I decided that instead of making a "My Music...not Overview V5" I would make this thread instead. Considering that is all I would talk about in MMNOV5. ^_^

I'm not quite sure where this should be, because I am talking about the music yes, but I am also talking about what I did and such. Whatever, this is a tricky thread to place so stick it anywhere you want. =P

The Morning:

Well I woke up at 2:00 AM in the morning and I couldn't fall back asleep, so by the time we were at the concert I was wiped. I went to the concert with my sister's boyfriend, Will. We ate Subway on the way there and listened to Tool. When we got to the parking lot however, I thought it would be humorous to blast whatever was on the local Rap/RnB station and roll down the windows. It was awesome, people were staring at us everywhere we went.

2nd Stage:

9:30 AM Grade 8 - Didn't See

9:55 AM Depswa - Didn't See

10:20 AM Revolution Smile - Didn't See

10:45 AM Motograter - Didn't See

11:10 AM Memento - Didn't See

11:35 AM Hotwire - Didn't See

12:00 PM Twisted Method - Didn't See

12:30 PM Killswitch Engage - We got there in the middle of their set, I personally didn't like them much. They sounded bland and uninspired, like it was manufactured. So in other words...they suck.

1:00 PM Shadows Fall - This was one of my favorite bands on the tour, they remind me of Slipknot. But the singer can't sing nearly as well as Corey Taylor. They are really cool, I talked to them a bit through a gate. =P

1:30 PM Nothingface - They sounded pretty good from what I heard, but for most of their set I was looking for a Shadows Fall T-shirt.

2:00 PM Unloco - This was another good band that suprised me. They were from Austin and they had a huge fan base here. I didn't think they were amazing, but they seem like a band that would get bigger in the future.

2:30 Pmendo - I didn't get to hear them, I was in the Playstation 2 booth thing. I played AMPlitude, that game is awesome, I need to buy it.

3:00 PM Sworn Enemy - These guys were pretty good, not a lot of people liked them. But I liked their style, they played an alright set. But I got bored of them really fast. :/

3:30 PM Voivod - This is the worst band I have ever heard, the singers voice is really annoying and they played a very long set.

4:20 PM Cradle Of Filth - This has been a band I've liked for a long time. When they came on I tried to get to the mosh pit as fast as I could. Unfortunatley I couldn't get in, it was way too tightly packed. CoF acted really weird on stage, anyone who has heard them knows how weird the singers voice is. He sounds even stranger when he is talking normally. He said some strange things too, "We are a collection of indaviduals, who are reffered to as scum, or Cradle Of Filth" and then they said "This song is entitled" a lot. They were definatley the best band on the 2nd stage, maybe the best on the tour.

Main Stage:

5:00 PM Chevelle - I really don't like them. =D

5:45 PM Disturbed - They played an OK set, I was (yes, it's actually true) asleep for some of it. I only really wanted to hear "Prayer" anyway.

6:50 PM Marilyn Manson - This was an amazing set, I'm not a big fan of his new stuff. I really hated that song mOBSCENE, so I'm don't think I'll buy the new album. But he played some older stuff, which I love so I was jumping around in my seat and such.

7:55 PM Korn - Best set on the tour. Why? Because I knew the words to all of their songs and the old lady behind me let me use her binoculars to see them. =P

9:00 PM Ozzy - I kinda didn't watch him, I left. Not a big fan of Ozzy.

Other Stuff:

I got David Drainman's autograph which was pretty cool.

I won an Ozzfest Sampler, it has mainly second stage bands though.

I just can't get over how awesome AMPlitude was, I loved it so much. I know this isn't a gaming thread, but that was one fun game. :p

Initiating Discussion:

In past threads I've had trouble (or people have had trouble seeing) how I am starting any discussion at all. So here are some questions...

Did you go to Ozzfest this year?

Have you ever been to an Ozzfest?

If so what was your favorite band, what activities did you participate in?

The End

Not sure if this should be here, or in Music... I'll let someone else decide :D

Not going to Ozzfest this year. I have no interest in any of these bands outside of Manson, Cradle of Filth and Killswitch Engage. I simply grew out of KoRn, and most of the others I never gave a crap about.

Manson better have their own tour seperate from Ozzfest. I'm not paying $79 to see all that other crap. The last tour would have rocked... especially since Down was in the lineup.

That said, I wouldn't judge the CD based on mOBSCENE at all. It's really not reflective of the entire album whatsoever. Depends what else they played though, I guess. There are a few songs off Golden Age of Grotesque that I'm not really into at all.

Also, Amplitude rocks. Everyone should buy it; only $17 something at Target right now, if they have any left. Frequency is still better though heh.

Aww, you should it is really worth it. Unloco, Shadows Fall, and Nothingface are awesome. Yeah, I forgot to mention Manson had two naked women on stage with him. It was sort of strange, I wasn't quite sure how to take it. o_O;; Oh and whoever re-placed Twiggy is awesome, pure white hair is too cool.

Twiggy was replaced by Skold... who used to be in KMFDM. Last I saw, other than Manson, they had all bleached their hair though. Skold always had the weirdest fashion sense though heh.

Twiggy was really a showman too. He's come up with all these crazy ways to hold the guitar, while whipping his hands around it... still somehow playing everything flawlessly. That and the the guy seemed to be able to do every style I can think of. Is Skold great on stage?

Either way, I know Twiggy is going to kick *** in A Perfect Circle... new CD is coming in September :D

Manson's show was supposed to have all this crazy stuff involved. I don't know how much he actually wound up doing, or actually could do... but it was supposed to be like a big production with painted elephants, a freak show and all sorts of stuff.

Glad you had fun. Where town was it in anyway? lol

I think "Skold" and the drummer were the only members that still had bleached hair, though. KMFDM, I think I liked them, but I'm not sure because there is another band with similar letters involved and I get confused. :p

I live in San Antonio, Texas. So it was like 95 degrees outside, standing around, jumping around, and sitting. I'm so red I could literally be compared to a lobster.

Manson's set up wasn't nearly as elaborate as that. But they did have a blow up thing and two posters of him with tape all around his fave and wearing Mickey Mouse ears. It was pretty enteretaing, but I missed a lot of ****, what with sitting down because my feet were tired and all. We were there from 12:30 to 8:30, it was a pretty gruelling expirience. I'm going to have to get in shape for next years Ozzfest. :p

You're probably confusing KMFDM and MDFMK... the names are just reversed lol. They're basically the same band. Skold is the guy's last name, by the way... not some goofy nickname haha.

If I somehow magically win tickets I'll go. It's just so expensive. Same with Lullapalooza. I want to go see Queens of the Stone Age and Jane's Addiction... but not for $75 field seating.

Ha, I get to go for free. My parents are paying because my Aunt wants to go. I still have not heard Jane's Addiction, I've been meaning to pick up one of their albums for a while now. I want to see Queens Of The Stone Age and Audioslave, I like Incubus a little too. Looks like it will be fun.

But Ozzfest id really worth it man, I still think you should shell out the money. Fun stuff.

I havn't been to the official Ozzfest, but something called the "Day Off Fest", Offest for short came to my town. It was actually a mini version of the Ozzfest. The original bands were Slipknot, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, and Mudvayne. There could have been one or two more but all of the concerts I've been to kind of run together. Anyway, Slipknot was replaced by Drowning Pool, because Slipknot was going on Conan that night as a musical guest (Well I assume they were a musical guest). I was kind of upset about it at first but then I liked Drowning Pool more than I thought I would. I saw Slipknot in concert a few months after anyway. All in all, it was a great concert. I think I would prefer to go to the Ozzfest though because it's outside and this was inside.
