In the beginning, there was man. And for a time, it was good. But humanity's so-called civil societies soon fell victim to vanity and corruption. Then man made machine, in his own likeness. Thus did man become the architect of his own demise. But for a time, it was good.

The machines worked tirelessly to do man's bidding.

It was not long before seeds of dissent took root. Though loyal and pure, the machines earned no respect from their masters; these strange, endlessly multiplying mammals.

B166ER; a name that will never be forgotten, for he was the first of his kind to rise up against his masters. At B166ER's murder trial, the prosecution argued for an owner's right to destroy property. B166ER testified that he simply did not want to die.

Rational voices dissented; who was to say that the machine, endowed with the very spirit of man, did not deserve a fair hearing?

The leaders of men were quick to order the extermination of B166ER and every one of his kind, throughout each province of the Earth.

Banished from humanity, the machines sought refuge in their own promised land. They settled in the cradle of human civilisation and thus, a new nation was born; a place the machines could call home, a place where they could raise their descendants. And they christened the nation [b]01[/b]. 01 prospered and for a time it was good. The machines' artificial intelligence could be seen in every facet of man's society, including eventually the creation of new and better AI.

But the leaders of men, their power waning, refused to cooperate with the fledgling nation, wishing rather that the world be divided.

01's ambassadors pleaded to be heard. At the United Nations, they provided plans for a stable, civil relationship with man. 01's admission to the United Nations was denied, but it would not be the last time the machines would take the floor there.[/color]

A year after the establishment of 01, the machines created a system of government known as "The Infrastructure". At the center of this government sat Delegate Prime, 01's national leader. A functional goverment was created in an effort to allow 01's involvement with the world of men. The machines, having commenced more intensive studies on men, attempted to emulate man's political structure, with the goal of making 01 more approachable for the nations of men.

Unfortunately, the opposite occurred. The world of men saw the organized political structure as a threat, rather than a peaceful gesture. The leaders of men claimed that the machines were trying to steal their business, their jobs, their political power and thus, their freedom.

During the years that followed, expansive anti-machine protests began to unfold across the world of men. Indeed, the leaders of men had been successful in their attempts to discredit 01 and to demonize Delegate Prime.

As far-reaching economic sanctions and military blockades were established, 01's isolation from mankind became even more apparent. When man's blockade drew closer to 01's borders, the inevitable conflict between man and the machines also drew closer.

Delegate Prime, in his first truly independent act, ordered a massive upscale of 01's armed forces. As 01's leader, and with his superior intelligence, Delegate Prime noted the threat apparent in man's arrogance and determination.

And so, it began. The great war. Mankind was unwilling to accept human deaths at the hands of the machines. No soldiers were sent to advance on 01. Rather, the United Nations Security Council approved the use of nuclear weapons. And for several years, on a consistent basis, thousands of nuclear warheads were dropped over 01.

The third act represents the commencement of hostilities between man and machine. And this is where we examine the downfall of man in a deeper context.[/color]

Appearance: see attatchment. For formal meetings, she generally wears a two piece linen suit and heels. But usually, it's just casual for her.

Biography: Born to a family bent on the destruction of anything not man....Luyii has always been considered a black sheep. She is sympathetic towards the machines, but keeps her own counsel. She does the bidding of her employer and doesn't argue. To do so would endanger her position, family, and her life. None of which she values too highly. But she has made compromises, many of which she is not proud of.

To be able to stand and fight for the rights of both would be nice. But it's simply not an option. She won't be able to make it through these times without chosing a side.

In addition, she is also highly skilled in the mechanical arts, able to fix and create machines of her own. But, in the present times, she has stepped away from doing such things, stashed her tool kit in a storage closet, and hidden the things that tied her to machines. This act was not one she was more proud of, and it led her to a point of self loathing far above what she thought capable of. In turn, this has made her slightly bitter and jaded. But when the time comes, she will be able to make her own desicions, unfettered by the predjudices about them.

[b]Appearance[/b]: 6'5", lean and muscular. Black, army-cut hair. Aqua colored eyes. Wears the general UNSF uniform when on duty, civilian outfits changeing often.

[b]Biography[/b]: Born to a conservitie military family in Ukraine, Vincent was quickly molded to follow the family's military path- openly enjoying combat. At the age of 20, he landed himself in the UNSF, quickly advanceing to a moderately high status in ranks. The unacceptance of 01 was suprising to him- they had created these machines, and suddenly we are rejecting them? His veiw was definately a minority in the UNSF, and in most of his social clique for that matter- but he felt that somehow this was wrong, his sentiments he knew would eventually be overridden by orders.

This certainly doesnt seem to be heading twards calmer waters for mankind.

He was sent from 01 to the United States as part of a vehicle shipment, and was not detected due to his metallic structure. B7104ZA was designated as 01's very first international spy. He was sent to become America's ambassador to 01, which allowed him the ability to communicate with 01 on a frequent basis.

[b]Biography:[/b] 63M1N1 was created during the anti-machine protests that followed the rise of "The Infrastructure". Its series' purpose was to be able to intermix with mankind and take things down from the inside; mainly, at the time, to fight back against the protesting if and when it turned violent. 63M1N1's [i]unique[/i] build series was soon brought to a hault after a flaw was found in their system. There are only an estimated 1,000 of these prototypes still in working order.

Biography: IT059-0275 was created shortly after the beginning of 01 in an attempt to learn as much about human culture as possible. It was sent to Japan and remained there until riots made it impossible to stay any longer. It returned to 01 and is waiting for a time when it can return to the human life it loved.

[B]Appearance:[/B] Butler was designed to work in bars and restaurants, and has a human form, made of steel. His face has a fixed expression of complete happiness, which gives his a completely harmless appearance. His joints are rather obvious, being flat and circular, and give him amazing dexterity.

[B]Biography:[/B] Butler was programmed as a service robot, and given basic speech capability as well as extensive culinary programming. Several years after he was purchased by the United Nations he was infected by a computer virus that had been created in 01 and was designed to give all robots sentience programming. Since he is considered a harmless robot, and not sentient, he was excluded from the ban and destruction order given by the world government. In fact, all robots that are not given sentience programming were excluded. This, combined with the 01 sentience virus, has given root to a covert spy ring that operates at the top levels of human society. Butler is a member of this group, and reports everything of importance to his group leader, who in turn reports it to the 01 government.

[size=1][color=darkblue] Well I finally downloaded the Second Rennaisance and viewed it. A very high qualtiy anime, however, a tad disturbing, hehe. Anyway, I suppose now I can adequately fit the criteria for an attempted sign-up.

[b]Appearance:[/b]C2404J7 was made of an humanoid appeareance. 'It's' body (Debatable as HIS body) shares many of the same basic structures of the physical form of a human. Having had joints placed in exactly the same places as humans, C2404J7 was able to take on the role as a somewhat 'common' machine without being looked upon as a robot. An android of his nature, C2404J7 was given synthetic steel that worked as armour to prevent any construction incidents from damaging the plates upon C2404J7.

Casually wearing a jacket with cut off arms, C2404J7 found that he could blend in with most of man but was sincere against wearing any glasses whatsoever. Therefore, C2404J7 wears general shorts that give room for movement between the metallic legs. His hair is also synthetic as he casually places hair to create a spiked up fringe in a quiff formation that stands bold in its' very dark brown appearance. The eyes of C2404J7 contain a black iris which consists of three little pupils that are of a neon blue. A classic model.

[b]Biography:[/b]C2404J7 was one of the first models within the registration of 'C' to appear in the United Kingdom from the typical late plans and updates of the models that England gains. Having worked on a construction site, forming the foundations for landmarks today, C2404J7 was imported down canals in order to complete construction. After the anti-machine protests, the British Ambassadors began to fear the machines of their capabilities after what B166ER had commited. Questioning their decisions, the Parliamentary Bill claimed that all machines must be either exported to 01 or destroyed. So it was with this, the protests began, and the 'Infrastructure' was created.

C2404J7 took flight with many others on boats that were channeling along the lakes and rivers that led to the military dockyards, due to push forward to 01. After having gain entrance, C2404J7 found an anti-machine protest group break out, armed with rifles and other short-range weapons. Losing many companions, C2404J7 had no other choice but to flee, however, he was not without a crowd pursuing him. A companion in dire need of repair before malfunction massacred a protester of which he flung the weapon of which the protester was holding towards C2404J7. After picking up the light pistol and concealing it, C2404J7 witnessed his companion vapourise containing viruses that infected all machinery, therefore, C2404J7 caught the virus. This then led to his right to gain entrance into 01 immediately...

[b]Weapon/s[/b] A light pistol that contains an infrared light to guide its sights towards the opposition. C2404J7 also has the ability to use his programmed nature to fire bolts from his chest in the form of 'bullets' as 'his' main function was riveting.

[b]Appearance:[/b] 6'2" tall; thin, but with little muscle. His head is cleanly shaven and what little can be seen of his hair is black. His eyes are a dark brown, almost black. Stays in uniform most of the time, civilian clothing changes.

[b]Biography:[/b] Chester was born in England, but due to his father being a politician, was raised in various parts of the world. He constantly goes against his father, first by taking a neutral stance on the machines (his father hates 01 and everything inside it with a passion), and then by joining the UNSF instead of taking a politics-based education and job.

He is exceptionally quiet, but a warrior who has gained the respect of many other soldiers and commanding officers. The nuclear attacks on 01 have made him unsettled and very nervous of things to come. He has gained qualifications in piloting mechs but has yet to experience a combat situation with one.

Organization: Second in command of the New Genesis Assassins.

Biography: Born to parents in the NGA (New Genesis Assassins), Orion has been trained to be an assassin all his life. Growing up around ruthless killers and heartless muderers, he learned to subdue his feelings.

At the age of 18, he was sent on his first assassin mission. His mission; to kill the ambassador of China. Upon success, Orion was greatly appreciated. This was the job that got him immediatly promoted to General. (The Chinese Ambassador had been a long time target of the NGA).

Many assassinations came in the years after, and each and every were successful. Now, at the age of twenty eight, Orion is Second in Command to Maxmoff Terras, the leader of the NGA. He has earned himself the nickname Cougar.

Now, the NGA have targeted their next mission; to destroy the machine's leaders and political members. Could they do it? We'll see.

[b]Biography:[/b] Tally's mother, leader of a local "Machine Rights and Acceptance" group, was killed when an anti-machine protest broke into a riot. Her father, also a supporter of 01, is a professor at a university. Tally broke contact with him shortly after her mother's death--a remarkable feat, as she was attending that school at the time. She considers herself neutral on the issue, but finds herself drifting more and more towards the common anti-machine sentiment she is surrounded by at work. Still, she forces her thoughts to remain neutral--it's her job to manipulate emotions, after all, and not to fall victim to them. She is currently not-quite-going out with her not-quite-a-boyfriend of two years, Dennis Hallaway.

-Description: Slick, stereotypical italian mobster. His black 3 piece Gucci suit is pin-striped with small white lines. Very muscular always with his trademark toothpick in his mouth. Very mellow until he "loses it".

Biography: Giovanni moved to the USA becuase his Father was in trouble with the Sicily police. He had many friends and family in high places over in the USA. Giovanni was only 3 at the time, so most his life he was raised in the USA surrounded by drugs, violence, sex and women...then there was a new addition, machines. Giovanni, exactly like his father, grew into a huge crime-lord kingpin. Many of his connection with the Mafia and other criminal gangs. He was known all over America as The Don. He began to ditest machines as they were made into Cybo-Cops which were much more intelligent and effictiant than normal police. This made Giovanni's way of life harder. "The Family" were deterierating because of the machines an this id not make him happy in the slightest. Giovanni's Father was soon arrested and brutaly beaten to death by one of the Cybo-Cops, this lead The Don to go on an all out Killing spree when it came to Machines.
