Guest Chris Posted July 3, 2003 Share Posted July 3, 2003 [color=green][size=1]meh, i hate useing capital letters. anyway, i don't want aoe (otaku artist elite) to get too big, so i desided to hold a contest for those who'd like to join. if you think you're a good artist and you would like to join, post three pieces of your work here. you can post any kind of art you want as long as it's not against the rules (i think you know what that means). the judges will be the current members of the aoe. if you judge, you have to make sure you judge everyone fairly. the top 5 will be admited in. those are the rules. also, this is the only time i will except newbies. also, please don't duble post just to get three pieces in.[/size][/color] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's a nice arrangement of the characters. Although, the text needs to stand out more. Rating: 7/10 2.) The Animatrix logo looks as though it's behind the images, which it is, heh. You could move it to the front and fade it a bit. Also, the text doesn't look good right there, or the color isn't good. If you can fix the font in the first one to make it look more noticable then you can do the same on this one. Rating:5.5/10 3.) The background is very very good. It's a good use of the images. The right image, though, looks alittle, dunno what word to use...... discolored or somethin. Maybe a clearer pic and making it smaller a tad. And once again, there is that problem with the text not standing out very much. Rating: 8.7/10 [b]DAN RUGH[/b]: Great picture. Although there are a couple places that irk me a bit, but that's it. Then again, it'd probably look even better colored in. But other than that great job. Rating:9/10 [b]SHINOBI[/b]: 1.) Excellent, just excellent. Can't say much more. Rating: 10/10 (Heh, what can I say, I love that pic) 2.) Also very very good. I like graphics, heh, I actually use that as a background in some of my banners, although you can't tell. :) . Again, not much else to say. Rating: 9.5/10 (Kinda big for my taste) 3.)Very Excellent. Although there is a very [i]minor[/i] thing that irks me. It's with that star thing. Guest Chris Posted July 4, 2003 Share Posted July 4, 2003 [color=green][size=1]sorry hataki, but people have already vote this pic. if thet hadn't voted i'd say yes, but they did. heh. hataki 1: i don't know what it is, but i really like this one. it gives me this pleasent, appealing effect. heh. the zigzag coming out of that guy's nose kinda throws me off, but i like it none the less. 8.7/10 2: the green text is too bright. and the thing on the right doesn't really fit. but it is green, and i do like green. so i'll give it a 8/10 3: i don't like the backround on this. and the text is hard to read. heh. 7.2/10 dan 1: it's a good drawing, but not very detailed. i suggest if you enter another hand drawn pic, you make it a more detailed one. heh. but the talent is obvious, so i give it a 8.5/10 2: i love this one. i don't know what it is, but i love it. 9.3/10 shinobi 1: awesome. 9.3/10 2: i don't really like this one. it's just a little too pain for me. heh. 7.4/10 3: this one's nice. it's simple yet effective. 8.7/10 now, you have till the end of july to get these in. i may stop it before then if something comes up, so get them in as soon as posible. good luck to you all.[/size][/color] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I hate to postpone things so I shall use the following. This is a drawing I originally did in pencil of the Steam Knight from the game Brave Fencer Musashiden. I then one day scanned it into my computer, opened it up in Photoshop, and began coloring it and such. The Steam Knight itself was done with nothing but a solid gray/silver color and the Dodge and Burn tool. Then I used my magic to create the steam, a brush for the grass (the Burn tool for the shadow), and the back wall it just an array of filters and image adjustments.
