parents, then I do the same thing-IMMATURE!!!!!

First of all I'm yet to meet a mature thirteen year old. But there's a first time for everything.

I've been told that I act overly mature for my age, and that I look two years older as well. I wouldn't go that far but that's just my opinion.

I've had to watch over me and my brother since I was about 9. Our dad has never been around so my mother is the only one who works, we just learned to do things on our own and it's kinda had an effect on us. I had to grow up in a hurry for the common good. :-p

well, it kinda sorta not really but ya depends on the situation(s) your looking at. in some ways, I am, or at least my mom thinks I am, mature because I am a middle school girl and not obsessed or very interested in popularity, clothes, makeup, boyfriends, crushes, appearance, ect.
I am kinda immature though b-cuz I use my own made-up slang, love to prove peoples wrong, love to correct people, love to (jokingly)diss people, read my 5 year old and 8 year old brother's books (hehehe, ya), scare my brothers, and amuse people by drastically changing my hair every few months (this month it's very short and spiked in the front, so w/o my earrings, I look like a boy).

I'd have to say I act a few years older than I really am. Because there is no such thing as true 'maturity' or 'immaturity'. I would have to say it is morely how you act at a certain time.
It sort of knowing how to act at certain time and/or place.

I'm 13 years old and I rapidly switch between mature and immature. I guess I'm really mature and wise for my age, but have an extremely immature way of showing it. I tend to be very philosophical and hold strong opinions; I hate to break the rules, and popularity is very low on my list of priorities, but then again, I'm hyperactive and thoroughly enjoy acting weird, on purpose. I'm very intelligent and love to write very symbolic stories, but fill them with an equally extreme amount of humor (the majority of which is word-play or playing with the characters' personalities and quirks). So, yeah, I'm immaturely-mature (mature thoughts and opinions, but immature ways of showing them 90% of the time, though I can act very mature sometimes, especially when I'm feeling sad or philosophic).

Damn that's a good question. I'd have to say mostly act more maturely than I am (hell I look much older than I am). Sometimes... who am I kidding... I joke around alot and make myself look like an idiot but alot of the time I'm a serious guy. Only time im screwed up is at school.
