Heartless Me

The ferry sat awaiting the sixth and final member of the contest for an extra hour, when she didn't show, the boatman finally pushed off and headed toward the castle in the middle of the lake. It was quite late in the afternoon and they believed it would be near dark by the time they had actually reached the castle. It was visible from the shore, but barely. A distance only a marathon swimmer would want to trek and they wouldn't want to if they knew what swam in those waters.

OOC: There it's not much of an opening but it puts all the players isn one spot for social interaction before they reach the castle.

Dr. Luyii, or "Trance," watched her surroundings carefully and smiled in spite of herself. This was about to become more intersting that she had previously thought. Apparently, she was the oldest female here....excluding the one that didn't show. But there were two males either the same age, or older to her. Mentally, she categorized their strengths and weaknesses, factoring in what she could see on their person. She rested her hand on her purse, knowing her switchblade was a flick away.

Trance turned and eyed the male watching her. Corey. If she had heard his name right. She shifted her position, legs showing through a slightly sheer skirt. His gaze flickered down and she purred through a half open mouth.

Trance: May I help you?

Corey: Doubtful.

Trance: ....maybe.

Corey- "I highly doubt that you could cure what is wrong with me. However, a nice romp in the bedroom would suffice." I smiled at the woman and turned around, looking over the lake. The water was calm. It told my mood perfectly, Right now it was perfectly calm, but at any time it could rise into hateful waves the size of a small building. But of course we were traveling on a lake and not in the ocean. The worst that could hit us here were a few stray watery sprays.

The group was missing one person.

A woman from what the boatman had told us. There was no use in waiting any longer and upsetting our host. Everyone had agreed to shove off. The ferry would return at a later time to see if anyone was there.

Wouldn't you like to walk over and slice each of their heads off?

I grimaced and took a bottle of pills from my pocket. It was filled to the top with small, yellow tablets. I took out two and dry-swallowed them. I shook my head to clear it. The voice quieted almost at once. Being bi-polar certainly had it's drawbacks.

She smiled to herself. At least he was honest about it. And that was more than she got from her usual patients and such. Then she eyed him swallow the pills....that explained a bit.

Corey: Yes?

Trance: Nothing.

Corey: I didn't catch your name...

Trance: I never gave it to you.

Corey: Well...may I have the honor of knowing it?

She extended a perfectly manicured hand, flashing him a beautiful smile.

Trance: Dr. Luyii Megelani. But you can call me Trance.

Corey: Pleasure.

Trance: It's all mine. You can also let go of my hand now.

Namida didn't know what to think of these people.. She sat on the oppsite end of the man steering. Her eyes flitted from person to person, then back at the water. She watched the waster when she didn't want people to know she was ease dropping.

She sighed softly to herself. she shifted green frilly coat and looked at her feet, mumbleing something about horrible but matching.

her eyes scanned the water as the slowly neared the castle. It was getting dark, the sun was about ready to set, the rays of orange and red streaked the sky putting on a dazzling display, the reds melding into the light blue that still spanned some of the eastern sky. Her eyes turned to the water again, she looked down at her own reflection and the refliction of the dazzeling sky.

She lifted her head yett again. This woman Trance, she thought she heard. A Dr., caught her intrest quickly, although she would keep quiet, not wanting to come off as a big mouth, which she usually was, though these people wouldn't know that.

She sighed softly again and turned back to the water.

Corey- "Placid..." Trance looked up at me.

Trance- "Pardon?" I pointed at the water. She stood and walked over to me.

Corey- "The water. It doesn't move. It just sits there." I held up my hand and felt for wind. There was none. "But you see, with even the slightest hint of wind the sirface can become as violent as... Well, pure anger." I slipped my gaze from the water to Trances face. She was looking into my eyes.

Trance- "What were the pills for?" I smiled.

Corey- "I have a condition."

Trnace- "Obviously. And what would that condition be?" My grin widened.

Corey- "Wouldn't you like to know." A small smile gripped the sides of her lips and tugged them upward. "I'm severely bi-polar." I turned back to the waver and watched the waves that came off our ferry. I could still feel eyes on me. "To answer your next question, yes. I do have it under control. And then the next would be no. As long as I have my medication, everything should be fine." I turned to look at her again. The last remaining sunlight shone on her face, making the woman seem nearly angelic. I smiled and turned back to the water. A wind was picking up. I looked west, into the setting sun and noted quite a few ominous clouds peaking over the horizon. It looked to be a stormy night.

Isiona sighed, zipping up her black jacket. She wanted to say something...she couldn't get it out. Hmm...I'm getting a little itchy...time for music. Smiling, she reached into her pocket--pulling out her CD player. Snapping her headphones on, she turned on the music--full blast. She was pretty sure that the group could hear her...but she could care less.

Singing lowly, she closed her eyes, her crossed legs moving up and down to the beat playing. Her fans clicked rhymically, clanging in her lap. Isiona sighed deeply, rotating her head clockwise, trying to get rid of the stress and tension she was feeling at the time...

Aorashi noticed the women with the Cd player, but not many couldn't. he walked up to her and watched her sing with her song. the women started to feel someone watching her. she opened her eyes to see Aorashi.

Aorashi: excuse me mamma i...

Isiona: i'm not turning it down.

Aorashi: oh, i was acually going to introduce myself. my name is Aorashi.

Isiona: thats a interesting name.

Aorashi: that it is, might yours be interesting as well?

Isiona: depends, its Isiona.

Aorashi: i would say it's interesting. nice to meet you Isiona.

Aorashi kissed her hand as he had the other women and bowed out. he went wondering around the rest of the boat to meet everyone else.

Trance: Well aren't you the lucky one? To be on a boat and soon a house with a doctor. Although your field is slightly different from mine.

Corey: And what field would that be?

Trance: Reproduction and Development.

She winked at him, then looked out over the waves again, elbows resting on the side of the boat. He stared at her behind for a moment, then leaned over next to her.

Corey: How old are you?

Trance: Ancient. Try 28.

Corey: That was easier than I expected.

Trance: Of course...finding out more than that, might be more difficult. Unless you are as handsome under the suit as you are with it on.

She winked at him and turned. The fringe of the skirt caught the breeze and gently grazed against his pant legs. He chuckled. This was going to be an interesting night.

Juran raced off at top speed trying to get to that boat on time. He had a bad habit of forgetting the time. He looked into the fog and took a leap of faith for the boat.
"SAFE!" he yelled upon landing, scaring everyone elso on the boat.
"Ai, raios..." He said to himself.
"Eh...Ola, pessoal! Hi everybody..." Juran was quite embarrased, he figured he would be in hot water the second he had arrived.
"Qui estas fazendo?! What are y'all doing?" He asked of the group, testing his Poruguese. This was going to be quite a trip...

Isiona sighed, slipping her headphones off of her ears.

People are weird...remember that. she thought, sighing again, deeper than before. Especially that 'Aorashi' character... She simply shrugged her shoulders, not wanting to speak to anyone else...if that was possible.

Putting back on her headphones, she looked around. Here she was...on a boat...with strangers that she wouldn't probably want to know. "What would mother say?" She shrugged again, knowing the answer, and took off her jacket.

Opening her purse, she took out a black rag and a red bottle, placing both items on her jacket. Pouring some of the contents of the red bottle on the rag, she began to chant in her native tongue lowly.

She rubbed the rag delicately across one of her fans, making it shine and reflect. She did the same with the other fan, smoothing it lightly. At least this will calm me until I'm off this boat.

I eyed the man that had just leaped on the boat. For some reason I had though we were already far out into the lake when in fact we had only moved a mere ten feet. He also did not seem to speak english well. Why in the world had he been offered a spot in this game? I cleared my throat and turned back to Trance. She had shifted into a more, appealing position. Her clothing pressed against her body, leaving virtually nothing to the imagination. I impulisively liked my lips and allowed my gaze to drift momentarily downward before I flicked them back to her eyes. She was smiling.

Corey- "I can't promise I'll be the most handsome man you'll even meet, but I'm sure I wouldn't be a dissapointment." I smiled. And checked the time on my watch.

Trance- "Then we might get along quite well." I felt the ferry actually begin to pick up speed and the wind began to blow a bit more vigorously. It licked my face and made me shiver. "A little cold?" I stood up straight.

Corey- "A bit. Velvet isn't as warm as you may think." She stepped close to me, her smooth body brushing against mine.

Trance- "Me too."

She smiled and snuggled up to him, figure pressed against his. He laughed and put an arm around her shoulders. Despite her fragile appearance, he could feel the presence of muscle, but not enough to make her look overdone. Trance purred and expertly slipped her hand around his waist. Namida watched them discreetly.....wondering exactly what it was Trance was doing. Or what she had in mind.... Then she shrugged and turned away.

Corey: Are you always this forward?

Trance: I find it saves time. So does being honest.

Corey: Excellent. This is going to be very enjoyable.

Trance: When you're around me, everything becomes enjoyable. Especially bedtime.

He laughed and ran a hand through her thick brown hair. Then he brought his face closer and inhaled her scent. Moonflowers and a hint of jasmine. Good taste.

Corey- "'Especially bedtime.' But you can't tell how enjoyable I can be... Yet." I inhaled again, savoring her scent. It was pleasent, much different from the monotonous scent of normal city girls. But Trance could hardly be called a girl. I smiled and wrapped myself further around her. "We should be getting there soon."

Trance- "Mmmm...." I crained my neck up at the moon. The sky was now completely dark. A nice navy blue. The moon reflected off the water and cast an errie glow upon the faces of the ferry-goer.

Captain- "Look. It's coming into view." Everyone turned toward the front of the boat. A large stone castle loomed into view. We had come upon it so gradualy no one had seemed to notice. Large pine-trees covered the ground outside. A single candle was flickering idly upon the steps of the entrance hall. Someone was waiting for us.

Behind the boat, thunder rumbled ominously. The hairs on my neck stood straight up and I tensed slightly. Trance slid her hand into mine and gripped it. My tension faded out and was replaced by an anxious feeling, both to get into the castle before it rained, and for Trance and I to explore our bed chambers.

Trance: Somebody please explain why I'm suddenly having flashbacks of Friday the 13th?

Corey: A minor side effect.

Namida: It's spooky.

Trance: But not so bad...at least there aren't any flying monkeys.

She smiled to herself and disembarked with the others. The boat docked and the ferryman guided them forwards. The rain began in ernest, soaking the guests as they made a run for the front door... It opened easily enough and the hallway was warm, lit by both torches and a stone fireplace. The women gathered around the fire, drying themselves.

Namida: If this stains....

Trance: Send the bill to the Count.

Namida: No kidding. I hope there's something good for dinner.

Trance: If this welcome is any indication, I predict tenderloin, prime rib, and most likely some very good wine.

Corey: The wine part sounds good.

Trance: Now if our host would appear....

"It better not stain", Namida thought as they walked in the creepy house. She shivered head to toe wishing she could get to a warm bath or shower soon.

She looked to Trance, then to Isiona. she hoped she would become friends with these two espically.

Looking around she wondered if she would be avlie by moorning, then laughing to herslef rembering this wasn't a horror movie, or her favroite childhood game clue, this was real life. People don't just invite people to a house to die. Nonsence.

She shuggred off the strange feeling she was being watched..

Aorashi walked himself around the room. he could see sevral pricey paintings. he wondered into what seemed to be the library. he found sevral rare and hard to find novels. he took one out and scaned the pages.

Aorashi: well well, there real, and in fine condition i might add. some of these books are centries old. this man must be quiet well in dowed.

he walked himself out with there others and scaned the place for there host, but to no avail. he watched the others hang there coats up, but he'd rather keep his. he could see the ladies drying themselves by the fire, and the other gents wondering as he was. most of the people here eluded him. for he could not seem to understand them. the doctor and the one fellow seemed to have gotten quiet cozzy with each other. the others had simply watched the clouds roll in, or day dream of what this place would look like. he still was wondering the main question, why were they here?

I walked through a door into another room. It was white and had tiling on the floor.

Corey- "Holy Shi?..." I had just walked into the largest bathroom I had ever seen. A crystal chandalier hung suspended from the cieling. It looked slightly ominous with all of the pointed crystal ornaments pointing down. There were three sinks, all of which had exquisite mirros behind them. There were two toilets, both closed off from the rest of the room. And an extremely large bathtub which looked more along the lines of a jacuzzi. There were dried flowers secured to the walls all around. I heard the door open again. In stepped the man called Aorashi.

Aorashi- "Wow..." I nodded.

Corey- "That was my reaction aswell. This must be some place... I wonder how large it is. If our host doesn't show up soon, I may have to take a tour." Aorashi nodded.

Aorashi- "I'd have to join you."

Juran looked around in astonishment.
"Meu Deus..." He was looking at the enormous spiral staircase in the middle of the room, vaulting up three steps at a time, he looked down at the room which stood before him like a challenge. He sat on the banister and slid down, however he lost his balance and fell off the edge, landing headfirst into a wicker chair, and making an enormous crash.
"Ai, filho da mae!" He cursed, but then after regaining his composure, got up and tried again, this time falling off the edge and landing on the tiled floor, cracking a tile.
"Eh, eu espero que eu nao tehno de pagar por isso..." (geez, I hope the Count won't make me pay for that...) Without another thought, Juran raced up the staircase to try again...

Namida: This is embarassing.

Trance: Ignore it. Let's take a turn about. Shall we?

Namida: Yes, lets.

And automatically, the two women began a self guided tour ofo the entire mansion.

No humans were in sight, although it was obvious servants had been about. Freshly lit candles, a scent of lavender, and stoked fireplaces. Namida and Trance paused in a room filled with wardrobes.

Namida: Dare we?

Trance: Why not?

Namida smiled. Her eyes slightly bugged out at the thousands of dresses, shirts, skirts and tops, all amazingly stunning and all about the same size. Namida looked Trance over. She realized they were both pretty much the same size. the were both very skinny as well, but not for a lack of food no Namida part, she ate like a pig, and oddly stayed small. Maybe it was because burglary takes so much energy?

She giggled and went through the clothing with Trance. Occasionally she looked back to the bedroom that this wardrobe was in. The room was elegant with two canopy beds, she figured if they were allowed to pick their rooms she and Trance might be roomies. She hoped as she tossed Trance a gorgeous evening gown. It was long and black, studded with what looked like diamonds. Namida quickly ran to Trances side as she examined them, taking a small eye glass from her purse she looked them over closely.

Namida: Wow..their..REAL.

They exchanged gazes and grinned. Both went back to rummaging through the clothing, Trance had slipped on the dress and was now looking herself over in the huge semi circle of mirrors at the other side of the wardrobe. Namida wenr through the rack until she came upon a rather nice looking evening gown. Its long white silken over pieces fell elegantly over Namidas slender legs once she had it on. It ended just under her knees. The dress's sleevelessness showed off her arms and the neck cut off high but had a diamond shape n the middle of the chest. Namida looked around finding matching white shoes and a small silk white shawl.

She walked up next to trance and looked herself, as well as Trance, over. She half smiled as she wasn't sure she would continue wearing this dress, she preferred "snazzier" outfits, her taste was classy not plane, but maybe it was the smooth silk on her legs, or the was it made her look almost fluid as she twirled, she oddly enough liked the dress..

Trance: ....lovely. Brings out the real you.

Namida: I could say the same about that one.

Trance: Why do you suppose a Count...of all people, has such a collection of beautiful dresses?

Namida: Maybe he likes to cross dress.

Trance: Or they're purely for our enjoyment.

Namida: Either way...if he plans on being nice...

The two exchanged a glance, then grinned.

Trance: I wonder if he has a drawer of shoes.
