Well, just last night I was in the kitchen, and I asked my mother what I should do with my chicken bone. She said "Put it in the bag with the other chicken bones, so I can make soup with it." And then i said "What about the skins?" She said, "Throw them in there as well." So I go to the freezer and get out the bag w/ all of the chicken bones...and they're all frozen with little ice crystals on it...it's DISGUSTING...

The weirdest thing that my mom does is recycle..TOO MUCH...I mean we have like this huge collection of paper and plastic and cans and everything...it's just...unnerving how recyclable she is.

So, I was thinking if any of YOUR parents had any weird habbits! If so, DO tell!

Haha, this will be fun

Lets see. My mom is a librarian, but she wants to be an interior designer. Shes always looking at house magazines and she watches Trading Spaces al the time x_x It drives me crazy.

The only thing my Dad does that gets really annoying and such, is when pulls up his shirt and scares the crap out of us all.

Well, my mom has a kronic depression problem and mostly all she does all day is sit down and play a game named EverQuest. She has many friends online and really spends more time with them then she does with us, her children. It's not really weird, just sad and sort of depressing.

But that's about all, I don't notice any strange behavior.

my mom is a religious fanatic. She has every book on Cathalosism(sp?) ever made, ever. She has the "idiots guide" to almost every religion, and if you bring up a religious topic, she will go off an a tangent about it for a long, long time. that is pretty annoying.

and with my dad, every time he sees me with my girlfriend, he says "Oh look at the cute couple" he knows it pisses me off, but he does it anyway.

No matter how much my parents sleep, they're always tired. One time they fell asleep at 6 PM and woke up at 11 AM and were tired still...

Either that or my dad's workaholicness or my mom's obsessive-compulsive behavior over Super Breakout, like a 1-player version of Pong...

when I was young, I got Dr. Mario. My mom found the game, and got addicted to it. She would spend hours playing it. She would hoard my NES. She got to like level 206. Keep in mind the highest level you can start off on is 99. She was good.

My mum, actually doesn;t really have a fault...except she can get to para sometimes. If she hears a noise at the abck of the house (like drunk guys or whatever, keep in mind there is a road and path at the back of my house) she leaps up to the window and looks out to see who it is. It's wierd becuase my mum is like the opposite of nosey, but they way i am explaining it it sounds like she is REALLY nosey, but i swear she isn't.

Hahaha...my dad. Dont get me started on my Dad. He can;t do D.I.Y. in the slightest, put it this way, he tried to change the light bulb in my Utility Room and blew the whole socket >_<. Also when he like wakes up, he does this really wierd thing where he makes this freaky noise with the back of his throught then put his pinky finger in his ear and twitches it about and then he makes this wierd Roar noise...it is freakin scary! Lol. There are so many more for my Dad lol...

The things my parents do aren't weird to me, but might be to you..soo *prepares to count off fingers*

Letsee now;

-they both join in on quoting Monty Python with me.

-request updates on the storyline with both DBZ and Zoids when my brother and I watch them, and start an avid conversation and speculation with what is about to happen

- (My father mainly) pops up in the middle of playing Timesplitters 2 and requests to blow something up, usually when I'm holding a grenade launcher and am in a melee situation (^___^; )

- Throw things at me when I refuse to get off the phone ( lol, Rae and marbar can vouch for me on this) eg: grapes, a small potato, my Nike thongs... and then after that they both leapt onto my bed and tried to steal the phone from me. Lol ^^;

- Join in on conversations with my friends while we were waiting for the bus to TNT, usually quite amusing ones...

All in all, my parents are quite cool

^^

Join in on conversations... Mine join in and then run away with the topic!
Not really sure what odd things they do, they have done odd things but I don't remember most of them. I guess I have a nice half normal family.*

*Normal is based on Liam?s family for amusement value.

I do not know... I would say my parents are pretty much your typical parents. My mom is really cheesy at times with dated jokes, songs, and whatever else. It is like she is a kid... but a kid does not fit all that well into a conservative, adult body.

My dad is pretty cool though... he likes to cook, so he watches those cooking shows on television a lot. He is more layed back than my mother, but still maintains that conservative ideal. He is somewhat patriotic, recently made a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, but works as a private investigator and has been to war college or something like that. He just recently told me of one time that they put him and some of the other students in a room and then threw two flash grenades in there with 'em. o_O Crazy stuff... not too much the investigations he has been on. It is like he is James Bond or something, lol.

My parents are actually pretty close to perfect.

Weird, though....yes. Yes, I would have to say they are.

I don't know if this particular anecdote counts as weird, but it sure was annoying.

I was ready to walk out the door and drive over to a friend's house. My keys are in my hand. I give my dad a hug. He says, "Be back by midnight." I say, "Okay," and turn to go.

"Wait, Sara--" he says.

I turn back around.

"I was talking to my friend Wayne the other day. Do you remember Wayne? Used to live in Minnesota--Well, he teaches as University of Missoula, Montana, now. Well, I was talking with him, and he asked if you knew where you were going to college. I said, No, I don't think so--Do you know, by the way? You don't, do you? Well, I said, No,, but we were guessing something in the creative arts--Do you know what you want to do? No? I didn't think so. Anyway, I said we were guessing something--drawing, painting, writing, somewhere in there. And it turns out that Missoula has a rather reknowned creative arts program--"

Here I am, keys in hand, and my father talks for me about Missoula, Montana for the next ten minutes. Begging your pardon, but what the heck?

It was just...very surreal.

My dad whistles. Honest to god, he whstles, and it drives me insane half the time. It's always the same weird little tune over and over again, and he always choses to do it in a very crowded spot. I love my dad, don't get me wrong, but it's really kind of annoying at times.

As for my mom, she has tendancies to make perverted comments... in front of my friends. XD I'm the kind of person that loves to scare the bejezuz out of random people, friends included. It's just kind of unnerving having my mother be the exact same way. Go figure.

My mother...is more cool than anything else. She doesn't throw potatoes [Like Liam's parents], or shoes [Like Mark's parents], but she tends to pay me out with my friends, and come and attack me with a football in the middle of the night.

But, the best thing is -- she cooks. It's marvellous, simply wonderful cooking.

Weird? Heck no.

Whenever my dad is angry, he gets in his ute and drives to another town for the fun of it, usually it being Parkes. Sometimes I go with him. It tends to turn out to be a good trip, getting MacDonald's on the way up and back for dinner and tea.

my mom, she blows on diffucult to untie knots, and um, howls to put my nephews to sleep, makes tea out of everything, from grass to lettuce to whatever you give her, sleeps on the couch even though there are many free beds, um, there's more, but it's late

Umm my parent's aren't really weird. But they can sometimes embarrass me or my friends. My mom talks a lot to my friends when she sees them. She also talks a lot to any of my classmates when she sees them. I find that weird and disturbing but maybe that is just me.

well.....i'm very interested in how this happened....i DID reply to this thread i know i did....but it appears that it's not here, so i shall type it up again i guess....*sighs*

my mom has this thing with grocery bags, she collects them and puts them in this cubbard...for no apparent reason. So every now and then i ask her "are these recyclable?" or "are you giong to use these for anything?" just to get rid of a few....way way too many grocery bags...

my dad, well he can do this thing to make his fingers 'dance' and i find it pretty amusing...but for WEIRD he had a surgery and so every now and them he'll whip up his shirt and sacre the heebie jeebies outta my sister with his huge scar....but see...i find that amusing as well, lol, i think my dad's pretty cool i guess...muahah :D

My dad always makes up these weird sayings and couple of them annoy me greatly. One, whenever I am eating something or doing something, for example, I get a soda out of the fridge and open it up. Right when I am about to drink some, my dad says, "Soda makes you bald" He does that to all the time. Also, when I stayed up late watching anime, and it is the following morning, he walks right up to my bed when I am fast asleep at around 7 AM. Anyways, he say's in his loudest voice, When are you going to wake up, 47 O' Clock? That makes me really angry. There is one more pet peeve from my dad that I almost forgot. He never believes that I am right and he always thinks that it is always my fault when it is not and he believes that I'm always wrong.

With my mom, she criticizes my eating habits, anime drawings, and hobbies. She thinks that I should be just like her with clothes, hobbies, and activies. For example, I like wearing my male style board shorts and bikini top for a swimsuit and my mom wants me to wear a one piece swimsuit...I hate one piece swimsuits and I love my QuickSilver board shorts. She also doesn't want me to leave the house during the day this summer or any summer, and I now 17 years old!!!

You are so mean! Right when I saw this topic, I thought of that. I was reading through all the posts, and then saw yours. :p

Ah well, it's true. My dad does do that. He usually picks the worst quote too. He used to walk around singing the Spongbob song. I sure hope he doesn't see the Hamtaro song. All I need is him to walk around singing that.
