I've checked with a moderator about making this thread so it's ok.
I thought it would be interesting if we had a topic about guns and which ones are the best. I am interested in guns. Not so much using them (I wouldn't wanna get in trouble!), but learning about them and how they work. I admit some hands on experience would be kool as well  :flaming:.
We don't need to get too specific if we don't want to but all guns are included.

Fire away!
...
Get it?

But, I think that sniper rifles are the best. You can kill form anywhere! muwhahahahaha!
Yeah great aim when the enemy is right in your face!
Seriously who would win in most situations (the guns)?

Ahh the colt. A magnificently accurate gun and it includes a silencer at the same time.

The mp5 navy is a good starting gun for newbie... people who use guns. Doesn't bounce much, and good accuracy and deadly to the upper body.

Do you only know guns from Counter-Strike? lol.

The m4a1 comes with a shedload more customizations than just a silencer, and it is pretty accurate; but I'm assuming you're taking your ideas from Counter-Strike, which really doesn't show real gun physics.

I think any gun would be deadly to the upper body, not just a H&K mp5, lol. You're talking about bullets being projected at hundreds of feet a second, of course they're going to do some serious damage. A good starting gun for a newbie? Uh, you're talking about a sub-machine gun - something I certainly wouldn't want me or anyone else to start off on. I think a pistol is more suited to that.

Personally, I don't have a thing for guns. I love old WW2 guns, but in terms of weapons I prefer things like swords and sticks.

"Smith & Wesson, The Original Point-And-Click Interface." --Joke a friend sent me

Out of the guns I have shot I would have to say that the jet-black Berretta 9mm is the best. Little kick and a lot of ammo.

I have also shot off a .357 Revolver (do not know what type), a shotgun and an AR-15 (civilian version of M-16). The latter has a horrible sight on the barrel.

Just a thought on the side, where did everyone learn how to handle a gun? I learned from my father and uncle, both of whom were in law enforcement.

I can't believe nobody mentioned the Ak47!
The ultimate weapon for Russian Terrorists and contains the most amount of wood ever. (for a gun)

A normal .22 Rifle contains wood. :drunk:

So does a Stephenson Bruno Hornett .22 Shotgun... has a strong recoil on it, can reach 2-3 kilometers, and at close range would blow a normal-sized door off its hinges aswell as shatter it, or blow a hole in a wall big enough so you could almost walk through it. Seeing as this is the second model ever made of it, 1908 to be exact, it's alot stronger in the recoil than most modern shotguns, as the shoulder block is shortened by atleast 3/4 inches. It's double barrel, and also has the capability of firing both barrels at the same time, continuously.

Give me a shotgun, and a good close range shot. Aaahhh, brains everywhere, and I get front row seats.

A Small machine gun that you can hold in one hand(or UZI) Is great in most types of combat, but for an assasination/defense of a fort, a sniper rifle is best.

I like shotguns. One hit at almost any part of the body can be fatal!! And the rounds dont always stop after hitting 1 target!!!(err...at least I think thats how they work...)
Talk about deadly...

But I've always loved ordinary hand pistols with easy reloadable clips. :wigout:

To be honest, I dont know any of the real names of types of guns, I'm more of a medival weapon fan. I could tell you about all the types of swords:

Longsword

Claymore

Katana

Kodachi (thanks to ruroni kenshin for info!)

Shortsword

Scimitar

Rapier

Leaf Blade

Now for other weapons; the difference between a mace and a flail is a flail is basically a metal ball on a chain, while a mace is a metal ball attached to a stick.

Dude... taylor hewitt...

I dont know a thing about you, but atleast with the post you opened with, I would say I know some stuff for you.

First off... look into the ak-47 also known as and more commonly known as, the Kalashnakov. (SP?)

Kalashnakov is the man who invented the ak-47.

The ak was the first of its kind in a very specific sense... a reliable, cheap, easily produced, main battle rifle. (for any military)

The ak was based around the idea of being able to throw sand into the bolt and still be able to fire.

In other weapons, the parts are all very carefully placed in the gun and all fall together perfectly like a puzzle.

The 47 on the other hand is built with the idea of keeping the parts (in number) to a bare minimum and keeping them seperated. (as to allow proper function in cases such as the sand example mentioned above)

The ak-47 uses a 39 calibur 7.62 mm round.

Very strong and dangerous.

However, the gun is not perfect. Due to mass production by chinesse and soviet block countries, the ak has now been diluted to an in-accurate weapon of the third world.

The ak spawned dozens and dozens of weapons, all of which are similar to the original.

That little "bin laden gun" (thats always with him in the videos)... its a kalashnikov. (kalashnikov can be used to name any of the Kalashnikov designs.)

On the other hand, we have rifles like the m-16.

Its current incarnations are excellent weapons.

The differences between the ak and the m16 are amazing and as different as night and day.

However, the m16 isn't a complete piece of crap compared to the amazing gun described above.

The m16 uses a smaller bullet .223 calibur 5.56 mm. but, this very round allows for a great advantage in battle...

The battle load of an ak47 with 100 rounds is a "standard" load. With the same wieght, the m16 can carry 280 rounds.

Along with the excellence of design (in terms of technical ability and performance) the m16 holds its own quite well.

Another important fact about these weapons that you will learn one day, is that they both have many forms ranging from the kar-15 to the ak-74.

Hit me with a pm or instant message if you ever wanna learn what I will not post... there is far more than I could ever know... I might be able to help you on your way to learn it all.

I will come back and post some pictures along with some talk about other amazing designs like the m-2 .50 calibur machine gun. (the longest serving america battle impliment)

So just post or something and let me know what you think.

Well I certainly feel foolish posting this after GoKents gave us a nice little speech.

My favorite gun would easily have to be a simple silenced pistol. No, I don't know the technical names or anything but why would you need anything big and loud when you can shoot someone with a very quiet noise. And like someone already said: "It only takes one bullet to kill."

No, it really is a cool gun. I've seen th history channel special on it. If you get a genuine AK produced in Russian, it is better than a M-16.
It would still be wise to account for the differences in specific subjects of the test.

M16a1 vs ak47 M16a2 vs ak47 M16a2 vs ak74

Any of these weapons are different in important ways.

The ar-15 is the base of the m16.

Designed by a fella with the last name "Stoner," the stoner design is used in more weapons than I could ever name.

Armalites would be a good place to look for an honest new age stoner design.

If you want to look at the nicest m16 design, service rifle, (still stoner, produced by colt) look at the colt M4 carbine.

Each rifle is different, but personally, having grown up as a post cold war american, I see the ak47 as a product of the soviet union and a symbol of their nationalism.

I respect the weapon, but will not write the m16 off in a simple statment...

Not picking on you :D just ranting like a fool.

And thanks taylor.
