My favorit gun that in use is the 30mm volcan cannon. But on the drawing boards\ development would be the plasm rifle too bad it still big and bulky. but for hunting would be a .306 remington bolt action. or the classic 30-30 winchester lever action. Hand guns would be a .44 magnium or Desert ealge from counter strike.

My favorite automatic would have to be the G36c. It has a folding stock so it can be used upclose as well as as a rifle. It packs a good punch and is fairly reliable.
This is it with the stock folded in:

And with the stock out:

As for my favorite pistol, it would have to be the M9.

I own the airsoft version of both those guns and love them.

m16s, m4s, ak47s, and the such are just to popular. everyone seems to like them. I wanted to be different. I don't know anyone else who owns a g36c. everyone seems to have an m4 or an ak.

Those are some nice pictures you got there. Where did you get them? Did you take them? Or were you lazy and just downloaded them off google? :p

This is obscene!!! Do we really allow this here? You can't say a.s.s., but you can brag how you'd like brains splatted all over?!

Haven't any of you seen "Bowling for Columbine" from Michael Moore? After seeing that document, I don't want to even hear about guns - not to mention how fabulous and kool they are! :therock:

Sorry for being such a stiffer, but guns cause nothing but problems, there's absolutely nothing to admire in them. And don't give any crap about "we have a right to protect ourselves", when so many innocent kids have died playing with their father's pistol.

I'm shocked, I really am! I know favorite-threads are allowed to certain extend, but this is way off the limits!

Personally I find guns to be very impersonal. If you were going to kill someone and I am talking about in legitimate circumstances, i.e. war home invasion self defence etc. Then personally I think that you should only ever use a blade, people have become very casula in relaton to life scince guns and bombs made it so easy to take away.

Look back into history and you realise what it meant when a warrior or soldier took anothers life, now it really is "point and click" life has become far to cheap.

As for some of the better guns, for a precision rifle the WA 2000 is arguably the worlds most accurate sniper rifle, it is however not suitable for field use due to its delicacy and is favoured more by swat teams and the likes for when a clean shot counts.

Weight: 15.32 lbs (6.95 kg) empty.
Caliber: .300 Winchester Magnum, 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester), and 7.5x51mm Swiss.
Barrel Length: 25.59 inches (65 cm).
Overall Length: 35.62 inches (90.5 cm.)
Action: Gas operated Rotating Bolt (Semi-Automatic.)
Mode of Fire: Semi Automatic only.
Range: 3280.8+ feet (1000+ meters).
Magazine: 6 round box magazine.

Pistols are merrited on personal preference as the size of handgrips, accuracy compared to clip size and many other things need to be taken into consideration.

As far as a combat rifle, the styre AUG has the benifit of completely interchangeable bolt, barrel and reciever assemblies that can be dropped out and replaced in about 5 seconds if you know what you are doing.

The various versions of the styre include:
9mm parabellum
5.56 Nato assult rifle,
a sniper version with a longer barrel and better sights
and can be adapted if needs be to a support weapon
it can also be fitted with a grenade launcher

Still though I find that the impersonal way in which death is now approached is quite deplorable.

Bowling for Columbine is not a documentory. Link for proof I think you should all read that article about Bowling.

I'd have to say a .8 mm gun would do for me. Anything mostly. But I prefer knives, knives are my speciality. Balisongs [AKA Butter Knives, AKA Switchblades] is the only weapon for me.

Don't be ridiculous! I've seen Bowling for Columbine myself, and it's a friggin documentary!!! That site is just written by some gunlover who refuses to accept that guns are evil. You really believe everything you read from the net, Randle? :therock:

Of course Michael Moore was being subjective - it's totally impossible not to have an opinion or a point of view when making a film!

Sage this is nothing personal and no offence but guns aren't evil ok. What happens when WW3 comes and you are at home defenceless. But I don't have a gun I don't think I want one - they aren't evil though. Besides guns are illegle in Canada unless for hunting pretty much. I mean police and those guys use them but I'm talking regular folk.

Remember what I said in my first post on this thread.
I don't want guns or anything ok I like to discuss them.

I didn't mean guns themselves are evil - I don't believe in possessed objects ;) - but just look at history. How much more damage did guns bring to humanity and this world?

Many people buy guns "just for their own protection", but guns have such effect on people that they make them paranoid, they start to see "enemies" everywhere, and when this madness goes far enough, nobody can guarantee what the guns are used for. And what if a kid gets the gun and starts playing with it? Take it to school, and joins war-plays?

Guns cause evil, and this world would be so much better place without them, don't you agree? So why such an admiration thread? :therock:

Didn't you see that simpsons epidode when people from the dead came back and started killing everyone. If people wanted to have the fun of guns they could pay a fraction of the price for counter strike and get tons of guns and unlimited play with others online and bots. :)

Well, I don't like guns. If WW3 came around and everyone thought guns were evil, I'd not need to defend myself against one, would I?

How hypocritical of me.

I don't like guns, but I know how to use a couple. What's that, you say? Is this 16 year old girl from a country with gun-permit laws actually saying she can use a automatic rifle? That's right.
Well, I've only ever played with .22's and the F88 Austeyer, the authorised australian military rifle thingy. I don't know all the technical whatsitswhoosies, but I know a rifle is a gun that spins the bullet, because the inside of the barrel is, haha, "rifled", and a gun does not have these special spiral grooves. I've never managed to get my hands on the steyer's nastier counterpart in the AusDefence Force, the Minimi. One day.

I like the F88 because I know how to use it, I can dismantle it to it's full 22 pieces, and I can to my emergency actions in the dark (very handy thing to learn.) I've fired it on a laser range, and I've fired it live, and I am confidant enough to use it in the field. As I am only a cadet, however, that will not be happening any time soon. But we can all dream...

As for .22s, I've always said that they work better if you hit people with the butt instead of shooting at them with it.

Without guns people would not be able to defend themselves and what would police officers and figures of the law use? See, guns have their purpose.
