iHOP sounds like a sequal to the popular game Frogger. Anyways how can you hate old people they rule. You will be old one day and if you have this sort of attitude, young whipper snappers will hate you as well.

I don't like old people, when I become old, I won't be like them, out of shape and mad at the world because they don't serve them at their feet. The old people in Florida, well especially in this one section of town are REALLY rude, and it is ridiculous.

Oh really?
What type of old person do you aim to become if you live that long and don't get run over by a tricycle.

Er, I think we should try to get this back on topic.

I only have on grandparent that's still alive, and that's my paternal grandmother. She's a really nice person and I always enjoy talking to her. She's one of my favorite family members.

My mom's parents died when I was very young; probably about 4 or 5. I don't remember very much about them, but from what I can gather about the stories my mom tells about them, I would've liked them very much. They seemed like fun-loving people to me. Some of those were pretty funny.

And now to the person my family doesn't like to mention, my grandfather. He's no longer alive and I have never met him. He was cut off from the family because he left my grandmother, which meant that she had to raise five kids all by herself. Personally, I never really had any interest in meeting him, and I can't think of any explanation I would've accepted as to why he left his own children.

I plan to be a healthy one without any disabilities or serious failure in a body part or something to do with my body. ;)

You can't control that you know. Even if you eat healthy and you do everything right and excersise every day that is no guarantee that you will live long and healthy. Like I said you could die in a tragic tricycle accident any day.
God forbid of course.
All the best.

Ok...getting back on topic...

I have 3 sets of grandparents. I have my dad's mother and father, which I don't see very often, I have my mom's mother and father, and then I have my mom's step mother and step father. My mom's parents got divorced when she was about 10, and both remarried. So, I have Grandaddy and Momo, Grandmother and Buddy, And Grandmother Nancy and Grandaddy Bob. I love my grandparents - the only bad thing about it is that my dad's parents live in Lubbock, like, 6 hours away, so we never see them. But that's OK, my dad isn't really much of a family guy...but we did have one incident with my mom's mother, and we were going to have family portraits taken...

Grandmother wanted us to wear...matching t-shirts. Matching polo shirts, to be exact. And we all hated the idea. And so one day she called and my sister picked up the phone and she asked her about it and kept trying to persuade grandmother - and then she went "OK, bye bye, whitney," and HUNG UP. My grandmother hung up on my sister. Hahah i thought that was hilarious because you know grandparents are always nice kind people but hahahaha not this time! She hung up on her granddaughter...maybe your grandparents aren't all nice and sweet and "would you like another chocolate", but my grandparents boarder that...and so when she hung up it was just like WOA! But anyway..

I love all of my grandparents, and i hope they live long!

yup,i totally agree.grandparents are really nice. i haven't met my grandparents on my father's side cuz they died quite early,i think they died when my dad was just a teen but its ok with me cuz atleast i still have my grandparents on my mother's side. they're both really nice but unfortunately they're seperated so its kinda hard seeing them during christmas.

anyways,i do think that grandparents are one the nicest people i've ever met!

It's easy to nice to someone else's children. :smirk: I bet your parents wouldn't say the same...

I though my granny was the most sweetest woman in the world as well... until I moved to her. No, I'm not saying she turned into a horrible witch or anything, I do love her, it's just that when you live alone with somebody, things can get quite heated from time-to-time, and you see whole new aspects of the other. My nature just doesn't really match with my granny's... Shame. :(

But I'll be out of there in few months, and I hope we will get back to the old days (not that our relationship is screwed now, but...bleh, why am I explaining my self?)

In summary, old people are mostly nice, unless you piss them off by teen-angst stuff. Oh, how can they all just hate present day's youth culture so much?! (Not the youth, but the way we live)

They get all pissed off from teen angst because they never had to deal with that kinda stuff when THEY were kids..i'm sure that they're just pissed off because times, they are a changin. I'm sure it was all good in like the twenties, i mean, of COURSE it was...and all you really had to worry about was war or if your dad was going off to battle or something, so i guess they think it's just pointless to be crying over some guy/girl that dumped you or that your mother's having another baby or something...they'd probably think it was a blessing or something. Oh well, grandparents can be mean sometimes...but they're nice when they're nice.
